'A joy to read.' You Magazine 'Move over, Marie Kondo, it's all about washing not tidying in 2021 and it's down to one man - Patric Richardson.' The Times 'This slim volume, its breezy pages of tips and anecdotes, stories and, in the back, recipes, is a lovely salve. One would be very fortunate, I think, to be Richardson's friend or neighbour, to share his optimism and joy in life's seemingly small things.' Washington Post 'Look after your laundry, and your soul will look after itself.' W. Somerset Maugham Doing laundry is rarely anyone's favourite task. But to Patric Richardson, laundry isn't just fun - it's a way of life. Sorting your laundry? It's not all about whites and darks. Pondering the wash cycles? Every load, even delicates, should be washed using express or quick-wash on warm. Facing expensive dry cleaning bills? You'll learn how to wash everything - yes everything - at home. And those basically clean but pongy clothes? Richardson has a secret for freshening those too (hint: it involves your drinks cabinet). Changing your relationship with laundry can also change your life. Richardson's handy advice shows us how to save time and money (and the planet!) with our laundry - and he intersperses it all with a healthy dose of humour, real-life laundry stories, and lessons from his career in fashion. How to Love Your Laundry will make you wonder why you ever stressed about ironing, dry cleaning, or (god forbid) a red wine spill on your new shirt. No matter the issue, Richardson is here to help you make laundry miracles happen - wrinkles and stains be damned.

WHO WAS DUNCAN HENNESSEY? A big and burly mountain man, a half-breed some said, he seemed not unlike the bears he'd saved Betsy Hunter from—wild, powerful, a force of nature. But as she tended the wounds this loner had suffered because of her, Betsy could see that he was gentle, too, with an artist's soul. And though he'd professed to like the lonely existence he'd carved for himself in the wilds of Montana, Betsy knew otherwise. There was no doubt that in Duncan Hennessey, she'd found her true mate for life. But could she pierce the dark cloud of his past— and show him a brighter future in her arms?

This is a no nonsense straight to the point type of book. While thought provoking, this book will enhance a woman's relationship while prompting her to reevaluate past and current relationships. This book will be a tool of reference for women to resort to when deciding whether or not she should pursue the man she is interested in. When a man loves a woman he will come and do what is asked of him. Whereas when a man is in love with a woman he will do what is expected of him. The many books that have been written on matters of love and intimacy, fail to encompass the fact that women enter relationships for various reasons.

Mist written by Miguel de Unamuno and has been published by Aris and Phillips Hispanic Cla this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2014 with Literary Collections categories.

Mist (Niebla), published in 1914, is one of Miguel de Unamuno's key works; a truly Modernist work of Europe-wide significance which aims to shatter the conventions of fiction, using the novel as a vehicle for exploration of philosophical themes. The plot revolves around the character of Augusto, a wealthy, intellectual and introverted young man and his love affair with Eugenia, which eventually ends in heartbreak. Augusto decides to kill himself, but decides that he needs to consult Unamuno himself, who had written an article on suicide which Augusto had read. When Augusto speaks with Unamuno, the truth is revealed that Augusto is actually a fictional character whom Unamuno has created. Augusto is not real, Unamuno explains, and for that reason cannot kill himself. Augusto asserts that he exists, even though he acknowledges internally that he doesn't, and threatens Unamuno by telling him that he is not the ultimate author. Augusto reminds Unamuno that he might be just one of God's dreams. Augusto dies and the book ends with the author himself debating to himself about bringing back the character of Augusto. He establishes, however, that this would not be feasible. Following on from his translation of Abel Sanchez , John Macklin's edition provides a much needed new English translation, alongside the Spanish text, together with a substantial introduction.

Women In Dark Age And Early Medieval Europe C 500 1200 written by Helen Jewell and has been published by Bloomsbury Publishing this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2006-10-04 with History categories.

The period 1200-1550 opened in a time of population expansion but went on to suffer the demographically cataclysmic effects of the plague, beginning with the Black Death of 1347-51. The period dawned with a confident papacy and the Albigensian crusade against heretics and ended with the Catholic church torn apart by the Protestant Reformation. Huge challenges were affecting society in various ways, but they did not always affect men and women in the same ways. Helen M. Jewell provides a lively survey of western European women's activities and experiences during this timeframe. The core chapters investigate: - The function of women in the countryside and towns - The role of women in the ruling and landholding classes - Women within the context of religion This practical centre of the book is embedded in an analysis of the gender theories inherited from the earlier Middle Ages which continued to underpin laws which restricted women's activity, an education system which offered them inferior institutional provision, and a church which denied them ministry. Three individuals who vastly exceeded these expectations, crashing through the 'glass ceilings' of their day, are brought together in a fascinating final chapter. Combining a historiographical survey of trends over the last thirty years with more recent scholarship, this is as indispensable introduction for anyone with an interest in women's history from the late Medieval period through to the Reformation.
