This is the second book on the early life of Finn Mac Cumhaill. It has taken me five long years to write these two books and although it was a long process, I have enjoyed every minute researching the old Irish legends of which I regret to say I had only heard of a few. There are hundreds of legends and tales that have been handed down by word of mouth through the Seanchaidhe for millenia. Sadly, today if you asked the current generation of Irish people who Finn MacCumhaill was, a blank face is the answer you will receive all too often. It is a shame that we are losing this core Celtic soul that makes Irish people in all four corners of our Island and beyond what we are. We come from a rich vibrant celtic past which defines what the Irish people are, and it is something we should never lose. These books although primarily works of fiction are based on the ephemeral legends that define who Finn Mac Cumhaill was. I am merely trying to strip back the legend to find what in my humble opinion is what Finn may have been really like. There is of course still a little magic in the story of his life, but I have molded it to be a physical kind of magic. This second book brings Finn to the point in his life where he finds his legacy and accepts who he is and the responsibilities that come with that legacy. This second book is the end of the beginning of Finns life and there are many more stories to be written. I hope you enjoy reading these books as much as I have enjoyed wrting them Damien Coffey

I have been enamored by the legends of Finn Mac Cumhaill since I was a youngster. The stories and legends that young Irish people grew up were short and very ephemeral and full of magic. They were handed down by the Seanchaidhe, the order of Irish story tellers for thousands of years. As a child I often wondered what Finn was really like. That wonder was the seed for this series of books that I have now finally begun to write. The books of which this is the first are primarily works of fiction that humanize the boy and the man of legend. I have spent the last four years writing this first book around my busy life as a Husband, father, and working the day job. The ancient history of Ireland has always fascinated me and very little remains of that history apart from these Irish legends that have been passed down by word of mouth for millennia. I have enjoyed immensely the investigation of the legends of Finn and have a passion to find the real man behind them. I wanted to strip away the purely magic creature that Finn had become through the legends and myths to tell the story of Finn through his eyes as a normal boy who was orphaned and left to be brought up by his two aunts, growing into the man around which the subsequent legends grew. I have dissected all of the legends and deeds of Finn to find the kernel of the true events that took place that led to the legends we know of today. I have also kept a little magic in the book although I have twisted it to be a more physical kind of magic surrounded by the druidic earthy beliefs of the Celtic people living in the time period the book is set in. I hope that you will get the same enjoyment from the stories as I do.Damien Coffey

King, warrior, and lover Brian Boru was stronger, braver, and wiser than all other men-the greatest king Ireland has ever known. Out of the mists of the country's most violent age, he merged to lead his people to the peak of their golden era. His women were as remarkable as his adventures: Fiona, the druidess with mystical powers; Deirdre, beautiful victim of a Norse invader's brutal lust; Gormlaith, six-foot, read-haired goddess of sensuality. Set against the barbaric splendors of the tenth century, Lion of Ireland is a story rich in truth and legend-in which friends become deadly enemies, bedrooms turn into battlefields, and dreams of glory are finally fulfilled. Morgan Llywelyn has written one of the greatest novels of Irish history. At the Publisher's request, this title is being sold without Digital Rights Management Software (DRM) applied.
