The meditation/psychometry group that I started in my own home is unique. Although it’s just one version among a myriad of other kinds of spiritual circles, it’s very special—so special that most of the women in the group call it “life-changing.” I’m writing this book to share some of these wonderful experiences and guide others who might want to create a similar group of their own. My hope is that you remember three key takeaways from this book. 1) First, everyone has the ability to give a helpful message. We can label it as the product of intuition, Spirit, God, our higher self, inner guidance, or sensory information that works like a radio signal from our body’s electromagnetic field. There is nothing to fear with that. Nothing. 2) Second, no one needs to have any experience in being a “psychic reader” to participate. 3) Third, and most importantly, meeting with others for the purpose of sharing helpful intuitive information deepens each person’s sense of belonging, selfconfidence, spiritual insight, and personal growth. I hope that as you read, you’ll be picturing yourself seated among us and growing with us. I also hope that eventually you will become part of a group that meets regularly or consider starting a group of your own.

A must-have resource for researchers, practitioners, and advanced students interested or involved in psychometric testing Over the past hundred years, psychometric testing has proved to be a valuable tool for measuring personality, mental ability, attitudes, and much more. The word ‘psychometrics’ can be translated as ‘mental measurement’; however, the implication that psychometrics as a field is confined to psychology is highly misleading. Scientists and practitioners from virtually every conceivable discipline now use and analyze data collected from questionnaires, scales, and tests developed from psychometric principles, and the field is vibrant with new and useful methods and approaches. This handbook brings together contributions from leading psychometricians in a diverse array of fields around the globe. Each provides accessible and practical information about their specialist area in a three-step format covering historical and standard approaches, innovative issues and techniques, and practical guidance on how to apply the methods discussed. Throughout, real-world examples help to illustrate and clarify key aspects of the topics covered. The aim is to fill a gap for information about psychometric testing that is neither too basic nor too technical and specialized, and will enable researchers, practitioners, and graduate students to expand their knowledge and skills in the area. Provides comprehensive coverage of the field of psychometric testing, from designing a test through writing items to constructing and evaluating scales Takes a practical approach, addressing real issues faced by practitioners and researchers Provides basic and accessible mathematical and statistical foundations of all psychometric techniques discussed Provides example software code to help readers implement the analyses discussed

Despite medical technological advances, the major killers with which we must currently contend have remained essentially the same for the past few decades. Stroke, cancer, and heart disease together account for the vast majority of deaths in the United States. In addition, due to improved medical care, many Americans who would previously have died now survive these disorders, necessitating that they receive appropriate rehabilitation efforts. One result of our own medical advances is that we must now accept the high costs associated with providing quality care to individuals who develop one of these problems, and we must avail ourselves to assist of afflicted individuals. families Despite the relative stability of causes of death and disability, the health-care field is currently experiencing tremendous pressures, both from professionals with in the field, who desire more and better technology than is currently available, and from the public and other payers of health care (e.g., insurance companies), who seek an end to increasing health-care costs. These pressures, along with an increased emphasis on providing evidence of cost-effectiveness and quality assurance, are substantially changing the way that health-care professionals perform their jobs.
