The Mathematical Principles of Scale Relativity Physics: The Concept of Interpretation explores and builds upon the principles of Laurent Nottale’s scale relativity. The authors address a variety of problems encountered by researchers studying the dynamics of physical systems. It explores Madelung fluid from a wave mechanics point of view, showing that confinement and asymptotic freedom are the fundamental laws of modern natural philosophy. It then probes Nottale’s scale transition description, offering a sound mathematical principle based on continuous group theory. The book provides a comprehensive overview of the matter to the reader via a generalization of relativity, a theory of colors, and classical electrodynamics. Key Features: Develops the concept of scale relativity interpreted according to its initial definition enticed by the birth of wave and quantum mechanics Provides the fundamental equations necessary for interpretation of matter, describing the ensembles of free particles according to the concepts of confinement and asymptotic freedom Establishes a natural connection between the Newtonian forces and the Planck’s law from the point of view of space and time scale transition: both are expressions of invariance to scale transition The work will be of great interest to graduate students, doctoral candidates, and academic researchers working in mathematics and physics.

Scale Relativity And Fractal Space Time A New Approach To Unifying Relativity And Quantum Mechanics written by Laurent Nottale and has been published by World Scientific this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2011-06-17 with Science categories.
This book provides a comprehensive survey of the development of the theory of scale relativity and fractal space-time. It suggests an original solution to the disunified nature of the classical-quantum transition in physical systems, enabling the basis of quantum mechanics on the principle of relativity, provided this principle is extended to scale transformations of the reference system. In the framework of such a newly generalized relativity theory (including position, orientation, motion and now scale transformations), the fundamental laws of physics may be given a general form that unifies and thus goes beyond the classical and quantum regimes taken separately. A related concern of this book is the geometry of space-time, which is described as being fractal and nondifferentiable. It collects and organizes theoretical developments and applications in many fields, including physics, mathematics, astrophysics, cosmology and life sciences.

Fractal Space Time And Microphysics written by Laurent Nottale and has been published by World Scientific this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 1993 with Science categories.
This is the first detailed account of a new approach to microphysics based on two leading ideas: (i) the explicit dependence of physical laws on scale encountered in quantum physics, is the manifestation of a fundamental principle of nature, scale relativity. This generalizes Einstein's principle of (motion) relativity to scale transformations; (ii) the mathematical achievement of this principle needs the introduction of a nondifferentiable space-time varying with resolution, i.e. characterized by its fractal properties. The author discusses in detail reactualization of the principle of relativity and its application to scale transformations, physical laws which are explicitly scale dependent, and fractals as a new geometric description of space-time.

This book aims to present the topic of nonlinear and chaotic dynamics in a manner that is useful and beneficial to students and young researchers from various domains such as physics, mathematics, biology, or even medicine. A very important aspect of that topic is that the constraints of determinism do not imply a regular behavior or do not rely on predictability in describing the dynamics of natural systems. Exploring the evolution of natural systems has a great impact nowadays on a wide range of scientific domains. The dynamics of populations, cardiac fibrillation, communication systems, fluid flow, and atmospheric systems are just a few topics in which nonlinearity and chaos are a regular manifestation. This leads to the idea that it is necessary to find universal laws that govern these dynamics. The aforementioned variety in scientific topics is also sustained by an exponential interest in recent decades from readers in the scientific community and the non-scientific one as well. The book is devoted to the nonlinear and chaotic dynamics topic, a domain that is both trans- and multi-disciplinary and has been the focus of the scientific community in past decades.

The book considers foundational thinking in quantum theory, focusing on the role the fundamental principles and principle thinking there, including thinking that leads to the invention of new principles, which is, the book contends, one of the ultimate achievements of theoretical thinking in physics and beyond. The focus on principles, prominent during the rise and in the immediate aftermath of quantum theory, has been uncommon in more recent discussions and debates concerning it. The book argues, however, that exploring the fundamental principles and principle thinking is exceptionally helpful in addressing the key issues at stake in quantum foundations and the seemingly interminable debates concerning them. Principle thinking led to major breakthroughs throughout the history of quantum theory, beginning with the old quantum theory and quantum mechanics, the first definitive quantum theory, which it remains within its proper (nonrelativistic) scope. It has, the book also argues, been equally important in quantum field theory, which has been the frontier of quantum theory for quite a while now, and more recently, in quantum information theory, where principle thinking was given new prominence. The approach allows the book to develop a new understanding of both the history and philosophy of quantum theory, from Planck’s quantum to the Higgs boson, and beyond, and of the thinking the key founding figures, such as Einstein, Bohr, Heisenberg, Schrödinger, and Dirac, as well as some among more recent theorists. The book also extensively considers the nature of quantum probability, and contains a new interpretation of quantum mechanics, “the statistical Copenhagen interpretation.” Overall, the book’s argument is guided by what Heisenberg called “the spirit of Copenhagen,” which is defined by three great divorces from the preceding foundational thinking in physics—reality from realism, probability from causality, and locality from relativity—and defined the fundamental principles of quantum theory accordingly.

Fourteen years after the first proposal of a fractal theoretical model to understand the dynamics of laser produced plasma, a complete image of the model is projected on a wide range of empirical data related to laser produced plasmas. The book tackles the two sides of laser produced plasmas with experimental data on a wide range of materials, from metallic alloys to geological samples and the associated mathematical model is developed in the multifractal theory of motion. A new perspective is explored in analyzing and interpreting the data collected by electrical or optical methods, focusing especially on the charged particles dynamics and the nature of fractal fluctuations and their influence during measurements as well as to the scattering process and plasma splitting phenomena, all seen through the lens of multifractal physics. The book offers the best presentation of the multifractal theoretical model for the study of transient phenomena in laser produced plasmas, which focus leads to a balanced development of the model showcasing both the flexibility and the unique vision of a multifractal mathematical apparatus.
