The poetry of Rumi is in two parts. The first part is his ecstatic and fiery love poetry. It is a passionate description of the state of awareness he reached after integrating the lessons he and Shams discovered and shared during their time together. This work, which Rumi referred to as the collection of Shams Tabrizi, is a group of poems which give flight to the human spirit in their beautiful and reassuring messages of hope. Many selections from this extensive collection have been translated in to English and are widely available. This first group of his poetry marked a new awareness of spirit for Rumi. Previous to his meeting with Shams in 1244, Rumi was not in this zone of happy and joyful awareness, but more of a stodgy academic whose spirituality was in form, and not proceeding from an inner awareness. Probably, many of Rumi's followers were curious about the transformation that Rumi achieved. What did he learn from Shams? What did they talk about? What were his realizations? What was it like for him to make this shift in awareness? Questions like these may have prompted him to explain the insights he came to realize, and how these new understandings affected him.The changes of awareness he experienced are described in the second part of his poetic work, the six books of the Mathnaw. The process of his transformation is described in many ways, on many levels. The stories he offers present different sets of characters, sometimes human, sometimes animal, but these various players are representative of the inner qualities found inside all human beings. The difficulties of surviving the demands of life, and the yearning to transcend these mundane demands are the topics which Rumi explores, sharing with the reader the understandings he achieved in his own spiritual quest. The basis of Rumi's approach to awareness is found in line 34 of the first book of the Mathnaw, his guide-book for those seeking to learn the means of his transformational process. "Do you know why the mirror of your soul reflects nothing? Because the rust is not cleared from its face." Removing the rust from the heart is, in Sufi terminology, the clearing away of barriers which prevent one from achieving an all-encompassing clear vision. Every-day events swirl around us distracting us from the perceptions which are otherwise available to our awareness. When the mirror of the heart is clear, a true image of life is reflected to the mind, and the mind can participate in the glory of an amazing world of living beings, animate and inanimate, offering their messages of love and joy. When the two wings of the heart and mind are unfolded and work together in unison, the spirit can fly free.Rumi's Mathnaw was translated into English in the early 1900's by Reynold Nicholson. His magnificent translation is now available in an updated version, far more readable while maintaining the accuracy and dignity of Nicholson's original work. Books one and two are available from Amazon, Book 1 ISBN 978-1500539795, Book 2 ISBN 978-1533505651. Book 3 ISBN 978-1536877526. Books 4 and 5 later in 2016. One of the Greatest Persian Classic Book نه نگویم زانک خامی تو هنوز در بهاری تو ندیدستی تموز این جهان همچون درختست ای کرام ما برو چون میوه‌های نیم‌ خام Nay, I will not tell (it), because thou still art unripe thou art in (thy) springtime, thou hast not seen (the month of) Tamúz. This world is even as the tree, O noble ones we are like the half-ripened fruit upon it. Mathnawi Maˈnavi (also known as Masnavi or “Spiritual Couplets of Maulana”) is one of the most influential works of both Sufism and Persian literature. The Masnavi, written by Jalal al-Din Muhammad, Rumi is a series of six books of poetry containing more than 25,000 verses. This spiritual writing teaches Sufis how to reach their goal of being in true love with God. Rumi is one of the best Persian poets and the Mathnawi is his masterpiece. Rumi used Persian and Arabic in his poetry. By the end of the 20th century, Rumi’s popularity had become a global phenomenon, with his poetry achieving a wide circulation in the United States and western Europe. His poems have been translated into many different languages including Turkish, Urdu, French, Turkmen, Spanish, English, Arabic, German, Italian, Albanian, Swedish, etc. Reynold Alleyne Nicholson's translation of Mathnawi is based on the oldest known manuscripts. The prose translation, similarly, is intended to be an exact and faithful guide to the Persian. In Book, the third of six volumes, it intertwines amusing tales with homilies to teach pupils in the understanding of God's meaning. It has a special focus on epistemology, explained with narratives that involve the consumption of food. We are very happy that the Mathnawi Maˈnavi of Rumi has found its way to you! Spiritual Verses written by The Jalaluddin Rumi and has been published by Penguin UK this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2006-09-07 with Poetry categories.

Begun in 1262 AD, Masnavi-ye Ma ‘navi, or ‘spiritual couplets', is thought to be the longest single-authored ‘mystical’ poem ever written. As the spiritual masterpiece of the Persian Sufi tradition, it teaches how to progress to the ultimate goal of the Sufi path - union with God. Jalaloddin Rumi was a poet and a mystic, but he was first a teacher; in these verses he draws the reader into the complexities of human love and separation and explains the path to divine love through the elimination of self-regard and worldly desires. Drawing on diverse sources from bawdy tales and fables to stories of the prophet Mohammed, these verses are brief in expression yet copious in meaning.

Jalaloddin Rumi's Masnavi-ye Ma'navi, or 'Spiritual Couplets', composed in the 13th Century, is a monumental work of poetry in the Sufi tradition of Islamic mysticism. For centuries before his love poetry became a literary phenomenon in the West, Rumi's Masnavi had been revered in the Islamic world as its greatest mystical text. Drawing upon a vast array of characters, stories and fables, and deeply versed in spiritual teaching, it takes us on a profound and playful journey of discovery along the path of divine love, toward its ultimate goal of union with the source of all Truth. In Book Two of the Masnavi, the second of six volumes, we travel with Rumi toward an understanding of the deeper truth and reality, beyond the limits of the self. Alan Williams's authoritative new translation is rendered in highly readable blank verse and includes the original Persian text for reference. True to the spirit of Rumi's poem, this new translation establishes the Masnavi as one of the world's great literary achievements for a global readership. Translated with an introduction, notes and analysis by Alan Williams and including the Persian text edited by Mohammad Este'lami.
