What did Napoleon Bonaparte, Henry Ford, and Andrew Carnegie all have in common as the key to their success? They each had immense confidence in their goals. They left no room or quarter for failure. They had faith. Author Paul Ramseyer takes the works of Napoleon Hill, a leading expert on success, and shows readers how to apply the same principles to their faith in God. Paul discovered how to use this power to drive stage 4 cancer out of his body. He also shows the reader how the Bible commands that requests in prayer be made in faith. He goes on to explain how this required faith is the only method we have to reach our full potential. With examples drawn from the most successful men in history, Paul doesn't just tell you to have faith, but teaches how you, like they, can decide to claim it and then gives detailed instructions how you can put it to work on your behalf. Are people sick, stuck in poverty, or victims to repeating sins? He shows readers that they don't have to be. In faith, all things are possible. With the Mechanics of Faith, readers are able to see how faith works to produce in their lives the results that they have been promised. Paul Ramseyer lives in Bloomfield, Iowa. In 2006, Paul learned from the past masters of industry and technology and the Bible how to drive stage four cancer from his body and is called to teach people everywhere how they too can be overcomers and not mere victims of circumstance.

Today many are breaking upon the meat of the word in revelation and in experience. You can tell who they are because they are learning to speak forth the word of Christ from out of their own spirit (which is "not I but Christ in me"). They have learned who they are in Christ and who Christ is in them. They are on frontiers of spirit and Spirit. They discern a difference between Spirit and spirit. They have discovered what great and glorious thing has been birthed within them. They are the spiritual explorers, the spiritual scientists, and the spiritual vanguard. They are the point of the sword and the tip of the arrow. Their attitude is that of children in a secret clubhouse. They dare to go places their parents have told them are too dangerous. They are overcome with curiosity. What is on the other side of that hill, in the attic, the cellar, and buried long and forgotten within that ancient mound? Many established in the old theology fear to tread in these places. They do not want to know. They already know (or think they know). They know all about that far and secret land. But we want to go forward. It is scary... but it is exciting. We are treading dangerous ground... but that is ok. I expect to get bruised, bumped, and even bit! But I am alive... and I will do exploits in the process. We pause... but He is looking back at us and saying: "are you coming or not?" Yes... we are a bit wild eyed ourselves. The Holy Spirit is not always the gentleman we assume Him to be. He has told me things that have scared me. Things I would not share with anyone (up to now) because they surely would say I was over the edge. I recall one day in the early 80s I was in a deep unto drowning study of Psalms and one of the Prophets. Suddenly I had an epiphany. I took a deep breath, pushed back from the table, and whispered "I do love this so much..." Then, in my mind, as clear as my mother's name, the Spirit said something into me that made me question my own sanity. He said: "I am going to change the world for you." He was not saying the world would be changed for believers or Bible students. He was speaking to me personally. That revelation to me was so real that it has stuck with me for over 20 years and continues to live and manifest in my life. He said He was going to change the world so that it suited me. The world would change to match my loves, my desires, my hopes, and my dreams. Something like that is beyond reason and comprehension. But the spirit does not care if things make sense or not. My mind never has been able to wrap itself around it. Yet things began to happen in the world around me and in my own life! I have found that in the last 20 years, the things that I enjoy in my life have developed and become established in modern culture and society. Things I love have become popular and common. A whole industry (and career) has emerged that did not exist before... one that suits me perfectly. It is as if a tailor has come and measured my heart, tailored and stitched together a world that fits me perfectly. The world around me has become a perfect reflection of my heart. The things of my spirit have externalized and become real. That sounds crazy... I know. But there it is. Grasp this if you dare dear saint: Jesus said that those who believe (and not doubt) they have what they say will have those very things they believe and say. Since we all have believed and said the things that we believe... then we can only conclude one of two things: Your life is a manifestation of the things that you have been believing and saying all your life, (the world you exist in today is the externalization of your personal, heart-spoken belief), or Your life is the encroachment of the world system into the vacuous, chaotic-void left by your own doubt and lack of creative belief.

The Mechanics Of Divine Foreknowledge And Providence written by T. Ryan Byerly and has been published by Bloomsbury Publishing USA this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2014-08-28 with Religion categories.

How exactly could God achieve infallible foreknowledge of every future event, including the free actions of human persons? How could God exercise careful providence over these same events? Byerly offers a novel response to these important questions by contending that God exercises providence and achieves foreknowledge by ordering the times. The first part of the book defends the importance of the above questions. After characterizing the contemporary freedom-foreknowledge debate, Byerly argues that it has focused too narrowly on a certain argument for theological fatalism, which attempts to show that the existence of infallible divine foreknowledge poses a unique threat to the existence of creaturely libertarian freedom. Byerly contends, however, that bare existence of infallible divine foreknowledge cannot threaten freedom in this way; at most, the mechanics whereby this foreknowledge is achieved might so threaten human freedom. In the second part of the book, Byerly develops a model for understanding the mechanics whereby infallible foreknowledge is achieved that would not threaten creaturely libertarian freedom. According to the model, God infallibly foreknows every future event because God has placed the times that constitute the history of the world in primitive earlier-than relations to one another. After defending the consistency of this model of the mechanics of divine foreknowledge with creaturely libertarian freedom, the author applies it to divine providence more generally. A novel defense of concurrentism is the result.

Author Lipton is a former medical school professor and research scientist. His experiments, and those of other leading-edge scientists, have examined in great detail the processes by which cells receive information. The implications of this research radically change our understanding of life. It shows that genes and DNA do not control our biology; that instead DNA is controlled by signals from outside the cell, including the energetic messages emanating from our positive and negative thoughts. Dr. Lipton's profoundly hopeful synthesis of the latest and best research in cell biology and quantum physics is being hailed as a breakthrough, showing that our bodies can be changed as we retrain our thinking.

With an “adroit and self-effacing style,” a Catholic brother, astronomer and physicist explains how scientists and engineers make sense of religion. In God's Mechanics, Brother Guy tells the stories of those who identify with the scientific mindset—so-called “techies”—while practicing religion. A self-decribed techie, astronomer, physicist and Director of the Vatican Observatory, Brother Guy shares some classic philosophical reflections, as well as his interviews with dozens of fellow techies, and his own personal take on his Catholic beliefs to provide, like a set of “worked out sample problems,” the hard data on the challenges and joys of embracing a life of faith as a techie. And he also gives a roadmap of the traps that can befall an unwary techie believer. With lively prose and wry humor, Brother Guy shows how he not only believes in God but gives religion an honored place alongside science in his life. This book offers an engaging look at how—and why—scientists and those with technological leanings can hold profound, “unprovable” religious beliefs while working in highly empirical fields. Through his own experience and interviews with other scientists and engineers who profess faith, Brother Guy explores how religious beliefs and practices make sense to those who are deeply rooted in the world of technology. “Brother Guy Consolmagno speaks in the softest, sanest voice imaginable as he enters the current firestorm of opinion re science and religion. His engaging commentary exposes the mindset of a true ‘techie’—but one who equates science with a sacred act.” —Dava Sobel, author, Galileo’s Daughter

Years ago I was discussing salvation with some friends. Some of them said they knew exactly when they were saved. Some stated that they went down to an alter and "gave their life to Jesus" and were thusly saved. I struggled to try and remember exactly when I was saved and how it came to pass in my life. I was saved in 1971. I was not saved in a church and was not even saved by someone witnessing to me. In fact I did not know any Christians at the time. I worked at a local mall in Pittsburgh and would walk to and from work after school. I was saved by reading a tract. I do not remember where I found it or if someone gave it to me. I remember reading it while walking back from work. Frankly it was not a very good tract, or rather it was not a tract that appealed to the mind of the reader. It was filled with strange pictures that were supposed to represent the heart of a man. It showed Jesus sitting on a throne located in the little man's heart. While I could certainly see what the author was saying, it did not make a lot of sense to me. A throne in your heart? Asking Jesus into your life? It left me wondering what I was supposed to do and how to do it. The good part is that the tract did have scriptures. Of course I read those scriptures along with the parts that made no sense. I kept the tract and read it several times over the period of a few weeks. I bought a little pocket testament and read through it. I cannot tell you exactly when it happened, but at some point it clicked. The Word was inserted into my spirit and I was saved. I do not remember praying or asking the Lord to do anything. I did not see where the Bible said to do or ask such things. So when my friends were talking about when they were saved and decisions that they made, it kind of confused me. I do not remember making a decision or asking the Lord to do anything. I just became aware that I too knew that Jesus was Lord and that He died for my sins. I cannot remember saying "ok, I accept that, I believe that." I do not remember deciding anything along these lines. I just remember "knowing" it was true. E.W. Kenyon said that he never tried to get anyone to believe anything. I can see that. You can imagine trying to talk someone into accepting that invisible things exist. How would you do that? How would you talk someone into accepting that an angel was present in the room with them? The mind exists in the realm of logic and memory. The mind may say the words "I agree, there are invisible things," but that is essentially "magical thinking." This means the words are just being parroted without any understanding behind them. It is like saying "the dog is a cat." That is a grammatically correct sentence, but logically it is just a jumbled collection of words that make no sense. And the mind exists in the realm of sense. This is not faith. I have tried arguing people into belief. The arguing did not work. I have tried rationalizing people into belief. That did not work either. In desperation I have tried playing on their emotions and even their fears. This did not work either, and in fact may have had the opposite effect. We need to return to the simplicity of the Gospel. All these approaches are attempting to get people to make a mental or emotional decision for Christ. They may work occasionally, at least superficially and for short while. If they stick and remain, it is not because of our efforts to convince them. They usually only remain for a period of time proportional to the depth of their dedication, conviction, and emotions. These efforts do not result in salvation because they do not result in actual spiritual belief. Belief does not come by choice or emotional conviction. These are soulical methods used in the realm of the natural. Belief is spiritual. True belief comes by spiritual revelation. You cannot talk someone into belief because faith is a function of the spirit and needs to be acquired by spiritual methods.

The Believing Brain is bestselling author Michael Shermer's comprehensive and provocative theory on how beliefs are born, formed, reinforced, challenged, changed, and extinguished. In this work synthesizing thirty years of research, psychologist, historian of science, and the world's best-known skeptic Michael Shermer upends the traditional thinking about how humans form beliefs about the world. Simply put, beliefs come first and explanations for beliefs follow. The brain, Shermer argues, is a belief engine. From sensory data flowing in through the senses, the brain naturally begins to look for and find patterns, and then infuses those patterns with meaning. Our brains connect the dots of our world into meaningful patterns that explain why things happen, and these patterns become beliefs. Once beliefs are formed the brain begins to look for and find confirmatory evidence in support of those beliefs, which accelerates the process of reinforcing them, and round and round the process goes in a positive-feedback loop of belief confirmation. Shermer outlines the numerous cognitive tools our brains engage to reinforce our beliefs as truths. Interlaced with his theory of belief, Shermer provides countless real-world examples of how this process operates, from politics, economics, and religion to conspiracy theories, the supernatural, and the paranormal. Ultimately, he demonstrates why science is the best tool ever devised to determine whether or not a belief matches reality.

In everyday life we either express our beliefs in all-or-nothing terms or we resort to numerical probabilities: I believe it's going to rain or my chance of winning is one in a million. 'The Stability of Belief' develops a theory of rational belief that allows us to reason with all-or-nothing belief and numerical belief simultaneously.
