My name is Aida Payton and this is my true story. Find out the true word of God inside this book based on my life experiences here in the United States of America and the Philippines. I am the person that never went to school or tutorial and yet Jesus himself taught me, the holy family, Angels and all saints. Find out Gods' or Jesus' name in more than 500 translations into different names. The reason I wrote this book is because a lot of people misinterpreted the word of God and use God's name for war. Example like for Christians and Muslims, killing each other for nothing I would say. I am going to correct this, the way God Jesus teaches me. We're supposed to treat each other like Brothers and Sisters, Uncles and Aunts, Niece and Nephews, Grand Father's and Grand Mother's. We are supposed to respect each other. We are not supposed to be fighting each other because of different religions or because we were raised differently. That is beyond God's Imaginations, so here I am, he sent me to deliver his message to all kinds of people in this world. That's why I have to write his name into different languages because we speak different languages. That's why we call God Jesus in different names. In my next Book I will write how People got deceived by bad spirit. I say this because it happened to me and because of God Almighty's Jesus Christ help, bad spirit no place in his Distractions. He can never win over me. We worship the same God in different names.

A Los Angeles Latina woman living in poverty and hoping for miracles “comes to stunning and heartbreaking life” in this novel from an award-winning author (Newsday). On a hot, still day in May, Amalia Gómez sees—or thinks she sees—a large silver cross in the sky. Does this vision foretell a miracle? The pragmatic, twice-divorced Amalia is doubtful . . . Amalia’s neighborhood—a decaying area near a shabby part of Hollywood Boulevard—is under attack from gang wars and the police. Her live-in boyfriend is behaving suspiciously, her “fast” teenage daughter Gloria has become too much to handle, and her teenage son is hinting he’s in serious trouble. Most of all, Amalia is haunted by thoughts of her past and her first-born, dead in jail under mysterious circumstances. As the epiphanies and small omens of Amalia’s day build to a climax as wondrous as it is shattering, PEN Center USA’s Lifetime Achievement Award–winning author John Rechy takes us into the complicated life of a Chicano family living in Los Angeles—in all its spirited, gritty reality, giving us “a novel with more truth in it than a carload of best-sellers” (The Washington Post). “A fierce book . . . [told in] tough, uninhibited prose.” —Hartford Courant “A vivid and touching novel . . . Rough, heartbreaking . . . Rechy is masterful.” —San Antonio Express-News “A triumph, a sad, beautiful and loving book rooted in cultural experience as well as deep intuition.” —Newsday “[An] ardently feminist piece of writing. By portraying her abusive past, the poverty and the narrow choices facing Amalia G[ó]mez, Rechy illuminates the plight of certain minority women who remain locked in the dark ages of female emancipation, shut off from any help . . . Amalia G[ó]mez may be the main character, but poverty and ignorance, injustice and fear, are the real subjects of this engaging novel.” —Los Angeles Times

The White Man In The Tree written by Mark Kurlansky and has been published by Random House this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2012-02-29 with Fiction categories.

The White man in the Tree is a comedy of cultural misunderstanding set in the Caribbean, New York and Paris, a novella and eight stories about people who, because of their differences - between men and women, blacks and whites, Jews and Christians, rich and poor - misjudge each other. Celebrated for his non-fiction, Mark Kurlansky is equally at home with fiction: he has an ability to unmask our foibles and write about love with great wit and humour.Whether it is a sophisticated European filmmaker, an ambitious young black Haitian woman, a promising politician obsessed with women's feet, or a fish-out-of-water rabbi in search of a kosher chicken in Curacao, each of Kurlansky's characters engages us with impulses and interactions that are by turns comic, insightful and poignant. The White Man in the Tree is an affectionate portrait of a unique society, where Europe, America, Africa and Asia meet Latin America. Filled with surprises and delight as Kurlansky approaches each scene from a new and unexpected angle, The White Man in the Tree is a tender, wholly original and thoroughly entertaining fiction debut.
