I'm not a musician. Not that I haven't tried. My brain just doesn't seem to be wired for it. I'm not a student of music either, at least not in the academic sense. I don't work in music, but I do listen to music while I work. And I'm definitely not a music nerd. By that I mean I don't memorize who's in what band or who produced whatever album. The point I'm trying to make is, there's no good reason why I should be writing a book about my personal music history, other than the fact that music is everything to me. Music has a hold on so many of us. It comforts us. It pumps us up. It helps us celebrate. It gets us through difficult times. It causes us to film ourselves doing strange dances in our kitchens, which we then post online for the approval of strangers. (Well, maybe you do. Not me.) Of course, I'm not unique in my love of music, but I am unique in the role it's played in my life. Music means something different to everyone. The music I've listened to throughout my time on this big floating rock has helped shape who I am. It's an indelible part of my past, and it continues to shape my present. This is my story-my music story. Thanks for taking a listen.

My Time Most people live their lives on a day to day basis. Our planning calendar is booked for three to seven days in the future. We seldom take a step back and look at recent events in perspective. This book is intended to provide that perspective look at events that shaped the course of our lives.
