THE NEW TESTAMENT was written in Koine Greek during the first century AD. From the time of its original revelation, handwritten copies continually were prepared in order tomaintain and preserve that original text into the modern era. All copies made prior to the invention of movable-type printing were made by hand, resulting in various scribal alterations, most of these being of a minor nature. Although the autographs no longer exist and no two manuscript copies are completely identical, sufficient evidence exists by which one can produce an accurate representation of the original text by comparing and evaluating the overall manuscript consensus. Robinson and Pierpont have taken the utmost care in preparing that text for this edition.Various other methods for restoration of the original NT text have fallen short of their goal, in part due to methodological subjectivity, and in part to a presuppositional bias against the claims of the Byzantine Textform. The texts created under such a bias tend to be based on only a handful of favored manuscripts, and fail to consider all transmissional factors in the preservation of the original text. As a result, the modern eclectic texts tend to preserve more of a caricature than the essence of the originals.In contrast, Robinson and Pierpont have applied many of the same methods of textual criticism to their task, but without the anti-Byzantine bias. Their method of "reasoned transmissionalism" is based on the wider scope of manuscript transmission throughout history. The preface of this edition explains the basic method by which the present editors have arrived at their basic text. The appendix contains Robinson's essay, "The Case for Byzantine Priority," which presents a rationale for and defense of the theory and methodology that has been applied in the preparation of this edition.

It is very easy to have access to it on the internet, through apps, etc. I encourage the Bible student to use it, study it, promote it with confidence. This book presents the expositions by these two great scholars concerning the superiority of the Byzantine (Majority) Text form found in the 2005 edition of their Greek text published by Chilton Publishing. The Greek text of the Gospel of John has been added as a sample of the accuracy of their work. Also because of their contribution, we can boldly say that the case for the reliability of the biblical text has been clearly stated: it has been handed down through the centuries by manuscripts and edited by the valuable textual critics of our time. This is a semi-condensed version of the public domain 2005 Byzantine Textform. It is from the current 2005/2010 file(s) given to us by Maurice Robinson one of the original authors on 9/8/2016. We have cleaned up all the inconsistencies in footnotes being out of alignment. We hope all the {footnotes} are arranged properly and in order. In this version all of the original end footnotes that discussed variations with the minority text N/A & USB compilations are left in so you can see the variation between the minority texts and the pure Byzantine Textform. If you wish to have only the pure Byzantine Textform 2005/2010 please search for "1540415589" on amazon. All the original preface and discussions are removed. The original book is available on Google Books and you should absolutely read those once. This is just one more book in the series of books for people to own to double check or correct anything in the "Modern Literal Version N.T" which is not, "Thus saith the Greek." This was left in block verse format but the original paragraphs are now separated by a blank line. Curly braces "{}" are used as footnotes. {B ... are Byzantine & {N ... are N/A & USB variations. Standard braces " [ ]" are used for possible omissions. The "{Acts 24:6b-8a Byzantine Variant: ...}" is inserted in the text. The "{John 7:53-8:11 PA Byzantine Variant: ...}" is found at the end of John 8:11. Verse numbering was based off of the 1550 Textus Receptus and 4 of those verses are omitted in the Byzantine Textform. We put in the verse numbers with a footnote. The pure Byzantine Textform is the Greek text used in the Modern Literal Version, www.MLVbible.org. Please check the website for any future updates in electronic formats.
