NB THIS IS THE BLACK & WHITE VERSION.The Numerical Universe sets out to show that there exists a primordial, numerical, geometric and musical structure to the Universe. The proposal is simply that there is only order in the universe; that there is no chaos and that we are not all here by virtue of some incredible stroke of luck. The universe is instead shown to be the effect produced by a perfectly balanced, always in equilibrium, numerical order, inherent to the decimal system of numbers 0 to 9.The book starts with a look at the numerical structure and how the decimal system of numbers work in specific pairs and groups, making use of modular arithmetic - the reader won't need any formal mathematical training to follow the arguments and analysis. In the second section there is analysis of the group of 20 amino acids which are common to all life and which reveal the canonical, numerical, geometric and ultimately musical biological template that pervades the created Universe. The final section of the book demonstrates how the Integer Partition Table of Numbers might well be the numerical algorithm used to create and structure the whole of the universe. Numbers are seen to organise themselves in such a way that they unfold as an elegant geometric integration to produce a holographic universe.Hard evidence of this ancient knowledge may be found in analysis of the Great Pyramid, Stonehenge, famous cathedrals like Wells and Chartres, and all the megalithic sites, that are shouting this numerical canon that it may never be lost. The theory offers extraordinary new insights into the central question of natural philosophy, the origin of the Fine Structure Constant, the force that essentially holds us and the universe together and that stops us from flying apart, and the famous number 137, that has so obsessed some of the greatest thinkers of the 20th Century.Enduring mysteries concerning Prime Numbers, Photosynthesis, Plato, Dante's 55 Stelle, the 153 Fish in the Bible, and the SATOR Square recovered from the ruins of Pompeii - all can be readily explained and understood by application of this number theory which can potentially project our learning and advancement like no theory yet conceived. This effort has pieced together the work of many great men and women and it is by standing upon their shoulders that this theory of everything can come to you at all. Otherwise, I have simply let intuition be my guide and have been rewarded by a flow of incredible synchronicity that has allowed me to progress the theory to this stage. Without claiming to have all the answers by any means the hope is that this work will provide the inspiration for the research of many others. It feels like I have opened a crack in a door that has been shut for a very long time.

"The first study to go beyond simple number symbolism and systematically embrace not only thematic elements but the construction of the entire manuscript in a fashion that credibly explains a number of puzzling elements ranging from the serial arrangement of the poems to the placement of decorated initials in the manuscript. . . . probably the most interesting, challenging , and provocative study of the Pearl poems written in the last two decades."--Julian Wasserman, Loyola University of New Orleans Edward Condren examines the manuscript of the Gawain-Pearl Poet in the light of a compositional method well recognized from the literature of ancient Greece and Rome through the Renaissance but largely overlooked by modern criticism. Arguing that the manuscript is a single integrated artifact and not merely a collection, he shows that it is held together, as is the universe, by mathematical equations called the Divine Proportion in the Middle Ages and phi by modern mathematicians. More than a critical study of four poems in a manuscript, Condren's detailed discussion of numeric theory reveals the medieval way of understanding the created universe in neo-Pythagorean and Platonic terms, and it underscores the importance of the quadrivium in the medieval view of an ordered universe. Drawing on medieval theories of proportion and harmony, Condren shows that the manuscript is more intricately designed and presented than anyone has yet recognized and that the poet who created this work was better educated and more self-consciously brilliant than most have imagined. He argues that the order in which the poems appear--with the two poems set in the Middle Ages placed at the beginning and end of the manuscript and the two set in the Judaic era located at the manuscript's center--allows the literal narratives to exfoliate historically from the Old Testament world, through the era of the New Testament, and implicitly to the salvation that lies beyond. Working poem by poem, Condren details the mathematical forms governing the structure of the manuscript and guiding its progress, from the calculated use of decorated initials to sophisticated mathematics involving squares, primes, different counting systems, and geometrical schemes of the pentangle and ultimately the cross. Condren shows how the anonymous poet takes literally the scriptural statement that all things are disposed according to number, weight, and measure as a means to bridge the worlds of flesh and spirit. By fashioning a mathematically harmonious manuscript, suffusing it with the progressive development of theological belief, and placing its characters in the dilemmas of earthly living, Condren argues, the poet replicates the harmony of the universe and the difficulty human beings have in attempting to embrace it. Edward I. Condren is professor of English at UCLA.

Cosmic Numbers written by James D Stein and has been published by Basic Books this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2011-09-06 with Science categories.

Our fascination with numbers begins when we are children and continues throughout our lives. We start counting our fingers and toes and end up balancing checkbooks and calculating risk. So powerful is the appeal of numbers that many people ascribe to them a mystical significance. Other numbers go beyond the supernatural, working to explain our universe and how it behaves. Cosmic Numbers, mathematics professor James D. Stein traces the discovery, evolution, and interrelationships of the numbers that define our world. Everyone knows about the speed of light and absolute zero, but numbers like Boltzmann's constant and the Chandrasekhar limit are not as well known, and they do far more than one might imagine: They tell us how this world began and what the future holds. Much more than a gee-whiz collection of facts and figures, Cosmic Numbers illuminates why particular numbers are so important -- both to the scientist and to the rest of us.

This edition includes exclusive bonus material from the Douglas Adams archives, and an introduction by Simon Brett, producer of the original radio broadcast. Following a number of stunning catastrophes, which have involved him being alternately blown up and insulted in ever stranger regions of the Galaxy, Arthur Dent is surprised to find himself living in a cave on prehistoric Earth. However, just as he thinks that things cannot get possibly worse, they suddenly do. An eddy in the space-time continuum lands him, Ford Prefect, and their flying sofa in the middle of the cricket ground at Lord's, just two days before the world is due to be destroyed by the Vogons. Escaping the end of the world for a second time, Arthur, Ford, and their old friend Slartibartfast embark (reluctantly) on a mission to save the whole galaxy from fanatical robots. Discover how mathematical sequences abound in our natural world in this definitive exploration of the geography of the cosmos You need not be a philosopher or a botanist, and certainly not a mathematician, to enjoy the bounty of the world around us. But is there some sort of order, a pattern, to the things that we see in the sky, on the ground, at the beach? In A Beginner's Guide to Constructing the Universe, Michael Schneider, an education writer and computer consultant, combines science, philosophy, art, and common sense to reaffirm what the ancients observed: that a consistent language of geometric design underpins every level of the universe, from atoms to galaxies, cucumbers to cathedrals. Schneider also discusses numerical and geometric symbolism through the ages, and concepts such as periodic renewal and resonance. This book is an education in the world and everything we can't see within it. Contains numerous b&w photos and illustrations.

But without observation and experiment as their guide, are they now doing 'fairy-tale physics' as their detractors claim? In The Universe Speaks in Numbers, Graham Farmelo argues that today's greatest scientific minds are working in a tradition that dates back to Newton. He takes us on an adventure, from the Enlightenment to the breakthroughs of Einstein and Dirac, to the work of modern physicists and mathematicians shedding light on each other's disciplines, to their mutual surprise and excitement. This blossoming relationship is responsible for huge advances in our understanding of space and time - and as Farmelo explains, could redefine reality as we know it.LISTEN TO THE ACCOMPANYING PODCAST featuring interviews with leading scientists at www.grahamfarmelo.com

THE ORIGIN OF NUMERICAL SYSTEMS. "Every cosmogony, from the earliest to the latest, is based upon, interlinked with, and most closely related to, numerals and geometrical figures." " The Secret Doctrine, Blavatasky, III, 69." "So teach us to number our days, that we may apply our hearts unto wisdom." " Psalms, xc, 12. "God is a Number endowed with motion, which is felt but not demonstrated." " Balzac. Mathematics is the only exact science; the only whose propositions are capable of conclusive proof and demonstration. All other so-called "exact sciences" are based upon assumptions, deductions and "working hypotheses" which are more or less useful until further investigation and discovery proves them to be but partial truths. And in these days of rapid progress, the changes of base in the "exact sciences" are so frequent that the scientific text-books have to be rewritten every few years, so rapidly are the materialistic conceptions of matter and the universe outgrown. Only 3 centuries ago the "exact science" of the day was unanimous in the opinion that the earth was flat, and opposed the idea of the infinity of the universe and the plurality of worlds to such a degree that its leaders burned Giordano Bruno at the stake for daring to oppose their dictum. Within a decade or 2 "exact science" ridiculed the Within a decade or 2 "exact science" ridiculed the possibility of the transmutation of metals, classing it as a mere vagary of unbalanced mystics, yet today we have the transmutations of metals going on in many laboratories as a matter of course. Only a few years ago we were taught that the atom was a particleof matter, but today the same "exact science" asks us to believe that it is not "matter" at all, but the union of 2 units of force called "electrons." The facts as taught by the mystics of all ages remain; modern interpretation of them evolves and expands. Words are symbols of ideas, but numbers are symbols of divine realities; spiritual verities eternal in the heavens, which express themselves periodically in the worlds of objectivity."If as Pythagoras said: 'The world is built upon the power of numbers, ' then numbers must be the key to the understanding of the world." "They are a key to the ancient views on cosmogony, in its broad sense, including man and beings, and the evolution of the human race, aslpilryituas well as physically. "Hence we find numbers and figures used as an expression and a record of thought in every archaic symbolical scripture. They are ever the same, with certain variations only, arising from the first figures." Following Prof. Max Midler, it is commonly accepted that our present numerical system was invented by the Arabs, for he tells us that, "The two words cipher and zero, which are but one, are sufficient to prove that our figures are borrowed from the Arabs." As a matter of fact the system was introduced into Europe by Pythagoras, who found it already fully developed in India. It is true that later the system was widely spread by Arab traders, but they also obtained it from India. Prof. Muller later admits this origin himself when he says elsewhere: "Cipher is the Arabic cipron, which means simply, a translation of the Sanskrit Unveiled, Blavatsky, II, 407. ' The Secret Doctrine, Blavatsky, I, 341. The Origin of Numerical Systems Sanskrit name of nought." * Among the Hebrews the kabalistic word Sephiroth also corresponds to the word cipher, not in the sense of nothing, but rather in the sense of containing within itself the powers of creation by number and degrees of evolution, although as yet unmanifested, hence a void.
