?A new commandment I give unto you, that ye love one another; as I have loved you...' John 13:34 What does love have to do with it ? your life, your happiness, your fulfillment? Everything! All of the law, all of the prophets, and all of God's commands can be summed up in two commands: love the Lord your God with all your heart, all your soul, and all your might; and love your neighbor as yourself. In John 13:34, Jesus gives us an updated version of the second command, He says: Love One Another as I have Loved You. To truly obey God, and therefore be positioned to receive the fullness of all God wants you to have, you need to learn to love your brothers and sisters in the Lord - fervently - not only in word, but also in deed. This timely book reveals:- What Jesus really meant when He said to Love - How Much God expects us to Love One Another - The Ten ways our Love Manifest toward Each Other - The Role of Keeping the Unity of the Faith in Winning the World to Jesus Discover how to fully walk in obedience to the One Another Principle. Only then will you be fulfilling the will of God for your life and walking in the fullness of all God wants you to walk. Not only that, but then you will be at one with others in Christ which is one of the most effective witnesses to an unbelieving world of the love of God in Christ Jesus.

A vision-casting view of fellowship and an in-depth analysis of the dynamics that make it work! "Fellowship" is a word that nearly everyone thinks they understand -- but the biblical vision of fellowship extends far beyond what most small groups attempt to achieve. This thought-provoking volume traces this deficiency to a failure to adequately examine the "one another" principles in the Bible. When these principles are examined in depth, they provide a more challenging -- and more satisfying -- vision of the fellowship experience God wants His people to enjoy. Phillips identifies 30 essential "one another" principles found in Scripture, and offers a detailed yet accessible study of each, emphasizing how they constitute God's instruction manual for effectively living out our faith together. Each chapter is full of practical insights and contains "points to ponder" to help stimulate further discussion and reflection, along with exercises for putting these principles into action.

Jesus commanded his disciples to love one another. It's a simple command to understand, but very difficult to obey. And in the local church, it sometimes seems impossible. Many of us belong to highly diverse Christian communities, where we encounter people radically different from ourselves. At the same time, controversies and difficulties often threaten to tear us apart. So how can we achieve unity within the body of Christ? Gerald Sittser examines the 'one another' statements from the New Testament, distilling much-needed biblical wisdom to help us love one another. Drawing on his own pastoral experience of the best and worst of church life, he shows us what the love Jesus commanded actually requires of us, and how to live it out in struggle and servanthood, compromise and sacrifice. This enjoyable book by a best-selling author will guide us in putting one of the most important biblical principles into practice, for the good of our local churches.

Thankfully, God has given each of us a conscience to align our wills with his and help us make wise decisions. Examining all thirty New Testament passages that touch on the conscience, Andrew Naselli and J. D. Crowley help readers get to know their consciences—a largely neglected topic—and engage with other Christians who hold different convictions. Offering guiding principles and answering critical questions about how the conscience works and how to care for it, this book shows how the conscience impacts our approach to church unity, ministry, and more.

As a local church, we are to function in harmony as the body of Christ. As in any relationship, working together does not come automatically but takes the concentrated effort of each part. We must LEARN to interact with one another according to the principles of God. As the Psalmist exclaimed, "Behold, how good and how pleasant it is for brethren to dwell together in unity" (Psa. 133:1). It is in this unity that the light of Jesus will be most brilliantly reflected and the work of the Lord most effectively accomplished. In this series of lessons, we will focus on a phrase that occurs about 99 times in the New Testament - "one another." In the original language, this phrase is actually from one word "allelon" and is used in about 60 contexts in ways which help us understand our responsibilities to each other. This series of lessons focuses on understanding these contexts to reflect this "one another" Christianity. These lessons are designed to be growth sessions, not gripe sessions. If anything is accomplished, each of us must begin with application to self before making constructive comments about the actions of others.

Pastoral Principles The Course written by The Pastoral Advisory Group of the House of Bishops and has been published by Church House Publishing this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2021-04-30 with Religion categories.

How can we learn to relate better to one another across the differences and diversity that we find in our church communities? This five-session course is designed to help identify the roadblocks that can so easily hinder us from understanding each other better and loving each other more deeply. The course encourages us to find creative ways to grow and learn together in the love of God. The course is based on the Church of England’s Pastoral Principles for Living Well Together. These Principles identify six ‘pervading evils’ that hinder our growth as Christians, hurt other people and create barriers that stop our churches from growing into Christian communities of welcome and belonging. Each session focuses on one or two of these ‘evils’ and includes resources for Bible study, refection, discussion and worship. Free accompanying videos are available via www.churchofengland.org/PAG By exploring these in our everyday lives and relationships, the course helps us to play our part in seeking unity in our church communities as well as in the wider community. It can be used to explore particular topics about which there is disagreement, or used simply as a means of becoming a community that lives more fully in the way of Christ.
