The Strangers, a breathtaking companion to Vermette's bestselling debut The Break, is a fierce exploration of of bonds that refuse to be broken even in the most traumatic of circumstances. Cedar, Phoenix, and Elsie—these are the strangers, each haunted in her own way. Cedar grapples with the pain of being separated from her mother, Elsie, and her sister, Phoenix. From a youth detention center, Phoenix gives birth to a baby she'll never get to raise. And Elsie, struggling with addiction and determined to turn her life around, is buoyed by the idea of being reunited with her daughters and striving to be someone they can depend on, unlike her own distant mother. Between flickering moments of warmth and support, the women diverge and reconnect, fighting to survive in a fractured system that pretends to offer success but expects them to fail. Facing the distinct blade of racism from those they trusted most, they urge one another to move through the darkness, all the while wondering if they'll ever emerge safely on the other side.

Information And Interaction written by Ian T. Durham and has been published by Springer this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2016-12-09 with Science categories.

In this essay collection, leading physicists, philosophers, and historians attempt to fill the empty theoretical ground in the foundations of information and address the related question of the limits to our knowledge of the world. Over recent decades, our practical approach to information and its exploitation has radically outpaced our theoretical understanding - to such a degree that reflection on the foundations may seem futile. But it is exactly fields such as quantum information, which are shifting the boundaries of the physically possible, that make a foundational understanding of information increasingly important. One of the recurring themes of the book is the claim by Eddington and Wheeler that information involves interaction and putting agents or observers centre stage. Thus, physical reality, in their view, is shaped by the questions we choose to put to it and is built up from the information residing at its core. This is the root of Wheeler’s famous phrase “it from bit.” After reading the stimulating essays collected in this volume, readers will be in a good position to decide whether they agree with this view.

Each person has a unique conditioning and belief structure that create his perspective in which he views reality. The world than interfaces witheach person to create a reality that conforms to his beliefs. A person's conditioning and beliefs affect his attitudes and emotions, which then magnetize certain energies that resonate to his state of being. Culture is the key for lasting success! As Peter Drucker already knew "Culture eats strategy for breakfast"! We can have the best vision, the best strategy or the best processes the world has ever imagined - as long as our culture does not support that, our activities will lead nowhere. This is a nice explanation for why approximately 70% of big corporate transformations fail to produce the intended results. The necessity of sustainably improving the corporate culture becomes also evident in diverse empirical studies: According to, e.g., Gallup, the culture in most (western) organizations is far from being open, empowering, honest and motivating. As a result, in fact, the average employee spends his time at work being rather demotivated and disengaged. What a waste of precious lifetime and resources! As a result, working on and improving the corporate culture should be at the very heart of every corporate transformation! But how to do so? Change can be fun! People CAN enjoy change! Certain elements can make the change a success! Be inspired by our practice and evidence-based thinking of how change works - to make it work for you! The LxAxR=I formula depicts the ocean of change in a simple and comprehensible way: To generate desired Impact you need to get the Leadership, Approach and Resources right - at the same time. This approach is very different from any other change approach we know and builds on more than 100 transformations which we have been running. And it works! Follow us on exploring the formula and make it work for you!
