In the early 1990's Mobstyle rose up from the New York streets to build one of the largest cocaine empires in history. The crew was so well-known that it was immortalized in the major motion picture "Paid in Full." Yet even as they were becoming celebrities, its crew members struck fear in the city. Mobstyle: The True Story of My Brush with Death and the Betrayal of Alpo is a compelling glimpse into the New York drug trade in the 1990's, as described by the man who lived it. It's also an inspiring narrative of redemption. You can't trust anyone when it comes to the drug game. This was one of the things Wip Wop learned on the streets during the height of the New York drug war, and betrayal was the second. He was introduced to the infamous drug dealer Alpo Martinez who was involved in countless murders. When Alpo was indicted on drug and murder charges in the 1990's he struck a deal with the government and agreed to become an informant. This is a story about growing up and running with Harlem's famed hustlers, the betrayal that came with it, and their rise and fall as members of the rap group and drug crew Mobstyle. Wip Wop is a clothing designer who was a part of the rap group Mobstyle. He currently resides on the east coast with his life partner. He is a dedicated father of two, who still makes music in his free time.

James Joyce's Finnegans Wake is a literary masterpiece that defies conventional description. Published in 1939, this enigmatic novel stands as one of the most complex and challenging works in the English language. Set in a dream-like landscape, Finnegans Wake delves into the subconscious mind, blurring the boundaries between reality and myth, language and music, past and present. At its heart lies the story of the mythical figure of HCE (Here Comes Everybody), his wife ALP (Anna Livia Plurabelle), and their children, as they navigate a world teeming with cryptic allusions, linguistic puzzles, and literary references. Through a kaleidoscopic blend of languages, dialects, and wordplay, Joyce crafts a narrative that is both bewildering and mesmerizing. Finnegans Wake is a linguistic tour de force, challenging readers to unravel its intricate layers of meaning and interpretation. It is a work that invites exploration, experimentation, and endless speculation, leaving an indelible mark on the landscape of modern literature. Joyce's magnum opus continues to fascinate and perplex readers, cementing its place as a seminal work of British literary history. JAMES JOYCE [1882-1941], Irish author, is a key figure in modernist literature with works such as Dubliners [1914], A Portrait of the Artist as a Young Man [1916], and Ulysses [1922].

Do you love Philadelphia? Do you love good writing? Well, this is the book for you. It's about the people of Philadelphia--the good, the fine, and the imperfect. Yes, the sports heroes are here--Mike Schmidt, Julius ("Dr. J.") Erving. And the politicians--Ed Rendell, John Street. And the moguls--Brian Roberts, Comcast honcho. And the would-be moguls--Mark Yagalla, world-class embezzler. And so many more, including--writing in their own words--Terry Gross, Patti LaBelle, W. Wilson Goode, Sr., Judy Wicks, Judith Rodin, and Smarty Jones (proving that this horse is no one-trick pony). And so many more--25 of them in all. The people--and the horse--who have meant something to this city during the last 20 years. Ripped from the pages of Philadelphia magazine (well, OK, carefully removed and lovingly pasted into this book), here are profiles of the people who made an era.
