he insights Vince has received from his daily reading of the Bible from 1974 to the present day are quite different than ninety-five percent of what is taught in churches of all denominations today. He will challenge Christians to re-examine some of the most commonly held beliefs today, such as; God loves you unconditionally, By faith only are you saved, and God hears all prayers. Vince asks, "What does the Bible really say about these statements?" and concludes that perhaps "obedience is better than gratitude or worship," and that "with love you actually can fulfill the Law!" The P Lerinage Allegories Of Guillaume De Deguileville written by Marco Nievergelt and has been published by Boydell & Brewer Ltd this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2013 with Literary Criticism categories.

New essays on the unjustly neglected Pèlerinage works by de Guileville, showing in particular its huge contemporary influence. The fourteenth-century French pilgrimage allegories of Guillaume de Deguileville (or "Digulleville") shaped late medieval and early modern European culture. Portions of the Pèlerinage de Vie Humaine, Pèlerinage de l'Ame and Pèlerinage de Jhesucrist survive in more than eighty medieval manuscripts and translations into English, German, Dutch, Castilian and Latin appeared by the early sixteenth century, along with adaptations into Frenchprose and dramatic forms and numerous early printed editions. This volume furnishes a better understanding of the allegories' circulation, creation and importance from the 1330s into the 1560s, via trans-national, multilingual and interdisciplinary perspectives. The collection's first section, on "Tradition", identifies the patterns that developed as Deguileville's corpus captured the attentions of adaptors, annotators and illustrators. The second section, on "Authority", addresses the cultural context of Deguileville himself, his approach to poetic craft and the status of his French and Latin poetry. The third section, on "Influence", closely examines selected connections between the Pèlerinages and the literary productions of later authors, translators and reading communities, including the French verse of Philippe de Mézières, Castilian print adaptation, and the early modern Croatian novel.Overall, the collection provides a variety of approaches to examining literary reception, attending not only to texts but also to evidence of surviving manuscripts and early printed editions; it offers new insights into a rich and complex allegorical corpus and its impact on European literary history. Marco Nievergelt is a Maître-Assistant in Early English Literature in the English department of the University of Lausanne.Stephanie A. Viereck Gibbs Kamath studies English and French medieval literature, with a particular interest in allegory, translation studies, and the history of the material text. Spirituality: Inner Armor provides an antidote to the toxic effects that evil has in the lives of peace officers. True-life police stories from front-line officers portray the reality of evil actions and it’s effects in the lives of everyone involved. When police officers are strong in mind, body, and spirit they can serve with humility, courage, compassion, and hope because they see opportunities to be change agents in society and refuse to succumb to cynicism, apathy, and despair. An informed spirituality that is open to wisdom will lead to an interior peace and harmonic congruence in the inner person that will necessarily reveal itself in outer actions. Peace officers who are willing to constantly grow in knowledge and practice of inner armor spirituality will find tranquility amidst chaos, peace during war, and right action in perplexity. Those who are willing to engage in the battle with evil will have battered shields and dented armor, but the inner armor of spirituality will sustain, renew and guide the guardians of society into the harbor of peace.

To give us a better understanding of the Catholic Faith, in Characters of the Passion Fulton J. Sheen returns us to Calvary. There he dramatically brings to life in brief but penetrating characterizations many who played important roles in the "Eternal Drama of the Cross." Peter, Judas, Pilate, Herod, Barabbas, and others make an appearance, and through them the author shows us new aspects of the glory of the Faith. Fulton Sheen was unparalleled in his ability to combine theology, devotion, and the profoundest meditations on the central events of the Christian narrative. His writing is a message of inspiration to all: to those wavering in their beliefs he brings comfort and strength; to others he affirms the knowledge that true faith is the most powerful weapon in the world today, ever-ready to meet the challenges of modern life.
