"Delightful and Inspiring" - Kim Stallwood, author of Growl: Life Lessons, Hard Truths, and Bold Strategies from an Animal Advocate "The Pig Who Made it Big" is a rhyming picture book about a pig whose life suddenly changes after a film crew comes to shoot a movie on the farm. The director takes a shine to the pig and notices how intelligent and talented she is. She gets along very well with Ronnie, the director's dog. An unexpected incident makes the pig realize that others regard her as fundamentally different to Ronnie just because she is a pig. Luckily, not everyone sees her like this. The story is inspired by the true story of actor Branko Duric Duro who adopted a pig after finding out that the pigs used in a film he was working on were slaughtered afterwards, which would not have happened if they were dogs. This book highlights speciesism between animals considered as pets by humans and those that are not. It promotes the notion that all animals should be treated with the same respect and love. This book, like all of Vucic Dekic's other picture books, is suitable for children of all ages. It contains no violence or mature themes, no adult language, does not depict any drinking, smoking, or other vices, and does not promote consumer culture. It is intended to be wholesome, animal-friendly, positive family entertainment. Dragana Vucic Dekic, Ph.D., is an author of humorous short stories, poems and picture books. She holds a PhD in humor theory and stand-up comedy and has worked as a TV presenter and a cultural program producer. Dragana is also a professor of literature and has launched drama workshops that foster a sense of humor in children. Her children's books promote animal rights and empathy toward all animals while encouraging creative thinking to dispel the various prejudices that exist in the modern world. She has won an award for her humorous travel stories which are published on her blog, www.momthemuse.com.

Unlikely pig owners Steve and Derek got a whole lot more than they bargained for when the designer micro piglet they adopted turned out to be a full-sized 600-pound sow! This funny, inspirational story shows how families really do come in all shapes and sizes. In the summer of 2012, Steve Jenkins was contacted by an old friend about adopting a micro piglet. Though he knew his partner Derek wouldn't be enthusiastic, he agreed to take the adorable little pig anyway, thinking he could care for her himself. Little did he know, that decision would change his and Derek's lives forever. It turned out there was nothing "micro" about Esther, and Steve and Derek had actually signed on to raise a full-sized commercial pig. Within three years, Tiny Esther grew to a whopping 600 pounds. After some real growing pains and a lot of pig-sized messes, it became clear that Esther needed much more space, so Steve and Derek made another life-changing decision: they bought a farm and opened the Happily Ever Esther Farm Sanctuary, where they could care for Esther and other animals in need. Funny, heartwarming, and utterly charming, Esther the Wonder Pig follows Steve and Derek's adventure--from reluctant pig parents to farm-owning advocates for animals. Big Pig Little Pig written by Jacqueline Yallop and has been published by Penguin UK this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2017-07-06 with Biography & Autobiography categories.

As heard on BBC Radio 4's Book of the Week 'A delightful and entertaining memoir' Woman and Home When Jacqueline moves to south-west France with her husband, she embraces rural village life and buys two pigs to rear for slaughter. But as she gets to know the animals better, her English sentimentality threatens to get in the way and she begins to wonder if she can actually bring herself to kill them. This is a memoir about that fateful decision, but it's also about the ethics of meat eating in the modern age, and whether we should know, respect and even love the animals we eat. At its heart, this book is a love story, exploring the increasing attachment of the author for her particular pigs, and celebrating the enduring closeness of humans and pigs over the centuries.

Can't a wolf just get some bacon? Authored by YouTuber Kyle Exum, Trap 3 Little Pigs is a modern twist of the original Three Little Pigs tale. Complimented by the "Trap 3 Little Pigs" song, the story involves a hungry wolf who just needs an entree for his dinner date, as well as three intelligent and athletic pigs. Although the story is structured as a children's book, the mixture of modern pop culture references and relatable humor is meant to be enjoyed by all ages. The words in this version of the story are modified from the lyrics in the "Trap 3 Little Pigs" song to be friendlier to young readers.
