An endeavor of love, is the only way to aptly depict the motivation and deep love flowing from her heart into this poetry compilation from the outside to the inside. Beyond My Reach is unique in that it was written from the free world to an incarcerated lover. With much love, more than 200 poems were written to express the intense love thriving within this lonely sweetheart during the last four years, the length of their heated romance from a distance. Ms. Sapphire's amorous declarations of devotion were the only inspiration needed to profess her passion and write the first poem, I Close My Eyes. She never imagined then, the poetry would someday amass into a quantity great enough to fill a book. Written solely to verbalize new emotions of love, each poem in this book was inspired by one young man confined behind tall concrete walls and razor wire of the penal system... ---------------------------------- BEYOND THE WALLS Each day you face a dismal existence Wondering what's beyond that prison wall So many youthful years you've wasted What made you err, you barely recall Double locked doors quarantine your life In triple layered concrete cages Tall dual fences, loops of razor wire Stand sentinel over inmates of all ages Incarceration has taken a deadly toll on you Never trusting, dreading each new dawn Privacy embezzled by constant vigilance Leaves you silent, fearful and withdrawn The world is soon forgotten behind the walls As you obey endless, ever-changing rules Constantly watching your back, danger lurks Fearing brawls, protecting your family jewels Being an inmate with untainted record Double locked doors will surely open for you Living on the outside can soon resume You've learned your lesson, freedom is overdue Your true love awaits you beyond those walls When you're thrust from that dismal womb Born again to embark on a new journey You'll emerge from your dungeon of doom. The Selected Poems Of Fulke Greville written by Fulke Greville and has been published by University of Chicago Press this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2009-05-15 with English poetry categories.

Along with his childhood friend Sir Philip Sidney, Fulke Greville (1554–1628) was an important member of the court of Queen Elizabeth I. Although his poems, long out of print, are today less well known than those of Sidney, Spenser, or Shakespeare, Greville left an indelible mark on the world of Renaissance poetry, both in his love poems, which ably work within the English Petrarchan tradition, and in his religious meditations, which, along with the work of Donne and Herbert, stand as a highpoint of early Protestant poetics. Back in print for a new generation of scholars and readers, Thom Gunn’s selection of Greville’s short poems includes the whole of Greville’s lyric sequence, Caelica, along with choruses from some of Greville’s verse dramas. Gunn’s introduction places Greville’s thought in historical context and in relation to the existential anxieties that came to preoccupy writers in the twentieth century. It is as revealing about Gunn himself, and the reading of earlier English verse in the 1960s, as it is about Greville’s own poetic achievement. This reissue of Selected Poems of Fulke Greville is an event of the first order both for students of early British literature and for readers of Thom Gunn and English poetry generally.

Utopianism In Postcolonial Literatures written by Bill Ashcroft and has been published by Taylor & Francis this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2016-11-10 with Literary Criticism categories.

Postcolonial Studies is more often found looking back at the past, but in this brand new book, Bill Ashcroft looks to the future and the irrepressible demands of utopia. The concept of utopia – whether playful satire or a serious proposal for an ideal community – is examined in relation to the postcolonial and the communities with which it engages. Studying a very broad range of literature, poetry and art, with chapters focussing on specific regions – Africa, India, Chicano, Caribbean and Pacific – this book is written in a clear and engaging prose which make it accessible to undergraduates as well as academics. This important book speaks to the past and future of postcolonial scholarship.
