To a believer, faith in God is a way of life: it is "the victory that has overcome the world" (1 John 5:4). By Faith, we are connected to principles and doctrines of God that facilitate living God-centered life. Everybody needs faith to believe God, obey God and operate God's covenant of protection, provision and preservation. A man without faith has no desire and capacity to be righteous, holy and obedient to God: as it is written, "the just shall live by faith" The Portrait of Faith is the author's contribution of insights on faith; an aspect of man's relationship with God, that is, probably, the most significant fundamental of Christian living. The book traces and finds the root of Faith in the midst of the activities of creation; when God commanded the heaven and the world into existence. It also establishes that everybody has been created in the image of God and equipped, by God, to live by faith. Therefore, in this book, faith is viewed through the prism of trust in God; relying on God's faithfulness; obedience to God; belief in God; mouth and heart harmony; knowledge of the will of God and the operation of the covenant of God.

For 15 years, Daniel Epstein, a Marketing Director at one of the world's largest corporations, Procter & Gamble, traveled the world for business and for faith. Motivated by his own search to fill the "God-sized hole" in his life, he did not know where it would lead. He felt that if he did not develop some type of spiritual faith he would die. Born and raised a Jew, Daniel's challenges with relationships, work, and "life" forced him at age 36 to get on his knees and pray to a God he did not know, a higher power not specific to either his own Judaism or any religion, and ask for help. In order to keep his new found sense of faith alive and to gain from the experience of others, Daniel created a spiritual exercise out of interviewing people around the world about the role of faith in their lives. As a photographer, Daniel also captured a moment with each person in a black and white portrait meant to evoke their true spirit. In 2012, Daniel launched Portraits on Faith online as the largest documentary project on faith ever compiled by a single person. Over 100 of the 500 portraits shot have been published from 27 countries, which have been viewed over 300,000 times by people around the world. As a culmination of all the work that has to this moment, Daniel is publishing the first volume of Portraits in Faith, which include over 100 portraits, quotes, and reflections on faith from people spanning the world, from over 40 faith traditions and denominations.

We often use the word faith without thinking much about its meaning. We know that without faith, it is impossible to please God and that faith is the core and foundation of daily Christian living. But what is faith? Author Joel R. Beeke believes we can best understand faith by seeing how it operates by the Spirit in the lives of fallen sinners like us. Accordingly, he considers essential aspects of faith operating in the lives of Adam and Eve, the Shunammite woman, the Canaanite woman, and Caleb. With pastoral warmth, he challenges readers to ask themselves three questions: Do I have this kind of faith? Am I exercising the particular aspect of faith being described? How can this example of a particular dimension of faith be used in my life to make me a mature believer? Study questions for each chapter encourage meaningful reflection for both individual and group study. Table of Contents: Foreword by Geoff Thomas 1. Introduction 2. Adam and Eve: Childlike Faith 3. The Shunammite Woman: Submissive Faith 4. The Canaanite Woman: Mature Faith 5. Caleb: Persevering Faith

A fresh 'one-stop' book on Jesus, looking at the evidence for him, at what he did and at how he can affect our lives today. There is no denying the importance of Jesus Christ in the history of humankind. He has walked through the last two thousand years of history, of empires, governments, political systems and philosophies and has remained as a dominant, challenging, yet mysterious presence. In The Life J.John and Chris Walley achieve an uncommon blend - a serious book for popular use and a popular book for serious reading. - Evangelism - in order to invite people to come to Jesus we need to know who he is. - Education - this book attempts to counter some of the modern misconceptions about Jesus i.e. that he was just another prophet/guru. - Many recent books written on Jesus, separate the 'Jesus of History' and the 'Christ of Faith' The Life demonstrates how the two are inextricably linked.
