"The Prince and the Four Gardens," is a work to demonstrate four gardens we all must pass in our lives of mortality and through which our Lord Jesus Christ has already passed to lead and show us the way. The Gardens of the fall, Eden, of the Wilderness, of Gethsemane; and of His Tomb demonstrate His love and grace given to us and lights our way in our path through the darkness of this mortality.

"The Grace of God," is an eclectic work demonstrating God the Father, God the Son and God the Spirit and the wonderful plan of restoring and reconciling fallen mankind back to a loving, holy, immutable and sovereign God. Part one of this work deals with the attributes of the Lord and through this exploration of Him, we may learn how to be more like Him. Part two concerns itself with cyclical interpretive models found within Scripture that more fully explain how to read Scripture. Part three deals with convergence theory and through convergence the more complete worship of God in His triune personhood. Finally, part four is a poem entitled, "Clouds." A poem based on the Book of the Revelation. David Clarke is a bivocational minister and Bible teacher. Joining The Clubs written by J. Andrew Ross and has been published by Syracuse University Press this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2015-05-21 with Sports & Recreation categories.

How did a small Canadian regional league come to dominate a North American continental sport? Joining the Clubs: The Business of the National Hockey League to 1945 tells the fascinating story of the game off the ice, offering a play-by-play of cooperation and competition among owners, players, arenas, and spectators that produced a major league business enterprise. Ross explores the ways in which the NHL organized itself to maintain long-term stability, deal with its labor force, and adapt its product and structure to the demands of local, regional, and international markets. He argues that sports leagues like the NHL pursued a strategy that responded both to standard commercial incentives and also to consumer demands that the product provide cultural meaning. Leagues successfully used the cartel form—an ostensibly illegal association of businesses that cooperated to monopolize the market for professional hockey—along with a focus on locally branded clubs, to manage competition and attract spectators to the sport. In addition, the NHL had another special challenge: unlike other major leagues, it was a binational league that had to sell and manage its sport in two different countries. Joining the Clubs pays close attention to these national differences, as well as to the context of a historical period characterized by war and peace, by rapid economic growth and dire recession, and by the momentous technological and social changes of the modern age.

A Jesuit Garden In Beijing And Early Modern Chinese Culture written by Hui Zou and has been published by Purdue University Press this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2011-02-01 with History categories.

In this volume, Hui Zou analyzes historical, architectural, visual, literary, and philosophical perspectives on the Western-styled garden that formed part of the great Yuanming Yuan complex in Beijing, constructed during the Qing dynasty. Designed and built in the late eighteenth century by Italian and French Jesuits, the garden described in this book was a wonderland of multistoried buildings, fountains, labyrinths, and geometrical hills. It even included an open-air theater. Through detailed examination of historical literature and representations, Zou analyzes the ways in which the Jesuits accommodated their design within the Chinese cultural context. He shows how an especially important element of their approach was the application of a linear perspective—the "line-method"—to create the jing, the Chinese concept of the bounded bright view of a garden scene. Hui Zou's book demonstrates how Jesuit metaphysics fused with Chinese cosmology and broadens our understanding of cultural and religious encounters in early Chinese modernity. It presents an intriguing reflection on the interaction between Western metaphysics and the poetical tradition of Chinese culture. The volume will be of interest to scholars and students in a variety of fields, including literature, philosophy, architecture, landscape and urban studies, and East-West comparative cultural studies.
