Hannah Doran is every tabloid’s dream: Hollywood pedigree (wild child of a charming and powerful producer and his cultured wife, who died mysteriously in her prime); best friends with entitled movie stars and celebutantes—and a loud, earth-shattering fall from grace when she was convicted of grand theft after a night of one-percenter excess. But that's not real—or at least not what Hannah claims is her real life. Hannah is smart, devoted... and, she maintains, innocent of the felony that landed her in prison. She's determined to make something positive of her life. But it's hard to break from her public image when everyone has a stake in her old role—her beguiling old cellmates, her ruthless father, a female studio exec with much to hide, and a gorgeous, ambitious photographer. In a town built on image, is success more compelling than the truth—and is true redemption even possible? “I love The Producer’s Daughter! The characters are fascinating and believable, the story is edgily surprising, and the read is deliciously addicting! It’s everything I expect from Lindsay Marcott at her best!" --Sarah Lovett, IndieBound bestselling co-author of Blowback "An exciting and engaging story from a Hollywood insider. You'll find yourself rooting for the good guys, booing the bad guys, and thanking your lucky stars the film industry hasn't come calling for you."--SJ Rozan, Edgar Award winning author of Ghost Hero "A glitzy tour of the entertainment biz... In the hands of this accomplished writer, Hannah's dark secrets make her human as her compelling story unfolds." --Nancy Martin, author of the Blackbird Sisters mystery series "Reminiscent of Elizabeth Little’s Dear Daughter, Lindsay Marcott’s The Producer’s Daughter offers a celebutante-style heroine you will root for through the landmines of new Hollywood.--Leslie Lehr, author of What A Mother Knows

Hannah Doran is the paparazzi's dream: a perfect pedigree (wild child of a famous Hollywood producer and his gorgeous society wife, who died mysteriously in her prime); perfect friends (A-list movie stars and celebutantes); and a perfect fall from grace (convicted of grand theft after a night of glamorous excess). But that's not the truth—or at least not what Hannah remembers. Hannah is smart, loyal...and, she insists, innocent of the crime that landed her in prison. She's now determined to make something of her life. But it's hard to recast herself when everyone has a stake in her old role: her horribly fascinating cellmates, her ruthless father, a female studio exec with dark secrets, and a handsome, ambitious photographer, who has his own demons to slay. And when Hannah begins to uncover her family's hidden past, it puts her own life in jeopardy. In a town built on image, fame is more compelling than redemption, and the truth can get you killed.

Children And Young People As Knowledge Producers written by Gina Porter and has been published by Routledge this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2020-06-09 with Political Science categories.

Despite the widespread promotion of children’s voices by activists and policy makers over the last decade, the potential for young people’s knowledge to impact on adult agendas and policy arenas is by no means a certainty. This book presents critiques of participation in settings where young people are the centre of attention. The complexities and power-dynamics of youth- adult relationships are observed and analysed in a wide diversity of study environments, from Hull to Sao Paulo, rural Lesotho to Ghana, using varied methods and over different time frames, but with a strong focus throughout on context, practice, impacts and associated ethical considerations. The central concern of the book is not whether young people can produce better knowledge than adults, but rather how to better understand the different knowledges which emerge from diverse actors within different generations in order to ensure that the maximum benefits accrue to children and young people with and for whom the research is conducted. This book was originally published as a special issue of Children's Geographies.

The Hollywood Tv Producer written by Muriel G. Cantor and has been published by Transaction Publishers this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2011-12-31 with Language Arts & Disciplines categories.

Except for accounts of journalists, dissident employees, and an occasional congressional committee focusing on crime and unethical practices, we have known very little about how television programs are produced. The Hollywood TV Producer, originally published in 1971, was the first serious examination of constraints, conflicts, and rewards in the daily lives of television producers. Its insights were important at the time and have not been challenged. Using as her framework the social system of mass communications, Muriel G. Cantor shows how producers select stories for television series and how movies end up in prime time. In order to get a comprehensive look at the inner workings of the TV industry and its producers, the author interviewed eighty producers in Hollywood over a two-season period. She probed to discover how the people producers work for and where they work influences their decision-making. As Cantor shows, critics of television who suggest that to remain in production, a producer must first please the business organization that finances his or her operations, are largely correct. Cantor shows that content is determined by a combination of artistic and professional factors, as well as social, economic, and political norms that have developed over time in the industry.
