The Protocol of the Gods is a pioneering study of the history of relations between Japanese native institutions (Shinto shrines) and imported Buddhist institutions (Buddhist temples). Using the Kasuga Shinto shrine and the Kofukuji Buddhist temple, one of the oldest and largest of the shrine-temple complexes, Allan Grapard characterizes what he calls the combinatory character of pre-modern Japanese religiosity. He argues that Shintoism and Buddhism should not be studied in isolation, as hitherto supposed. Rather, a study of the individual and shared characteristics of their respective origins, evolutions, structures, and practices can serve as a model for understanding the pre-modern Japanese religious experience. Spanning the years from a period before historical records to the forcible separation of the Kasuga-Kofukuji complex by the Meiji government in 1868, Grapard presents a wealth of little-known material. He includes translations of rare texts and provides new, accessible translations of familiar documents. Protocol is a book like few others. Not only does Protocol provide motivation and inspiration, but it also calls us to take a journey together and look and examine our own lives individually. It helps us to stop condemning ourselves, but to move forward in life, going from one level to the next levels of our lives successfully. Going as it were from glory to glory, without the baggage or unnecessary condemnation. Protocol teaches us about our innate gifts that we all possess and how to develop and celebrate them. Protocol addresses our hearts, souls, spirit, mind, body, and emotions, spiritually and physically. It is spiritually centered, calling us to live victoriously in every area of our lives, focusing on God's plan for each one of our lives individually as well as our worldwide human family. Protocol focuses on universal laws that were set in place thousands of years ago, which help to guide, direct, and protect us, similar to signposts during our travels. We learn that life is not as complicated or confusing as we try to make it. Protocol is recommended to help everyone, no matter our status in life, to live a victorious life.

Be ready to be shocked. For what you thought was the story of you is the exact opposite. This book is for anyone that is feeling that something about them isn’t right. That the true version of themselves they cannot explain, but what they emit in behaviour is not what they want to truly convey, they just don’t know what’s wrong. We live a lie because the truth isn’t known. We have all been hoodwinked into an existence that expects us to give away our will freely to those with a stronger mind, whether that is because their religion dictates it, or it has become the story of them. I will tell you how to transform your life of sorrow and torment by explaining a truth that you would never have found. Knowledge is indeed a powerful tool. How to use it wisely is an even greater advantage. Turning your why’s into wisdom is the greatest testament to our feminine heritage. Many have died before the answer was made known to them. You have a chance of understanding a truth and changing your destiny. This book explains the reasoning why our spiritual self cannot connect to our senses the way it is meant to. Life is simple, those that have the power have made it complicated for intentions that suit their own purpose.

More than any other individual, William Bell Riley, pastor of the First Baptist Church of Minneapolis, inspired the resurgence of Protestant fundamentalism in 1930s America. Trollinger explores the development of Riley's theology and social thought, examining in detail the rise of the Northwestern Bible and Missionary Training School and other similar institutions. He sheds light upon the nature, successes, and failures of fundamentalist crusades and makes it clear that, to understand fundamentalist religion in America, one must focus upon its regional and local roots.

Does God exist? Using an intellectually rigorous, scientific approach, Marshall Brain—the founder of HowStuffWorks.com and author of the How Stuff Works series—sets out to resolve the eternal debate once and for all. With a compelling sense of curiosity, he breaks down mankind's search for a higher power, tackling such quandaries as: Who is God? What are his attributes? What is God doing and why? How does God interact with humanity? And ultimately, how can humans know with certainty whether God is real or imaginary? How God Works is an enlightening journey in critical thinking that challenges readers to boldly approach the subject of personal faith and put aside intuition in favor of objectivity and logic.
