The Rainbow Prince Project “Once upon a time a brown Princess saved a Prince...” A magical boy, who changes colors with his feelings, is left on the castle steps of a King and Queen. Now the heir to the kingdom, he is put to sleep by an evil white wizard scheming with his dangerous cohort to take over the realm. It is up to the beautiful Brown Princess Marea to save The Rainbow Prince and his multicolored kingdom . The Rainbow Prince flips the traditional fairytale narrative by having brown heroes, a good Black sorceress, and a Brown Princess who saves the Rainbow Prince, allowing us to celebrate his multicultural kingdom. The Rainbow Prince is more than just a simple fairytale. It is an original story for K-6 kids written by Mother/Daughter duo Laura Napier and Marea Claybourne-Napier. It’s also a grassroots passion project, a short film, and a message of hope, inclusion, and diversity.

The beautiful and spoilt Princess Rupanjali is determined to marry only the Rainbow Prince. When she hears that he is trapped in the body of a red parrot she orders that every bird in the kingdom be trapped and caged. When her maid Nilanjana protests at her cruelty, Rupanjali has her thrown into the cage too. When the new king ignores his old friend the shepherd, he wakes up the next morning with billions of needles poking his skin. Removing one makes two more grow back. As he lies in agony, his queen must find a way of helping him. In these two folk-tales from Bengal, arrogance is always punished – even in a prince or princess.

Former US President Barack Obama has penned a popular book, aptly titled, Dreams from My Father. But what does his father, or to be precise, his fatherland dream about him? The question becomes even more prompt as Obama's visits to Africa (five as of July 2018) become significant homecoming events. Here, for the first time in an epic poetical way, is a brilliant exploration of what Africa thinks of Obama, their dreams, illusions and disillusionment about him. The Rainbow Prince is history and biography that quickly alternates between myth and love story, politics and satire, North-South dialogue and monologues, a jest and a cry. As an epic, the poem traces the beginnings of the heroic career in a rescue out of an apocalyptic volcanic explosion from where a baby and mother are rescued, "because of love" (Because of love, /I've dived into volcanoes"). The epic then goes into the history of the continent, slavery, imperialism, colonialism and neo-colonialism-and then interrogates the postcolonial relationship between the West and Africa. Obama's life is sketched in painfully heroic terms, including his near mythical roots, visits to Africa, the hopes and the anticlimax with the end of his term in office ushering in the reign of "the rich fool" who sees others as "invasive weeds, /Who has banned banana boats, /Reasoning that they are from shit holes". The "rich fool", obviously an epithet of the current US president, has got more broadsides such as the accusation that he is "extinguishing the yeast of nations/The dream of the United States of the World/The dream of a global rainbow". In other words, he is doing a good job of reversing what Obama stood for. Obama himself does not escape broadsides for neglecting Africa and being part of the "deadly vulture" system that feeds on Africa's carcass. But in his speech that is yet to be read anywhere, and certainly will not be read in Africa, Obama reveals his true identity and defends himself against accusations. Then there is the poem on Michelle Obama in which she is seen not as "a digression", but part of "a progression" in a love story and in a history straddling slavery and freedom, beauty and brains ("What a marvel that in/Twenty-one centuries of being/Caged/Picked/And quartered/A lovebird would still sing, dance and reign!") On the whole, this long poem-the only epic about an American president-is about the hope of resolving contradictions and diversity (the rainbow) that Obama offers, and the fact that his presidency should not be the peak (kingship) of his power, but the glimpse of a prince charming who is still legible enough to play a big role in the world politics and culture. It is couched in appropriate poetic devices that puts it at a par with all great poetry. It is full of sound (some parts being played to musical instruments), sense, sensibility, landscapes and beautiful high-quality pictur

"The Prince and the Rainbow"Once upon a time in a faraway place, there was a country in which only existed the color white. This country was not other but: Spotless. However, Prince Naïve despite living in a place with harmony wasn't happy, he felt that his life was empty and had no interest at all. But one day, the prince crossed the mountains that marked the boundary of his own kingdom. He discovered then not only Rainbow, but also all the innumerable good and bad creatures that exited due to the fact that it was a colorful place.PURPOSE OF THE COLLECTION:The collection "Tales for a Life" recovers the essence of the classic tales with the objective of entertaining and transmitting valuable teachings to our children. Reared in a palace and educated at Gakushuin, the elite Peers School, Princess Masako was elegant, refined, and proper in all things royal and Japanese. She was also stunningly beautiful. It was therefore only natural that she was being groomed to be betrothed to a princeno less than Crown Prince Hirohito, the future Emperor of Japan. The rulers of the newly emerging Empire of the Sun, however, decided to offer the beautiful princess as a sacrifice on the altar of Japans imperialism. She, they conspired, must marry Yi Eun, the crown prince of Koreas Joseon Kingdom, whose national independence they were strangulating with their conquest ambition. As Korea was forced to become a part of Japan, so was Masako forced to become a part of Korea in order to symbolize the union of the two nations in mortal conflict. Like a fish in a net or a bird in a snare, Princess Masako turned and twisted to live, to be free, and to be happy. Painfully aware that events in her life were beyond her control, however, she decided to accept her destiny. Even so, the imposed destiny would not control her, for she decided to become a heroine, not a victim of her misfortunes, driven by her passion for love, life, and happiness. Masakos story is about the human spirit empowering a victim of misfortunes and an unwanted destiny to become a hero, transforming adversity into patches of paradise as beautiful as the rainbow.

A wonderful children's read from author Heather Prince. Most rabbits live happily and contented, rarely having adventures, but not Bumbly Rabbit. She leaps out of her hutch and goes to search for the rainbow within. There are three things that every living being strives for in their lives: Love, Peace and Happiness. The story simply demonstrates that the only way we can experience lasting happiness and peace is by going deep inside to the core of our being - which is in fact - peace. Bumbly's 'enlightenment' is her realisation that all we seek comes from within!
