The Real Jesus Myth is what happens when a retired (but still cynical) journalist, who is also a retired (but still cynical) Anglican priest, decides to answer some of the questions tossed at him about the Christian Faith. Many people don't know enough about the nuts and bolts of Christian belief - "doctrine" to use an unpopular word. This isn't their fault: most mainline churches put "social justice" issues front and centre while doctrine, evangelism and apologetics gather dust in the rear pews. This may be one reason so many mainline churches are scrambling to stay afloat and, if so, why it's long past time to re-emphasize the fundamentals of the Faith. The Real Jesus Myth is a (fairly) orthodox look at the Christian Faith centered around the Nicene Creed and bookended by comments on everything from why the bible is God's word to why orthodoxy isn't as scary as you may think. It is written both for Christians and for the curious non-Christian but one caution - the author is an ex columnist and police reporter, not a theologian, so don't expect this to read like a textbook.

How To Get Rid of Jesus: Prove He Didn't Exist! A popular question posed by Christians today asks, "WWJD?" - which stands for, "What Would Jesus Do?" For more and more Skeptics of Christianity, however, the answer to this question is, "JDNE" - which stands for, "Jesus did not exist!" In this volume, edited by prominent Internet apologist James Patrick Holding, a team of Christian authors provide a series of essays giving detailed answers to those who argue for the "Christ myth." Though rejected by mainstream scholars, this theory continues to grow in popularity among popular writers and Internet antagonists. The need for Christians to be ready to give an answer to it will only become more urgent. "Here's a clear and compelling rebuttal to fallacious claims that keep resurfacing in books and on the Internet. It's well-researched, expertly presented, and ultimately convincing." - Lee Strobel, author, The Case for the Real Jesus

Jesus God Man Or Myth written by Herbert Cutner and has been published by Book Tree this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2000 with Body, Mind & Spirit categories.

Did pagan mythologies represent Christs miracles in order to convince them to accept the Christian faith? Beyond these miracles is there enough evidence to prove there was a Jesus? Cutner says no. He also says that the Apostle Paul never portrayed Jesus as a man, but as a spiritual being. To Paul, Christ is found in a spiritual sense within oneself, as opposed to being an actual historical personage. When the Church accepted Paul, this inner reflection was outwardly projected by the Church into an actual mana saviour, according to Cutner. This might be why Paul was almost rejected by the Churchhis views posed a danger to those who might rely on their own spiritual knowledge, rather than the authority of the Church. Whether Jesus lived or not, we still have a lot to learn about ourselves and our true place in the universe. This book, although critical, may be useful in that respect.

The Illusion Of Truth written by Thomas Nehrer and has been published by John Hunt Publishing this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2014-02-28 with Religion categories.

The Illusion of "Truth" is a multifaceted look at Jesus of Nazareth, his message and religions created, not from his insights into reality, but on fantasy and lore concocted about him. Tom Nehrer builds on scholarly research through personal level of consciousness, exposing myths to find the real Yeshua who trod dusty roadways of first-century Judea. Understanding Jesus’ “Kingdom of Heaven within” requires extensive perspective. This book explores: Historical, social, political and traditional settings for Jesus appearance; The mindset of ancients – how superstitious peasants imagined divine manipulation; Modern man’s mindset – how causality is projected not only onto gods, but onto real world forces, luck, chance and fate, all illusory processes; How life really works – metaphysical connection of Self to Reality, an inner-outer flow; How beliefs create illusions – masking Reality’s flow with shared notions of “Truth” which isn’t.; Many caveats to accepting Gospel accounts as reliable reports of any substance; The real life of Jesus – how the man grew from first-century Jewish thinking to fully visionary status, aware of the Self as driving force in life; The Parables whose rich stories reveal Jesus’ awareness of the functional Oneness of Consciousness/Reality; A deeply critical look at Christianity – its early growth, smothering of alternate explanations and claims to represent true traditions back through the apostles to Jesus. That claim is shown as bogus, when Gospel writers only show apostles as unable to grasp Jesus’ Kingdom illustrations. The Illusion of “Truth” reveals not only how life works and how Jesus was fully aware of its meaning-based flow – but how Christianity grew from ancient notions and layered myth about Jesus, rather than insights from him. ,

Lies Lies Lies written by Michael Green and has been published by Inter-Varsity Press this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2012-12-17 with Religion categories.

The public are inundated with untruths about Jesus of Nazareth, the greatest figure in human history and the one by whom we date everything. Sometimes these truths emerge from the media and sometimes from specific assaults on Jesus by special interest groups and writers. Michael Green thoughtfully and robustly takes on the most important of these untruths. * Was Jesus just a mythical figure who never lived? * Were the Gospel accounts of him corrupt and written long after he lived? * Can we trust the text of the New Testament? * Was Mary Magdalene Jesus's lover? * Were the Gnostic Gospels just as good evidence as the four Gospels which Christians read today? * Did Jesus really die on the cross? And surely nobody these days believes in the resurrection? After all, hasn't the tomb of Jesus and his family been discovered? These are some of the issues addressed in this book. The author is an ancient historian as well as a New Testament scholar. He is not ashamed to call the misrepresentations about Jesus what they are - lies, lies, lies!

Are you strong enough to handle the truth about your faith and belief? Since infancy you have been taught stories from the Bible. Did you know that they are simply myths and superstitions, gathered together from the veils of antiquity? The priests of the ancient world were seeking a new method of power and control over the masses. In this book you will be given truths and directed to paths of reality. All religions are created for control and wealth. Jesus never existed and there is no evidence that a benevolent God watches over his children. There is also the same lack of proof that an Allah, a Buddha, or a Krishna ever existed or exists today. What we have developed is a path to the total destruction of mankind. Our planet earth is being torn apart by foolish beliefs which are promoted and supported by the weaknesses of a mass of human beings who have to have a security blanket. Collectively the nations of the world are on an inevitable collision course and the cause is religion. This is the ultimate results of a child's game of, "my God is bigger than your God "

Ehrman vigorously defends the historical Jesus, identifies the most historically reliable sources for best understanding Jesus’ mission and message, and offers a compelling portrait of the person at the heart of the Christian tradition. Known as a master explainer with deep knowledge of the field, Bart Ehrman methodically demolishes both the scholarly and popular “mythicist” arguments against the existence of Jesus. Marshaling evidence from within the Bible and the wider historical record of the ancient world, Ehrman tackles the key issues that surround the mythologies associated with Jesus and the early Christian movement. In Did Jesus Exist?: The Historical Argument for Jesus of Nazareth, Ehrman establishes the criterion for any genuine historical investigation and provides a robust defense of the methods required to discover the Jesus of history.

Jesus The Man written by Barbara Thiering and has been published by Corgi this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2011-02-28 with categories.

Jesus was the leader of a radical faction of Essene priests. He was not of virgin birth. He did not die on the Cross. He married Mary Magdalene, fathered a family, and later divorced. He died sometime after AD 64. This controversial version of Christ's life is not the product of a mind which wants to debunk Christianity. Barbara Thiering is a theologian and a biblical scholar. But after over twenty years of close study of the Dead Sea Scrolls and the Gospels she has developed a revolutionary new theory which, while upholding the fundamental faith of Christianity, challenges many of its most ingrained supernaturalist beliefs. Jesus the Man will undoubtedly upset and even outrage those for whom Christianity is immutable and unchallengeable. But for many who have found the rituals of the contemporary church too steeped in medieval thinking, it will provide new insights into Christianity in the context of the modern world.
