The subject of this fictional novel is the adventurous career of Sam Adams, a talented individual who decided when he was a freshman in high school to pursue a career as a Civil Engineer. As a young adult he developed numerous sexually active relationships with young ladies who were definitely attracted to him. He in turn was also attracted to the young ladies, particularly Sue Hall, a strikingly beautiful statuesque blonde he met while he was on liberty during his Navy boot training. He soon discovered they shared many common interests and although he realized marriage was definitely out of the question at the present time, he vowed to keep in touch with her. Some three years later when they got together again, he knew he loved her so deeply that despite all of the romantic escapades he had enjoyed with other young ladies, none of them could hold a candle to Sue. Immediately after Sam completed college with a degree in Civil Engineering, they were married, a marriage that formed the foundation for a family of five talented children and Sam's career as a successful Civil Engineer. After a long successful career that included many large engineering projects in the western United States as well as overseas projects in Asia, Australia, and South America, Sam retired as the President of Hanover Engineering, one of the most efficient and prosperous global Civil Engineering firms in the world. Sam and Sue enjoyed many happy retirement years together as they spent their winters in their beautiful home overlooking the Pacific Ocean in the San Francisco Bay Area with all of the amenities of a great city and their spring, winter, and fall months on their Montana Ranch with the majestic peaks of the Rocky Mountains always in view.

Adventure fiction is one of the easiest narrative forms to recognize but one of the hardest to define because of its overlap with many other genres. This collection of essays attempts to characterize adventure fiction through the exploration of key elements—such as larger-than-life characters and imperialistic ideas—in the genre’s 19th- and 20th-century British and American works like The Scarlet Pimpernel by Orczy and Captain Blood by Sabatini. The author explores the cultural and literary impact of such works, presenting forgotten classics in a new light.

On Her Own Journalistic Adventures From San Francisco To The Chinese Revolution 1917 27 written by Milly Bennett and has been published by Routledge this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2016-07-22 with Political Science categories.

Born in 1897, Milly Bennett lived an extraordinary life that led from her native San Francisco, to Honolulu, to China for the revolution, to the Soviet Union on the eve of World War II, to the Spanish Civil War, and home again, a journey punctuated with many love affairs, triumphs, and disappointments. This memoir of Milly's early years through her extended stay in China, places the current political turmoil there into a broader historical perspective. Nominally an autobiography of a remarkable woman and her brief time in China, it goes beyond the narration of an individual life by contributing details of a period of great instability, as well as exploring the sensitive topic of the involvement of foreigners in the internal politics of China.
