Kazimir, Svetlana and Anastasia are real characters. They live in a very remote part of the Siberian steppe. Kazimir is a white shaman with extraordinary power, a healer whose fame has reached as far as Kazakhstan, Mongolia and Moscow. Svetlana is a black shaman, able to travel through the underworld, the realm of the invisible, of ancestors, of dreams, of the soul, and take others with her, on extraordinary shamanic voyages. Anastasiya, Svetlana’s niece, is one of the very few shamans in the world who masters the art of both white and black shamanism. By whoever knows her, or even just heard of her, she is considered a reincarnation of the Princess of Altay. Selene Calloni Williams and her son Michelangelo have met these three shamans by chance during one of their extraordinary research trips, while attempting to reach the burial site of the Princess of Altay. To gain the three shamans’ trust, Selene and Michelangelo have visited them on several occasions since, even in winter when the steppe is freezes at minus 40 degrees. One day, Svetlana decided to entrust them with a “tale of power”. A “tale of power” has the ability of communicating images containing new possibilities of thought and action. In this world everything is imagination and nothing which hasn’t been imagined before can happen. For example, how could the first man have hunted the first mammoth, or the first tyrannosaurus have devoured the first velociraptor, if within instinct the image of hunt hadn’t existed? In order for behaviour to exist there always must be a guiding image. These are the images which the ancients addressed as gods and which psychoanalysts define as archetypes: the original forms of all experiences. Shamans are able to converse with gods. They are bards, storytellers, they know tales able to bring images into existence, create possibilities which were previously unexplored, and thus can solve otherwise insurmountable problems. These are not just any stories; they’re “tales of power”. This book tells the story of the passionate love which bonds a boy and a girl, an old man and an old woman, tells of eagles and underworlds, describes the “shamanic journey” and the triumph of love over fear and death. It is not just any story; it shares active secrets, treasures, like magic diamonds which enter the body between one page and the other, between an adventure and the other. This book can be read at the blink of an eye, the same blink with which the great spirit of the Black Eagle, the lord of the dead, will carry you down to the underworld, to then take you back, changed forever, to your life: it’s magic, it’s poetry.

Powerfully phrased, elegantly structured and uniquely presented. This book constitutes a new era in the evolution of poetry. It is a great contribution to the global recognition of Canadian literature. A reference against which poetry will be measured. - K. Cohien, Editor The depth of the exceptionally rich imagery in this book, and the stunning use of the language promise a very successful and enjoyable book. Though no great poet in history was fully and truly appreciated in his days, if not sooner - it may only take the next generations library to crown the author the unsurpassed poet of all times. It is an honor to introduce this book. - W. S. Martin, M.A. Author. Having dazzled the imagination of poetry with his previous book Intoxicated Emotions Paul Gouda in The scent of the full moon has written his name in history with the very few elite giants of recorded literature. Having taught advanced literature at graduate level for 18 years, I believe I am qualified to make this very bold statement: This book has confidently earned its place within the unique category of the greatest literature ever written.. This is not a statement anyone would make lightly. I am confident that history will prove this testimonial to be true. Brilliant material. - Timothy Bucha, Ph.D. Th.D.

The New York Times bestselling, “meticulously researched and absorbingly written” (The Washington Post) story of the trailblazers and the ordinary Americans on the front lines of the epic Apollo 11 moon mission. President John F. Kennedy astonished the world on May 25, 1961, when he announced to Congress that the United States should land a man on the Moon by 1970. No group was more surprised than the scientists and engineers at NASA, who suddenly had less than a decade to invent space travel. When Kennedy announced that goal, no one knew how to navigate to the Moon. No one knew how to build a rocket big enough to reach the Moon, or how to build a computer small enough (and powerful enough) to fly a spaceship there. No one knew what the surface of the Moon was like, or what astronauts could eat as they flew there. On the day of Kennedy’s historic speech, America had a total of fifteen minutes of spaceflight experience—with just five of those minutes outside the atmosphere. Russian dogs had more time in space than US astronauts. Over the next decade, more than 400,000 scientists, engineers, and factory workers would send twenty-four astronauts to the Moon. Each hour of space flight would require one million hours of work back on Earth to get America to the Moon on July 20, 1969. “A veteran space reporter with a vibrant touch—nearly every sentence has a fact, an insight, a colorful quote or part of a piquant anecdote” (The Wall Street Journal) and in One Giant Leap, Fishman has written the sweeping, definitive behind-the-scenes account of the furious race to complete one of mankind’s greatest achievements. It’s a story filled with surprises—from the item the astronauts almost forgot to take with them (the American flag), to the extraordinary impact Apollo would have back on Earth, and on the way we live today. From the research labs of MIT, where the eccentric and legendary pioneer Charles Draper created the tools to fly the Apollo spaceships, to the factories where dozens of women sewed spacesuits, parachutes, and even computer hardware by hand, Fishman captures the exceptional feats of these ordinary Americans. “It’s been 50 years since Neil Armstrong took that one small step. Fishman explains in dazzling form just how unbelievable it actually was” (Newsweek).

Sarah’s infertility is a heavy weight over her life. Her situation looks even more hopeless when she is trapped for years in the harem of an Egyptian Pharoah. Upon being freed, Pharoah gives Sarah a little girl who was born in the harem, named Ta-Sherit. The mysterious God who speaks to Sarah and her husband, Abraham, seems to have great power and has promised them a multitude of descendants. But Sarah is old and getting older, and still has not given birth. In this novel, Sarah tells her story through the lens of her relationship with Ta-Sherit, whom she loves and raises like a daughter—while others nickname the Egyptian girl “Hagar” and view her as a servant. In this creative reimagining of an ancient family drama, the biblical text becomes a new story when it comes from Sarah in her own voice.

Once again Wes is face to face with a pair of enemies from his long-ago past. It's difficult to account for a hatred that would span so many years and over 1300 miles only to wreak vengeance on a man for an alleged slight. And Wes' inability to account for that kind of hatred could well cost him everything he loves. The enemies include a would-be Comanchero from the old days, a much younger man Wes once saved from a life of crime, and a gambler and professional killer from Georgia. These and others will conspire to hunt down Captain Crowley, the leader of the Guerrero Rangers, and harm him in ways from which he might never recover.
