This comprehensive and richly illustrated volume provides up-to-date material on Singular Spectrum Analysis (SSA). SSA is a well-known methodology for the analysis and forecasting of time series. Since quite recently, SSA is also being used to analyze digital images and other objects that are not necessarily of planar or rectangular form and may contain gaps. SSA is multi-purpose and naturally combines both model-free and parametric techniques, which makes it a very special and attractive methodology for solving a wide range of problems arising in diverse areas, most notably those associated with time series and digital images. An effective, comfortable and accessible implementation of SSA is provided by the R-package Rssa, which is available from CRAN and reviewed in this book. Written by prominent statisticians who have extensive experience with SSA, the book (a) presents the up-to-date SSA methodology, including multidimensional extensions, in language accessible to a large circle of users, (b) combines different versions of SSA into a single tool, (c) shows the diverse tasks that SSA can be used for, (d) formally describes the main SSA methods and algorithms, and (e) provides tutorials on the Rssa package and the use of SSA. The book offers a valuable resource for a very wide readership, including professional statisticians, specialists in signal and image processing, as well as specialists in numerous applied disciplines interested in using statistical methods for time series analysis, forecasting, signal and image processing. The book is written on a level accessible to a broad audience and includes a wealth of examples; hence it can also be used as a textbook for undergraduate and postgraduate courses on time series analysis and signal processing.

Tiwari and has been published by Springer Nature this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2020-03-25 with Science categories.
This book discusses the latest advances in singular spectrum-based algorithms for seismic data processing, providing an update on recent developments in this field. Over the past few decades, researchers have extensively studied the application of the singular spectrum-based time and frequency domain eigen image methods, singular spectrum analysis (SSA) and multichannel SSA for various geophysical data. This book addresses seismic reflection signals, which represent the amalgamated signals of several unwanted signals/noises, such as ground roll, diffractions etc. Decomposition of such non-stationary and erratic field data is one of the multifaceted tasks in seismic data processing. This volume also includes comprehensive methodological and parametric descriptions, testing on appropriately generated synthetic data, as well as comparisons between time and frequency domain algorithms and their applications to the field data on 1D, 2D, 3D and 4D data sets. Lastly, it features an exclusive chapter with MATLAB coding for SSA.

This book aims to provide a comprehensive understanding of tensor computation and its applications in seismic data analysis, exclusively catering to seasoned researchers, graduate students, and industrial engineers alike. Tensor emerges as a natural representation of multi-dimensional modern seismic data, and tensor computation can help prevent possible harm to the multi-dimensional geological structure of the subsurface that occurred in classical seismic data analysis. It delivers a wealth of theoretical, computational, technical, and experimental details, presenting an engineer's perspective on tensor computation and an extensive investigation of tensor-based seismic data analysis techniques. Embark on a transformative exploration of seismic data processing—unlock the potential of tensor computation and reshape your approach to high-dimensional geological structures. The discussion begins with foundational chapters, providing a solid background in both seismic data processing and tensor computation. The heart of the book lies in its seven chapters on tensor-based seismic data analysis methods. From structured low-tubal-rank tensor completion to cutting-edge techniques like tensor deep learning and tensor convolutional neural networks, each method is meticulously detailed. The superiority of tensor-based data analysis methods over traditional matrix-based data analysis approaches is substantiated through synthetic and real field examples, showcasing their prowess in handling high-dimensional modern seismic data. Notable chapters delve into seismic noise suppression, seismic data interpolation, and seismic data super-resolution using advanced tensor models. The final chapter provides a cohesive summary of the conclusion and future research directions, ensuring readers facilitate a thorough understanding of tensor computation applications in seismic data processing. The appendix includes a hatful of information on existing tensor computation software, enhancing the book's practical utility.

Singular Spectrum Analysis For Time Series written by Nina Golyandina and has been published by Springer Science & Business Media this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2013-01-19 with Mathematics categories.
Singular spectrum analysis (SSA) is a technique of time series analysis and forecasting combining elements of classical time series analysis, multivariate statistics, multivariate geometry, dynamical systems and signal processing. SSA seeks to decompose the original series into a sum of a small number of interpretable components such as trend, oscillatory components and noise. It is based on the singular value decomposition of a specific matrix constructed upon the time series. Neither a parametric model nor stationarity are assumed for the time series. This makes SSA a model-free method and hence enables SSA to have a very wide range of applicability. The present book is devoted to the methodology of SSA and shows how to use SSA both safely and with maximum effect. Potential readers of the book include: professional statisticians and econometricians, specialists in any discipline in which problems of time series analysis and forecasting occur, specialists in signal processing and those needed to extract signals from noisy data, and students taking courses on applied time series analysis.

With the increasing demand for infrastructure construction as the global economy progresses, the need for exploration and utilization of deep underground space becomes more crucial. Various deep underground projects are planned, are under construction, and have been built to encounter great construction challenges due to the complex geo-environment such as strong tectonic movement, fragile geo-environment and complex thermo-hydro-mechanical-chemical conditions. These deep engineering projects could be endangered by different kinds of geological disasters, such as intense rockburst, large deformation, strong water inrush, and large-scale collapse, which might result in massive loss of life and economic damage during the construction of deep underground projects. It is necessary to take proactive measures to ensure that the development of deep engineering projects is risk-informed and sustainable. Efforts are being called for strengthening science and technology innovation and cooperation in geological disaster mitigation and sustainable development during the construction of deep engineering projects. It is paramount to use new technologies and international cooperation to jointly tackle the geological disasters risks and achieve sustainable development. To mitigate the risk of geological disaster in deep engineering under the complicate geo-environment, the mechanism of the formation and evolution of geological disasters in deep engineering needs to be understood. The testing, monitoring, simulation, risk assessment and early warning methods for geological disaster in deep engineering are also needed urgently. New theories, methods and techniques related to the mechanism, warning and risk mitigation of geological disasters in deep engineering will be extremely helpful for the construction safety of deep engineering.
