This book illustrates about 'a meteor shower'.It is very important to learn about asteroids. We all know that millions of years ago, asteroids hit the Earth and made all dinosaurs disappear. A collision 66 million years ago between The Earth and an object (which was approximately 10 Kilometers wide) is thought to have produced the extinction event for dinosaurs. Asteroids are 'minor planets' as they are much smaller in size than planets. They are usually found in the inner solar systems. It is small and rock like objects that orbit the Sun. Asteroids are made from different kinds of rocks and metals, with the metal being mostly the Nickel and Iron. Asteroids don't have an atmosphere. Our solar system began about 4.6 billion years ago. At this time, a big cloud of gas and dust collapsed and the most of the material fell to the center of the cloud. This resulted into formation of 'the Sun'. Some of the condensing dust in the cloud became planets. Some objects in the 'asteroid belt' could not form into planets. There are lots of asteroids in our solar system. If you want to teach your kids about space, you might want to read the following facts about the Solar System. The solar system is composed of trillions of stars. Some of these star systems are believed to be home to life. Here are some of the most fascinating facts about the Solar System. Hopefully, this book has helped to spark your child's interest in space! Here are some fun facts about our own planets. The planets in our solar system are made of solid matter. The gas giants do not have solid surfaces. The asteroid belt lies between Mars and Jupiter. These pieces of rock and dust make up the asteroid belt. Some are small enough to fit in a grain of sand, while others are so huge they have their own moons. Learning about the planets will make them more interested in space. The Sun is the star at the center of our solar system. It is composed of hot gas, providing abundant light and heat. The Earth orbits the moon. There are also eight planets in our solar system. The smallest is Mercury, and the largest is Jupiter. The planets rotate on their axis as they move around the Sun. One rotation of our planet is equal to a revolution of the Earth. This means that the earth would have to travel 450 years to travel the same distance as Usain Bolt.

The solar system has been around for about 4.6 billion years and it is still changing. We live on planet Earth, which orbits around the sun. The Earth is the third planet from the sun and is one of eight planets in our solar system. The other planets are Mercury, Venus, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus and Neptune. Mercury is the closest planet to the sun in our solar system followed by Venus, Earth and Mars. The sun is a star that creates light, heat and energy for life on Earth. The solar system has eight planets and the sun. The sky is the dome where stars and planets shine. We can see the sky at night and during the day. One light year is how far light travels in one year. A light year is about 5,878,520,000 miles or 9,460,730,234 kilometers. The sun is a star that creates light and heat. The sun is the brightest star in our sky and makes the sky a bright blue color. Weird Astronomical Theories Of The Solar System And Beyond written by David Seargent and has been published by Springer this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2015-12-26 with Science categories.

After addressing strange cosmological hypotheses in Weird Universe, David Seargent tackles the no-less bizarre theories closer to home. Alternate views on the Solar System's formation, comet composition, and the evolution of life on Earth are only some of the topics he addresses in this new work. Although these ideas exist on the fringe of mainstream astronomy, they can still shed light on the origins of life and the evolution of the planets. Continuing the author's series of books popularizing strange astronomy facts and knowledge, Weird Astronomical Theories presents an approachable exploration of the still mysterious questions about the origin of comets, the pattern of mass extinctions on Earth, and more. The alternative theories discussed here do not come from untrained amateurs. The scientists whose work is covered includes the mid-20th century Russian S. K. Vsekhsvyatskii, cosmologist Max Tegmark, British astronomers Victor Clube and William Napier, and American Tom Van Flandern, a specialist in celestial mechanics who held a variety of unusual beliefs about the possibility of intelligent life having come from elsewhere. Despite being outliers, their work reveals how much astronomical understanding is still evolving. Unconventional approaches have also pushed our scientific understanding for the better, as with R.W. Mandl's approaching Einstein with regard to gravitational lensing. Even without full substantiation (and some theories are hardly credible), their hypotheses allow for a new perspective on how the Solar System became what it is today.
