The spirit of the Lord that dwells inside of me (the author,) has allowed me by his wisdom to pen this poetry. I did not know that I could write such meaningful words, until the spirit of the Lord told me what to write and say. Thus began my journey into the world of poetry. This book is about God and His family. It is letting the readers know how they can take the word of the Lord God, Jesus Christ the anointed one and apply them to their everyday living. I know this might sound corny and a little bit square, but believe me it works, it has for me. It tells the reader how to let God into their lives and he will give them all the strength they need to overcome the wiles of the adversary. This book is about the understanding that I received from reading the scriptures of the Lord. They helped me tremendously in my personal life as well as my spiritual life. It is an interpretation of God’s word. This book started out as just writings of my thoughts and meditations that I had during my journey to my lord. After I started attending church services on a regular basis. I believe my spiritual awareness took precedence and I started writing poems on a regular basis. I was not thinking of turning them into a book until, my grandchildren started telling me that I should. They called my writings deep. There are some interesting topic in the book that might be of interest. I know that the Holy Spirit helped me pen this poetry book, because every time I read it I get instant recall as to what was going on in my life at the time of the writing. I wrote this book about seventeen years ago and it never creases to amaze me that I can recall the reason why I penned these words. I hope and pray that whoever reads this poetry book get touched by the Spirit and if they are not follower of Jesus Christ or the father God, that it makes them want to look into becoming one of God’s saints. May the Spirit of the Lord touch you and give you comfort, peace, joy and understanding. May God blessings be upon you. Amen.

It has been said that poetry is the art of naming things properly. Life, Death, And Resurrection is a book of poetry that is the fruition of the author's journey into monasticism, a journey which seemingly leads away from the world, but which is actually a rushing into reality; it is a journey to find the ultimate meaning of one's own existence, the ultimate meaning of life, and the name that God Himself gives to each one of us. This is a book about one soul's search for God, and what that soul finds in this pursuit: life, death, and resurrection-God's own poem He hides within every aspect of our lives. In these poems we find that ultimately it is the journey that will define who we are in the end, and it is the Cross that will show us how to live this journey; we will find our truest self, our true name, only in our love for God and neighbor. As one poem reads: God comes to us in many ways... In vision and mystery In the hand to be held The burden to be born The scars to be felt Which are our prisons to be shorn.

Excerpt from The Spirit World, a Poem: And Scenes From the Life of Christ The following effusions were written in those intervals of leisure which could be spared from other pursuits. They are presented to the public with the hope that they may be found subservient to the interests of enlightened piety. The object of "The Spirit World" is to unite the discoveries of astronomical science with consistent and Scriptural ideas respecting the powers, condition, and probable employment of disembodied spirits; so as to illustrate the plan of Divine Providence among men, and assist in forming a definite conception of a future state. As this is the writer's first attempt to sing before the public, there will doubtless be found blemishes, both in matter and composition; but he rests upon the principle which made the widow's mite acceptable to the Saviour: - "She hath done what she could." From Madonna to Deepak Chopra, celebrities have been recording and embracing Rumi's poetry for the past two decades, creating a resurgence of interest in this 14th century Sufi mystic. Rumi's Little Book of Life is a beautiful collection of 196 poems by Rumi, previously unavailable in English. Translated by native Persian speakers, Maryam Mafi and Azima Melita, this collection will appeal to Rumi lovers everywhere. This collection of mystical poetry focuses on one of life's core issues: coming to grips with the inner life. During the course of life, each of us is engaged on an inner journey. Rumi's Little Book of Life is a guidebook for that journey. The poetry is a companion for those who consciously enter the inner world to explore the gardens within - out of the everyday "world of dust"-through an ascending hierarchy that restores one's soul to the heart; the heart of the spirit; and in finding spirit, transcending all.
