Suffering is an integral and inescapable part of human experience. In fact it is essentially what makes us human. It speaks precisely to the imperfection that is inherent in our finite human nature. God bestows on him the ability, as Job eventually experienced, to thrive in spite of suffering. Thus this book shows how God enables the good person of faith not only to triumph over any and all suffering but more importantly also to transform his suffering into a blessing.
