When she begins experiencing the strange, violent visions of someone bent on murder, they lead her to Swift Island, a sleepy LGBTQ+ summer retreat. Toni has wounds of her own to heal. Heartbroken from her breakup with a womanizer she believed she could change, she accepts her aunt Leslie’s invitation to spend time with them on Swift Island and work in their brewpub, the Second Wave. Although consumed with their own lives on the island, when Brittany and Toni meet, their attraction is immediate, but a killer lurks in the shadows of this cozy enclave, and the only way to stop one of them from becoming the next victim is to help Brittany focus on the message of her visions.

THE BATTLE AGAINST DARKNESS RAGES ON AS THE MINIONS OF THE EVIL ONE LAY DOWN A TRAP TO ENSNARE THE BOY WHO CAN CALL DOWN ANGELS FROM HEAVEN. A gun is fired outside the Washington Hilton Hotel. Ronald Reagan is hit and slumps into his limousine near death. Six months later a bomb explodes in London. Two are killed and forty injured. What wasn't reported by the press was that Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher cancelled an appearance that morning that would have placed her squarely in the kill zone. It is 1981. In the midst of those two events, as Pope John Paul II greets an adoring crowd in St. Peter's Square, four shots are fired by escaped murderer, Mehmet Ali Agca. The official story was that the bullet that hit the pope in the abdomen barely missed all vital organs. No surgeon can save him from his injuries. But there is still hope. Three seemingly unrelated events are part of a mosaic created by Satan's warriors, both human and spiritual, to lure Brady, the young man who talks with angels and who can call on the Light of the Blessed Virgin, to a place where his maddening interference can be destroyed once and for all. But Brady is anointed by God for such a time as this. With his brothers and an ancient line of Hebrew warriors at his side, knowing full well that a hideous trap is laid for him, he again charges boldly into the eternal battle, facing Satan's foulest in Rome, Paris, and a place of unspeakable horror in Calcutta, India, as he comes to the aid of an Albanian nun who is gallantly fighting for God's most vulnerable of children. Brady will lose people he loves dearly. But God will reveal to him that the call and blessing that was given to his grandfather and passed on to his father and then bestowed on himself will continue in his family as he holds faithful to the call. A Hand of Vengeance is Book 4 in John Stafford's Call of Vengeance Series.

History As A Visual Art In The Twelfth Century Renaissance written by Karl F. Morrison and has been published by Princeton University Press this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2014-07-14 with Philosophy categories.

Karl Morrison discusses historical writing at a turning point in European culture: the so-called Renaissance of the twelfth century. Why do texts considered at that time to be masterpieces seem now to be fragmentary and full of contradictions? Morrison maintains that the answer comes from ideas about art. Viewing histories as artifacts made according to the same aesthetic principles as paintings and theater, he shows that twelfth-century authors and audiences found unity not in what the reason read in a text but in what the imagination read into it: they prized visual over verbal imagination and employed a circular, or nuclear, spectator-centered perspective cast aside in the Renaissance of the fourteenth and fifteenth centuries. Twelfth-century writers assimilated and transformed a tradition of the conceptual unity of all the arts and attributed that unity to the fact that art both conceals and discloses. Recovering that tradition, especially the methods and motives of concealment, provides extraordinary insights into twelfth-century ideas about the kingdom of God, the status of women, and the nature of time itself. It also identifies a strain in European thought that had striking affinities to methods of perception familiar in Oriental religions and that proved to be antithetic to later humanist traditions in the West.
