Hadavar The Word Of written by Daniel Perek and has been published by Strategic Book Publishing & Rights Agency this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2022-03-02 with Religion categories.

This book is a temporary Volume IV in a four-volume set on Messianic Judaism by scholar Daniel Perek. It is an English translation of the Aramaic Peshitta New Testament, and will soon be accompanied by a Hebrew translation of the same. The goal of this New Testament is to put the Aramaic Peshitta text back into its cultural context as much as possible linguistically, by transliterating Hebrew names and other words, and looking more closely at the translation of certain words and concepts. It is the author’s contention that the Aramaic texts preceded the Greek NT texts, and that this version will help readers see some of the reasons why. Namely, the use of the Name, ???? , or ???? in the Aramaic, would not be so strategically used in an Aramaic translation from the Greek as it is in the Aramaic Peshitta texts, so one can easily see the Name as it was used by Yeshua and His Talmidim (Disciples). Further, the Name “Yeshua,” ????, the given, human name of the Messiah, is affirmed as Yeshua in the Aramaic Peshitta texts, and is seen readily within this volume. The Hebrew translation will be completed shortly, offering the same and more to the Hebrew reader.

Sages And Commoners In Late Antique Ere Israel written by Stuart S. Miller and has been published by Mohr Siebeck this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2006 with Biography & Autobiography categories.

Stuart S. Miller addresses a number of issues in the history of talmudic Palestine that are at the center of contemporary scholarly debate about the role rabbis played in society. In sharp contrast to recent claims that the rabbis were a relatively small and insular group with little influence, this book demonstrates that their movement was both more expansive and diffuse than a mere counting of named rabbis suggests. It also underscores some of the dynamics that allowed rabbinic circles to spread their teachings and to ultimately consolidate into an effective and productive movement. Many overlooked terms and passages in which rabbis and the members of their circles appear in the Talmud Yerushalmi are investigated, and special attention is given to the identity of persons who are collectively referred to after their places of residence (Tiberians, Sepphoreans, Southerners, etc.) While the results confirm the insular nature of the interests of the rabbis, they also point to the definition and coherence that this insularity provided their movement. Therein lies the secret of the success of rabbinic Judaism, which never depended upon sheer numbers but rather on the internal strength and sense of purpose of rabbinic circles. Subjects that are considered include: rabbinic households, the identity of the 'ammei ha-'arez and their relationship to the rabbis, village sages and their connection to urban rabbis, and the venue of rabbinic teachings, instructions, expositions, pronouncements, and stories.

Since the Brit Chadasha in Yirmeyeh 31:31-34 was given to Orthodox Jews (the passage is found in the Hebrew Bible, is it not?), and since most Orthodox Jews are in New York City, particularly Brooklyn it seems, then it surely must also be appropriate to make available a translation of the Brit Chadasha from the best original manuscripts in language devoid of goyishe (and non-frum) style. The following is a passage from this new translation, specifically from "The Besuras haGeulah According to Mattityahu (Matthew)" chp 28:19-20, and is illustrative of what we at AFII are doing and what we believe:

In this collection of insights from the Lubavitcher Rebbe, compiled from a variety of letters, public addresses and private audiences, the Rebbe provides practical guidelines and advice on a myriad of topics concerning and addressed to Yeshiva students who are attending Chabad-Lubavitch Yeshivas. The book's title - 'The Rebbe's Children' - is inspired by the Rebbe lovingly referring to these Chabad students (otherwise known as 'Tmimim') as his own children. This is apparent in the enthusiastic spirit and fatherly affection exhibited in this compilation.

The Golden Age Of The Lithuanian Yeshivas written by Ben-Tsiyon Klibansky and has been published by Indiana University Press this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2022-05-03 with History categories.

The Golden Age of the Lithuanian Yeshivas tells the story of the last chapter of Jewish rabbinical schools in Eastern Europe, from the eve of World War I to the outbreak of World War II. The Lithuanian yeshiva established a rigorous standard for religious education in the early 1800s that persisted for over a century and continues to this day. Although dramatically reduced and forced into exile in Russia and Ukraine during World War I, the yeshivas survived the war, with yeshiva heads and older students forming the nucleus of the institutions. These scholars rehabilitated the yeshivas in their original locations and quickly returned to their regular activities. Moreover, they soon began to expand into areas now empty of yeshivas in lands occupied by Hasidic populations in Poland and even into the lands that would soon become Israel. During the economic depression of the 1930s, students struggled for food and their leaders journeyed abroad in search for funding, but their determination and commitment to the yeshiva system continued. Despite the material difficulties that prevailed in the yeshivas, there was consistently a full occupancy of students, most of them in their twenties. Young men from all over the free world joined these yeshivas, which were considered the best training programs for the religious professions and rabbinical ordination. The outbreak of World War II and the Soviet occupation of first eastern Poland and then Lithuania marked the beginning of the end of the Yeshivas, however, and the Holocaust ensured the final destruction of the venerable institution. The Golden Age of the Lithuanian Yeshivas is the first book-length work on the modern history of the Lithuanian yeshivas published in English. Through exhaustive historical research of every yeshiva, Ben-Tsiyon Klibansky brings to light for the first time the stories, lives, and inner workings of this long-lost world.
