Document from the year 2014 in the subject Engineering - Communication Technology, grade: 1,3, Friedrich-Alexander University Erlangen-Nuremberg, course: Managing Information Technology, language: English, abstract: The Technology Acceptance Model (TAM) is an information systems theory. This model was developed by Fred Davis in his dissertation which was published in 1989. Since then, this model has spread to one of the most cited models in the context of technology diffusion (Kotrík). User acceptance of technology has been a vital area of studies for two decades now. Many models do predict the diffusion of a system but the Technology Acceptance model is the only model which focuses mainly on Information Systems (Chuttur). With a growing demand for technology in the 1970’s the increasing failure of adapting systems within enterprises became a new area of research. Fred Davis, a doctoral student at the MIT Sloan School of Management, proposed the Technology acceptance model in 1985. He explained that the use of a system is a response to user’s motivation. User’s motivation on the other hand depends on system features and capabilities. (Chuttur) [...]

This SpringerBrief discusses the origins, emergence, evolution, and future of the Technology Acceptance Model (TAM). TAM, simple yet powerful, has been extensively validated, standing as a leading scientific paradigm and a reliable model for explaining, predicting, and improving user acceptance across a spectrum of technological deployments. Over more than three decades since the introduction of TAM, numerous extensions have emerged, incorporating additional variables and collectively referred to as “TAM++”. However, perceived usefulness and perceived ease of use remain the basic beliefs of the core TAM model. The introductory chapter “Once upon a TAM” focuses on the challenging search for a user acceptance crystal ball, showing that it is indeed possible to consistently predict, explain, and improve user acceptance. “Evolution of TAM” traces the model's growth and adaptability, exploring the proliferation of selected TAM-related behavioural intention models, several integrated theoretical approaches, the quest for other behavioural intention antecedents, and TAM’s versatile applications in various contexts. “Revolution of TAM” presents an in-depth systematic review, encompassing a meta-analysis of selected TAM reviews and meta-analyses, and a narrative review of representative primary studies, providing a thorough and extensive understanding of the TAM universe. The epilogue “What will the Future of TAM be Like?” provides insights into its dynamic future. This SpringerBrief concludes with seven actionable principles, serving as a strategic guide for those aiming to customize the TAM++ body of knowledge for application-oriented studies within a particular context. This comprehensive overview of TAM is a valuable source of information for researchers, practitioners, and all interested readers, especially those new to the field.

Data Management A Gentle Introduction written by Bas van Gils and has been published by Van Haren this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2020-03-03 with Architecture categories.

The overall objective of this book is to show that data management is an exciting and valuable capability that is worth time and effort. More specifically it aims to achieve the following goals: 1. To give a “gentle” introduction to the field of DM by explaining and illustrating its core concepts, based on a mix of theory, practical frameworks such as TOGAF, ArchiMate, and DMBOK, as well as results from real-world assignments. 2. To offer guidance on how to build an effective DM capability in an organization. This is illustrated by various use cases, linked to the previously mentioned theoretical exploration as well as the stories of practitioners in the field. The primary target groups are: busy professionals who “are actively involved with managing data”. The book is also aimed at (Bachelor’s/ Master’s) students with an interest in data management. The book is industry-agnostic and should be applicable in different industries such as government, finance, telecommunications etc. Typical roles for which this book is intended: data governance office/ council, data owners, data stewards, people involved with data governance (data governance board), enterprise architects, data architects, process managers, business analysts and IT analysts. The book is divided into three main parts: theory, practice, and closing remarks. Furthermore, the chapters are as short and to the point as possible and also make a clear distinction between the main text and the examples. If the reader is already familiar with the topic of a chapter, he/she can easily skip it and move on to the next.

Applied Interdisciplinary Theory In Health Informatics written by P. Scott and has been published by IOS Press this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2019-08-09 with Medical categories.

The American Medical Informatics Association (AMIA) defines the term biomedical informatics (BMI) as: The interdisciplinary field that studies and pursues the effective uses of biomedical data, information, and knowledge for scientific inquiry, problem solving and decision making, motivated by efforts to improve human health. This book: Applied Interdisciplinary Theory in Health Informatics: A Knowledge Base for Practitioners, explores the theories that have been applied in health informatics and the differences they have made. The editors, all proponents of evidence-based health informatics, came together within the European Federation of Medical Informatics (EFMI) Working Group on Health IT Evaluation and the International Medical Informatics Association (IMIA) Working Group on Technology Assessment and Quality Development. The purpose of the book, which has a foreword by Charles Friedman, is to move forward the agenda of evidence-based health informatics by emphasizing theory-informed work aimed at enriching the understanding of this uniquely complex field. The book takes the AMIA definition as particularly helpful in its articulation of the three foundational domains of health informatics: health science, information science, and social science and their various overlaps, and this model has been used to structure the content of the book around the major subject areas. The book discusses some of the most important and commonly used theories relevant to health informatics, and constitutes a first iteration of a consolidated knowledge base that will advance the science of the field.

Complex Intelligent And Software Intensive Systems written by Leonard Barolli and has been published by Springer Nature this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2021-06-29 with Technology & Engineering categories.

This book includes the proceedings of the 15th International Conference on Complex, Intelligent, and Software Intensive Systems, which took place in Asan, Korea, on July 1–3, 2021. Software intensive systems are systems, which heavily interact with other systems, sensors, actuators, devices, and other software systems and users. More and more domains are involved with software intensive systems, e.g., automotive, telecommunication systems, embedded systems in general, industrial automation systems, and business applications. Moreover, the outcome of web services delivers a new platform for enabling software intensive systems. Complex systems research is focused on the overall understanding of systems rather than its components. Complex systems are very much characterized by the changing environments in which they act by their multiple internal and external interactions. They evolve and adapt through internal and external dynamic interactions. The development of intelligent systems and agents, which is each time more characterized by the use of ontologies and their logical foundations build a fruitful impulse for both software intensive systems and complex systems. Recent research in the field of intelligent systems, robotics, neuroscience, artificial intelligence, and cognitive sciences is very important factor for the future development and innovation of software intensive and complex systems. The aim of the book is to deliver a platform of scientific interaction between the three interwoven challenging areas of research and development of future ICT-enabled applications: Software intensive systems, complex systems, and intelligent systems.
