"Welcome in transmediasphere, where stories float all around us and inside us. Stories and brands, trends, conflicts, experiences, ways of being. A new ecosystem, rich of technology and complex, deep and charming. A transmediaverse where audiences and creators share multi platform story worlds, stack up pieces from all the messages and products, the works and the experiences mixed in the global flux, with their invisible scripts. Angry Birds and the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Mr. Robot and Games of Thrones, The Dark Knight, Westworld and Hunger Games, Avatar and Assassin’s Creed, LOST and Prometheus, Sin City, Mad Man and Halo, Dexter and Star Wars or brands like BMW and Burberry, Chanel and LEGO, HBO and Coke, IKEA, Harley Davidson and Discovery Channel. What have in common these gigantic narratives? Making transmedia means creating complex imaginative universes for stories distributed on different media platforms, spreading multilayered plots and managing complex characters for entertainment, information and communications, for brand and public institutions, for cultural heritage and the Arts, for education and for goods. Look around you: screens, devices, texts, brands... Transmedia is everywhere, even if we don’t perceive it, most of the time. And the author, the producer and... the designer? This book is an essay and a professional guide at the same time. It consists of all those masterworks and experiences, and is a “captain’s log” with 100 examples of the most relevant and original transmedia projects, techniques and universes invented over the past years, from America to Europe, from Asia to Africa and Australia. The Revolution In Transmedia Storytelling Through Place written by Donna Hancox and has been published by Routledge this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2021-02-17 with Performing Arts categories.

This book proposes that the theory and practice of transmedia storytelling must be re-considered from a social impact and community development perspective, and that time has come for a rigorous critique of the limited ways in which it has been commonly represented. Transmedia storytelling has become one of the most influential and profitable innovations in the field of media and entertainment. It has changed the ways audiences interact with films, television and web series, advertising, gaming and book publishing. It has also shifted the practices around creation and dissemination of such content. This book asserts that the futures of transmedia storytelling for social impact or change are deeply tied to understandings of place grounded in human geography. Through a series of case studies of projects which challenge the status quo of transmedia, this book explores the elements of transmedia that can be used to amplify under-represented voices and make stories that signal a more inclusive and sustainable future. This book offers a valuable contribution to the literature in the areas of transmedia storytelling, narratology, digital fiction, electronic literature, locative storytelling, performative writing, digital culture studies and human geography.

Transmedia Practices In The Long Nineteenth Century written by Christina Meyer and has been published by Routledge this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2022-02-23 with Social Science categories.

This volume provides engaging accounts with transmedia practices in the long nineteenth century and offers model analyses of Victorian media (e.g., theater, advertising, books, games, newspapers) alongside the technological, economic, and cultural conditions under which they emerged in the Anglophone world. By exploring engagement tactics and forms of audience participation, the book affords insight into the role that social agents – e.g., individual authors, publishing houses, theatre show producers, lithograph companies, toy manufacturers, newspaper syndicates, or advertisers – played in the production, distribution, and consumption of Victorian media. It considers such examples as Sherlock Holmes, Kewpie Dolls, media forms and practices such as cut-outs, popular lectures, telephone conversations or early theater broadcasting, and such authors as Nellie Bly, Mark Twain, and Walter Besant, offering insight into the variety of transmedia practices present in the long nineteenth century. The book brings together methods and theories from comics studies, communication and media studies, English and American studies, narratology and more, and proposes fresh ways to think about transmediality. Though the target audiences are students, teachers, and scholars in the humanities, the book will also resonate with non-academic readers interested in how media contents are produced, disseminated, and consumed, and with what implications.

Every producer aspires to design an entertainment brand that can grow into a pop icon, a brand whose storyworld or hero has enough creative potential to power spin-offs and reboots, theme park rides and acres of merchandise. So how can independents achieve this degree of success if they don't have a hundred million dollars to spend on a marketing campaign or the time to gamble on a viral video or game? In "Transmedia 2.0: How to Create an Entertainment Brand Using a Transmedial Approach To Storytelling," Nuno Bernardo will show readers how to use the transmedia approach to build an entertainment brand that can conquer global audiences, readers and users in a myriad of platforms. "Transmedia 2.0" is the follow up to the 2011 bestseller "The Producers Guide to Transmedia" and draws on Nuno Bernardo's experience of multi-platform storytelling and production. Inspired by Orson Welles radio play "War of the Worlds," Nuno has being exploring new forms of interactive and immersive storytelling for the past decade. Using his unique approach to transmedia, Nuno has produced more than 200 hours of multi-platform content; from feature films and TV shows to mobile apps and books. His transmedia franchises have been adapted all across the globe, from the UK to China, conquering tens of millions of loyal fans and featuring in the world's greatest film and television festivals along the way. Through his own experience, Nuno has developed a step-by-step approach to building long-running multi-platform entertainment brands and loyal viewing communities. Now he is sharing his knowledge with filmmakers, content producers for television, gaming and web, marketers and brand managers, audiovisual and media students. All of the aforementioned have one thing in common; they want to learn a trick or two about how to use stories and a transmedial approach to marketing and communication to attract audiences and users to their stories and products. It also features a series of real case studies discussing ideas and concepts of how transmedia can be key to promoting and engaging with audiences around a traditional TV show, feature film, game or consumer brand.

Transmedia Narratives For Cultural Heritage written by Nicole Basaraba and has been published by Routledge this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2022-04-21 with Social Science categories.

Transmedia Narratives for Cultural Heritage focuses on theoretical approaches to the analysis and creative practice of developing non-fiction digital transmedia narratives in the rapidly growing cultural heritage sector. This book applies a media-focused transdisciplinary approach to understand the conventions of emerging digital narrative genres. Considering digital media’s impact on narrative creation and reception, the approach, namely remixed transmedia, can aid practitioners in creating strategic non-fiction narratives for cultural heritage. These creations also need to be evaluated and a digital-media focused ‘ludonarrative toolkit’ allows for the critical analysis of the composition and public participation in interactive digital narratives. This toolkit is applied and exemplified in genres including virtual museums, serious games, and interactive documentaries. The book also includes a seven-phase theoretical framework that can assist future creators (and project managers) of non-fiction transmedia ‘mothership’ narratives; and a methodology (based on ‘big data analysis’) for how to invent new cultural heritage narratives through bottom-up remixing that allows for public inclusion. Two transnational case studies on the 11 UNESCO World Heritage Australian Convict Sites and the Irish National Famine Way demonstrate the seven-phase framework’s applicability. As many scholars across disciplines are increasingly creating digital narratives on historical topics for public consumption in various forms, the theoretical foundations and practical project management framework will be useful for scholars and project teams in the domains of transmedia studies, interactive narratives, cultural heritage, media studies, comparative literature, and journalism.
