A New Conservative Age is Rising! For decades, Western intellectuals believed that the dominance of secular liberalism was inevitable. With the supposed triumph of modernism and its chief export globalism, such a future appeared irreversible. And yet, to the surprise of scholar and statesman alike, traditional religions are making a comeback all over the world, challenging secularization's monopoly over the public square. In this thought provoking book, you will discover why the resurgence of religion means that a new conservative age is rising all over the globe. HERE'S A PREVIEW OF WHAT YOU'LL LEARN .... How the rise of liberalism has awakened a mass conservative backlash How nations are rejecting the anti-cultural dynamics of globalism How nationalism, populism, and traditionalism are redefining a new political order How the fertility advantage among conservative religionists will win the culture wars How the return of classical education is already anticipating this conservative victory And much, much, more! If you're a conservative, there's no longer any reason to be pessimistic. With this book, you will discover the worldwide clash between globalism and nationalism, how nationalism is fueling a resurgence of traditional religion, and what such a resurgence means for the end of globalism and the triumphant return to a conservative vision of life.Get your copy today!

In pre-1900 Japan few women were encouraged to become professional artists and pursue art seriously. In some situations, male family members who recognized and supported the artistic talent of a female relative could arrange for her to receive further training. And some Buddhist nuns, freed from domestic duties, took up the brush. In a different social realm, courtesans at the highest levels were trained in the arts and attained recognition as poet-calligraphers. After the fall of the shogunate in the 1860s, women had more opportunities to practice art, albeit still limited by tradition. In Tradition and Triumph Andrew L. Maske showcases art created by Japanese women from the 1600s through the 1900s. Ranging from works on silk and paper to ceramics, the art of important women artists is represented along with pieces by male artists who trained and championed them. Assembled by John Fong and Colin Johnstone, who gifted the works to the Denver Art Museum, this collection is believed to be the largest group of works of this type outside of Japan.

St Louis Politics written by Lana Stein and has been published by Missouri History Museum this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2002 with History categories.

There are two defining moments in St. Louis political history: the 1876 divorce of the city from its county and the 1914 charter adoption. The institutions created at these times produced a factional and fragmented city government, thoroughly grounded in machine politics. Stein examines major themes in urban politics over the last century: race, redevelopment, suburbanization, and leadership. St. Louis mayors must deal with the comptroller and the president of the board of aldermen plus twenty-eight aldermen elected from wards. State law says the city must also have eight county offices--offices that perform county functions for the city. Power is difficult to amass in this factional and fragmented universe. In St. Louis politics, consensus building and alliances can prove to be more important than election-night victory. St. Louis's political culture stems from the city's fragmented nature. Its philosophy is often: "you go along to get along" or "go home from the dance with the guy that brung you." Individual friendships are of great importance. Within this environment, class and racial cleavages also affect political decision making. Although St. Louis elected its first African American official in 1918, genuine political incorporation has been long in coming. Several decades ago, issues of class and race prevented St. Louis from adopting a new charter, with more streamlined public offices. Today, some St. Louisans cry out for home rule and governmental reform. Stein's work helps to demonstrate that institutions structure political behavior and outcomes. Changing institutions can make a difference, after political culture adapts to the new playing field.

Understanding Catholic Tradition and its essential role in Christ's indefectible Church through the ages!Apologia for Tradition is a powerful, well-documented defense of sacred Tradition as a solution for the modern crisis in the Church. This book demonstrates how the Catholics of history and today are united in a timeless battle to defend Tradition. A battle that stretches from the sands of the Colosseum to the cultural arena of today's post-Christian era. The book shows:* The triumph of Tradition over persecution and heresy* Historical examples of the Church's method of adherence to Tradition* How in every era, Christ raised up saints to defend the Tradition of Holy Mother Church* How evil has attempted to eradicate Tradition, especially todayIn the unhappy event of a conflict between the "living Magisterium" and Tradition, the primacy can be attributed to Tradition alone, for one simple reason: Tradition, which is the "living" Magisterium considered in its universality and continuity, is infallible in itself, whereas the so-called "living" Magisterium, understood as the current preaching of the ecclesiastical hierarchy, is infallible only under certain conditions.-Roberto de Mattei

Excerpt from The Great Tradition: An Interpretation of American Literature Since the Civil War The planting aristocracy, which the war had destroyed, had been not only the chief political rival of industrial capitalism but also the principal critic of commercialism as a way of life. There seethed to be nothing to oppose the triumph of business enterprise. Both the farmers of the West and the workers of the East had made common cause with the industrialists against the South, and they were slow to distinguish between their interests and those of the ruling class. The revolution in agriculture had destroyed the farmer's self-sufficiency, and the Greenback Movement testified to the existence of unrest. Many Workers, seeing how small a share they received of the nation's increased wealth, organized into unions. But the promise of the frontier was always there to lure the venture some, and the sight of great fortunes, seemingly built so casu ally, by the exercise oi such familiar attributes, encouraged even the least self-confident American to hope for Comfort if not for wealth. Movements of protest received little support, and at best they offered no fundamental criticism of the conf duct of industry, for they merely expressed the eagerness of the less fortunate to share in the prizes that were being so lavishly distributed. Farmer and mechanic alike admired the heroes of financial battles, dreamt of speculation, and looked forward to riches. If many were pushed away from the table so luxuriously laden with the fruits of mechanical ingenuity and the gifts of nature to the nation, they knew that the table was there, and they did not despair of finding a place at it. The Triumph Of Great Tradition The Story Of Cunards 175 Years written by Eric Flounders and has been published by this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2014-12 with Ocean liners categories.

In 2015 Cunard celebrate their 175th anniversary. Its heritage dates back to 1839 where Sir Samuel Cunard won the first British Government contract to supply a regular mail service across the North Atlantic. Since that date Cunard has had hundreds of ocean liners. Cunard's golden age occurred after the Second World War when the Queen Mary and Queen Elizabeth entered full commercial service. In the late Fifties Cunard faced the most fierce competitor, the Boeing 707 on the Transatlantic routes. This saw a great decline in the Cunard fleet but amidst the jet revolution Cunard gambled with their future on a new ship, the QE2. With the expanding cruise market in the late Nineties, the company was to see further new-builds, including the QM2. This anniversary book brings together the full story of Cunard and not only follows the history of the company but also many of the celebrities and film stars who have been associated with Cunard.
