This is a lengthy intellectual journal by a political radical that ranges over a variety of subjects, such as Marxism, capitalism, history, many schools of modern philosophy, psychology, economics, and contemporary American politics. Its most useful content for students might be its many summaries of good historical and scientific scholarship, especially in the journal's second half. Ultimately, the document is a fairly comprehensive expression of a particular society as refracted through an inquisitive and critical mind, from the ages of 15 to 44.
