While the modern day Christian Church follows the Gospel of Paul, it wasn't always so. The early church followed the Gospel of Jesus. There are two Gospels! I doubt that many people realize that there are two Gospels and they are polar opposites. The church jumps through hoops and does all it can to synchronize Paul's teachings with Jesus' teachings, but it failed. When you read in this book the comparison of the two Gospels, you will see why they are incompatible. They are so incompatible that they can't both exist in the church so the church has rejected Jesus' Gospel in favor of the Paul's Gospel of 'lawlessness'. The second half of the book deals with Paul. Many love Paul and his teachings, and embrace them in place of Jesus' teachings. Other see Paul as an anti-christ figure, teaching a Gospel that is the opposite of the Gospel Jesus taught. There are two great revelators, or unfolders of Divine Truth in the Bible,—Moses in the Old Testament, and Paul in the New. Some one may say, “Is not Christ the Great Teacher?” In a sense this is true; but in a real sense Christ is the Person taught about, rather than teaching, in the Gospel. The law and the prophets pointed forward to Christ; the epistles point back to Him; and the book of Revelation points to His second coming, and those things connected with it. The Four Gospels tell the story of how He was revealed to men, and rejected by them. Christ Himself, therefore, is the theme of the Bible. Moses in the law reveals God’s holiness, and thus by means of the Law reveals human sin, and the utter hopelessness and helplessness of man. Paul in his great epistles reveal Christ as our Righteousness, Sanctification, Redemption, and All in All.

Critical studies of the two 'test cases' for James D.G. Dunn's 'New Perspective on Paul, ' Paul's Damascus experience and Gal 3:10-14, reaffirm the Reformation interpretation of Paul's doctrine of justification and confirm that Paul obtained that doctrine from his Damascus experience. The discovery that Isaiah 42 influenced Paul's interpretation of his apostolic call helps explain how Paul developed his antithesis between the Spirit and the flesh/law and why he insists on the impossibility of justification by works of the law. Contrary to the assumption of the 'New Perspective School', Seyoon Kim's studies issue a call to take Paul seriously as an important witness to his contemporary Judaism. The distinctive Pauline doctrine of Christ as the Image of God and as the Last Adam is revisited in the light of the growing interest in the apocalyptic-mystical background of Paul. The author also explicates how Paul uses the Jesus tradition in the light of the Damascus experience to develop his christology and soteriology. For the hundred years since W. Wrede ( Paulus, 1904) made the provocative claim that Paul should rightly be regarded as 'the second founder of Christianity', scholars have debated vigorously on the relationship between Jesus and Paul. Past studies on the Jesus-Paul debate have largely been confined to either the literary or the theological level. This study looks at the issue afresh by combining the historical and the theological approaches. The discussion focuses on the issue of faith, paying special attention to two groups of Jesus' sayings ('Faith that can remove mountains' and 'Your Faith has healed/saved you') and Paul's use of Gen. 15:6 and Hab. 2:4. The distinctive methodology of this study is to compare Jesus and Paul against the backdrops of the Jewish biblical tradition and Hellenistic parallels. The picture of the Jesus-Paul relationship that emerges is a most complex one. To a great extent the similarity between Jesus and Paul is due to their common Jewish heritage. The early Church plays a part in influencing Paul's concept of faith and Paul himself reinterprets the Jewish Scriptures in an innovative manner. At the same time, Paul is found to be greatly indebted to Jesus for his concept of faith. The method of placing Jesus and Paul against the Jewish and Hellenistic backgrounds permits a fuller appreciation of the historical and theological continuities between Jesus and Paul than has hitherto been possible.
