A whole wardrobe in a book. Imagine a pattern. A pattern for a simple skirt. Let’s call it “The Skirt.” Now, imagine that this pattern is magic—it not only yields one stylish skirt, but in fact can be used to make six stylish skirts. By following different markers on the pattern, “The Skirt” can be: 1) an A-line skirt; 2) a maxi skirt; 3) a flirty pleated hem skirt; 4) a smart-looking pencil-wrap skirt; 5) a flared bias skirt; 6) a ruffled mini. But wait, there’s more! Following each look are six fabric recommendations, some of them easily repurposed. So now, not only does each pattern turn into six patterns, but each of the six patterns can turn into six different garments. With six magic patterns in the book, the end result is 216 original designs! The skill level is basic, and there’s a complete sewing primer included, with recommendations for basic tools, step-by-step instruction, a guide to fabrics, and a sizing reference chart. Express your fashion sense, look great, be creative—and save money. Now that’s magic.

The research workers at the Eye Clinic of the Medical Academy of Erfurt are proud of having been entrusted, for the second time, with the organization of the yearly ISCEV symposium. Twelve years ago the 6th Symposium was held in Erfurt. This time we turned to Reinhardsbrunn, an old castle situated in the vicinity of Erfurt on the fringes of the wonderful mountainscape of the Thuringian Forest. Reinhardsbrunn castle serves today as a holiday hotel and convention place. It seemed to us to be the right place for carrying on the discussions in a comfortable and informal way after the actual sessions were over. Comparing the scientific reports read at the 6th and 17th Symposium, both organized in Erfurt, one readily becomes aware of the impressive advances in our rapidly developing field of interest. The technical and, more specifically, the electronic advancements have been enormous, especially in the field of recording and processing the visually evoked cortical potentials·. Adually, the addition of this special field of study to our realm, led to the renaming of the Society some years ago. Moreover, it became more and more obvious that interdisciplinary cooperation between ophthalmologists, physiologists, physi cists, technologists and mathematicians is essential. This is also reflected in the composition of our membership.

When Julie Stevens was first diagnosed with autism, she wanted to read and understand as much as possible Ð particularly around the emotional impact of diagnosis. However, there didnÕt seem to be much out there for people like Julie, diagnosed later in life and already with an established life and career. Julie didnÕt know whether what she was feeling and experiencing was usual, or whether she was an outlier. Struggling to accept her diagnosis and its implications, Julie started writing. This book is the result: an open and honest account of the first year after an autism diagnosis. This book takes you on a whistlestop tour of how Julie coped with some of the limitations the diagnosis placed upon her and came to her own conclusions about what it means to live life on the autism spectrum, with all the joys and challenges that can bring. But most of all, itÕs a book about coming to terms with a label that can change your life, even if thatÕs not what you were expecting at the outset.

A Systems Perspective On Financial Systems written by Jeffrey Yi-Lin Forrest and has been published by CRC Press this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2014-03-03 with Business & Economics categories.

This book is devoted to a systems-theoretical presentation of the main results of applying the systemic yoyo model and relevant analytical tools to the topics of money and financial institutions. The author presents the main concepts and results of the subject matter in the language of systems science, which has in the past century prompted revolutionary applicati ons of systems research in various subfields of traditional disciplines. This volume applies a brand new logic of reasoning to some of the unsett led problems in the area of money and banking. Due to the particular systemic approach employed, the reader will be able to see how different economic activities are implicitly related to each other and how financial decisions are holistically made in reference to seemingly unrelated events. That is, the learning of this particular subject matter takes place at a different, more elevated level, from which, among others, economies are respectively seen as both closed and open systems; their interactions emulate those of rotational pools of fluids. This book can be used as a textbook for researchers and graduate students in economics, finance, systems science, and mathematical / systems modeling. It will also be useful as a reference book for applied economists and various policy makers.
