Dear reader, Over the years, I have spent considerable time studying the language and the manuscripts of the New Testament. I also have been blessed with multiple opportunities to teach adult Sunday school. The one subject that was constantly in demand was the Lord's return. Adult believers have an insatiable appetite for an understanding of how this world age will end and any information about our Lord's return. The Bible books that we mostly studied were the book written by Daniel the prophet and the Apostle John's book called Revelation. One of my philosophies regarding the scriptures is that we must allow the scriptures to speak. We often come to the Bible with preconceived ideas and try to force the scriptures to say what we think they should say. This is unacceptable! The Watchman's Handbook was written after years of personal study and prayerful reflection for greater spiritual understanding. May the words of the handbook stir your heart and help you to gain a closer relationship with our loving God. When I was about five years old, my mother told me, "Someday, God is coming back. When He comes, He is going to take us up into the air to meet Him in the sky." Wow! That was quite a declaration to a small child. When I was out of doors, I would look up into the sky and think to myself, When is God coming back for us? I am almost seventy years old and I am still looking up. When the watchman sees the enemy coming, he blows the alarm to warn the people." - Ezekiel 33:2-3 (New Living Translation) Many were considering our time as the last days-the period that Christians associate with the signs of the end of the systems of things, where the Devil pulls the last of his strings to create chaos, bewilderment, discouragement, and eventual falling from the faith or being misled from the faith. It is a period prior to Judgment Day where people all over the world, including Christians, are made to stand before God and Jesus Christ, to be declared as either righteous, therefore, getting a reward, or unrighteous and thus getting the retribution. For the last days, like being in battle, God appointed Watchman of Day and of the Nightas one of His watchmen to warn the people of the impending judgment so that they may repent and eventually be saved from the wrath of God and the punishment that comes with it. One of his commission is to write a compilation of 1,240 verses from the different books of the Bible, which God had chosen Himself in a span of thirty-three years. The Watchman's Book, according to the author, is the last warning offered by God before the return of the Lord Jesus Christ. About the Author The author was born in Kansas City, Missouri, and grew up doing farm work. He emancipated himself from home at the age of thirteen and married at the age of seventeen. Right after his marriage, he started to learn welding, which became his job for forty-five years.

The title Watchman! Watchman! What of the Night? was selected on the basis of the soon-to-unfold Great Tribulation Period (GTP). The purpose of the title is to attract an interest in the reply that the watchman gave: "I see the dawn coming, and also a Night!" It is this approaching "Night" that the watchman saw-which represents the judgments of God and the wrath of man that will unfold during the GTP. In essence the GTP will last for seven years- "the last week" in Daniel's prophecy that concludes "the 367 weeks" upon the Children of Israel. There is a strong indication that "this Night," which horrified the watchman, is likely to commence anytime between mid-2023 AD and mid-2025 AD.
