As a holistic wellness coach, it took me longer than it should have to really figure out how to manage, let alone find complete freedom from the awful symptoms of Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS), because I was primarily looking at food as the culprit. Only when I opened to the possibility that there was much more to my ailing digestive system than a particular morsel I was eating did I find my way into the world of joy and freedom I now know.I had all the classic symptoms. If you're here, you're probably familiar with the bloating, urgency, unpredictably, the poignant fear of eating anything, and the debilitating anxiety. Over the years I went dairy-free, gluten-free, low FODMAP, tried numerous supplements, and spent thousands of dollars on multiple healing modalities, all of which eventually failed. I was left with very few answers, an extremely limited diet, and the same awful symptoms. A lot of times something new would help at first...but only for a little while. My hopes would soar that I may have finally come to the end of a long, miserable journey, only to have my symptoms return again, sometimes worse than before. I now understand this cycle, but in the throws of it, I found it exhausting and depressing. Sound familiar? The good news is that I now live completely free of the symptoms of IBS, which is why I've written this book. My journey was long, but I don't believe it needed to be. I hope to save you the stops and starts, the many hundreds of dollars and the incalculable agony, and instead offer you the knowledge and information that I gathered, so that you too can find your way to freedom from symptoms of IBS.

The New York Times–bestselling author of The Maker’s Diet shows how to fight IBS symptoms using biblical and natural health concepts. An estimated thirty million adults and children in this country—ten percent of the population—are plagued by Irritable Bowel Syndrome, or IBS. IBS is not a disease but a painful, life-altering, functional digestive disorder in which the muscular contractions of the digestive tract become irregular and uncoordinated. Certain foods and beverages, as well as anxiety and stress, can trigger symptoms. The nature of those symptoms—like cramps, flatulence, constipation, and diarrhea—are not easy to talk about with others, taking an emotional toll on those afflicted with them. IBS also accounts for $25 billion in direct and indirect costs each year. Enough is enough. In The Great Physician’s Rx for Irritable Bowel Syndrome, New York Times–bestselling author Jordan Rubin, along with Joseph Brasco, MD, shows readers how to apply the Seven Keys to Health and Wellness and naturally fight this painful and debilitating disease. This foundational book provides you the tools you need to live a long, healthy, and abundant life. If you desire to live life to the fullest, then The Great Physician’s Rx for Irritable Bowel Syndrome is for you.
