All of us still have those fond memories of the books from the erstwhile Soviet Union, which were once extensively circuated here, in Kerala - books of fabulous tales, riveting scientific facts and enchanting illustrations which stole the readers' hearts. They left in us an indelible impression and an unforgettable reading experience. An experience still ever-green in us, Malayali diaspora. As the Union got dissolved, those charming books of tales too vanished, turning them into cherished memories of nostalgia. Yet, readers have relentlessly been looking for those inimitable books. That was why we, the INSIGHT PUBLICA, published a few of them in the same mode. We are grateful and glad to say that readers whole-heartedly backed us in realizing the project. During the execution of our mission, we could fathom the depth and breadth of a great nation's remarkable literary project. Those sublime Soviet stories traversed in translation into many a nation and many a language. Those books were ubiquitous-not as merchandise, but as products of culture.

The mill of Moara is powered not by wind, but by storytelling. So long as the villagers surrounding the mill tell one another stories, the mill continues to work. When the mill unexpectedly stops, storytellers from across the land flock to Moara to see if their tale can turn the mill’s wings once again. None are successful, until a little boy calls a flock of storks down from the sky and a strange new storyteller joins him by the fire . . . Inspired by Romanian folklore, Tales of the White Stork is a collection of stories that touch on themes of courage, humility, and compassion.

In this book, I have presented to you all the animals, insects, fish and birds that occur in the Bible. I have used several versions of the Bible because none of them are complete. The words of the Bible are written for people, not creatures. In the beginning, God intended to let the animals go free. He spent two days doing this, putting the creatures in the sea, the birds in the air and the animals on the land. After that, man came along and spoiled it. There are many animals that run and move about like us. This earth is home to people and animals and man should not interfere with the animals. They have a right to be there. People are sinful and they think that the animals don't really matter at all. God watches over them and he prepares his books for the judgement where we are all going.

The White Image In The Black Mind written by Mia Bay and has been published by Oxford University Press this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2000-02-10 with History categories.

How did African-American slaves view their white masters? As demons, deities or another race entirely? When nineteenth-century white Americans proclaimed their innate superiority, did blacks agree? If not, why not? How did blacks assess the status of the white race? Mia Bay traces African-American perceptions of whites between 1830 and 1925 to depict America's shifting attitudes about race in a period that saw slavery, emancipation, Reconstruction, and urban migration.Much has been written about how the whites of this time viewed blacks, and about how blacks viewed themselves. By contrast, the ways in which blacks saw whites have remained a historical and intellectual mystery. Reversing the focus of such fundamental studies as George Fredrickson's The Black Image in the White Mind, Bay investigates this mystery. In doing so, she uncovers and elucidates the racial thought of a wide range of nineteenth-century African-Americans--educated and unlettered, male and female, free and enslaved.

Symbolism In Korean Ink Brush Painting written by Francis Mullany and has been published by BRILL this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2022-09-12 with Art categories.

With more than 200 colour plates, and for the first time available as a study in English, this volume explores the vast heritage of Korean ink brush painting, providing a rich panorama of information that stretches across the entire spectrum of Korean art – including painting, pottery, calligraphy and literature, which will have wide appeal, not least to art lovers and students of Korean Studies. Part I presents the material in essay form; Part II, which uses a dictionary format, summarizes the information in Part I and highlights the hidden messages and symbolism inherent in literati ink brush painting in Korea. When China and Japan opened up to outside influence in the nineteenth century, Korea maintained a closed-door policy, becoming known as the ‘hermit kingdom’, only to be swallowed up in the struggle for hegemony between the Great Powers. Annexation by Japan in 1910 threatened Korea’s language and culture with extinction. Liberation in 1945 was followed by the tragedy of the Korean War in 1950. In the period of reconstruction after the Korean War, artists and scholars faced the task of retrieving Korea’s endangered cultural tradition. Ink brush painting is a unique part of this tradition; its history stretches back through the Choson dynasty when Chinese influences were assimilated and absorbed and made into Korea’s distinctive tradition.
