Wizards tend to be secretive and solitary, rarely sharing their knowledge, and associating with only a select few apprentices, followers, and henchmen. It is rare that they spend time in the company of other spellcasters, and rarer still that they work together. Now, however, something is about to take place that has not occurred since the great days of Felstad – a gathering of wizards. In this new supplement for Frostgrave, some of the biggest names in gaming turn their creative powers towards the Frozen City, each contributing a scenario and adding their own flair to the game. Featuring scenarios by Alessio Cavatore, Alex Buchel, Andy Chambers, Gav Thorpe, Chris Pramas, Daniel Mersey, Andrea Sfiligoi, and many more, this tome provides a collection of adventures that will pit players against unimaginable foes and challenges, pushing their wizards and warbands to new limits.

Discover the colorful history of the table-top RPG phenomenon, Dungeons & Dragons, as a D&D expert examines its surprising successes, setbacks, and controversies. “The battle over Dungeons & Dragons was the ultimate geek war.” —Wired When Dungeons & Dragons was first released to a small hobby community, it hardly seemed destined for mainstream success—and yet this arcane tabletop role-playing game became an unlikely pop culture phenomenon. In Game Wizards, Jon Peterson chronicles the rise of Dungeons & Dragons from hobbyist pastime to mass market sensation, from the initial collaboration to the later feud of its creators, Gary Gygax and Dave Arneson. Inside you’ll learn about: • Gygax and Arneson’s first meeting and their work toward the 1974 release • The founding of TSR and its growth as a company • Arneson’s acrimonious departure and subsequent challenges to TSR • "Satanic Panic" accusations that plagued D&D—and boosted its popularity • TSR’s reckless expansion and near-fatal corporate infighting • And much more! With Game Wizards, Peterson restores historical particulars long obscured by competing narratives spun by the one-time partners. That record amply demonstrates how the turbulent experience of creating something as momentous as Dungeons & Dragons can make people remember things a bit differently from the way they actually happened.

Gappu, the central character finds himself into huge trouble when his uncle goes missing out of his own negligence. He fears the police and the world, otherwise. All he could do was to sleep and invite unbecoming nightmares, like never before. That dreadful night, when the darkness put upon the sky and he dozed off to deep sleep, an odd revelation comes his way helping him flee far from the travails. He wakes up the other day, very early in the morning and runs away to a cave he had seen the last night in the nightmare. And walking further inside, he discovers a huge pot, which he thought would better his situation off though it adds to his trouble when he becomes a full-blooded wizard, unconsciously. He meets another wizard – Romeos, and spends his first Spring of wonders though weird with the new friend. Gappu does not like to be a wizard by choice. In the new avatar, made impulsive and sinewy, he sets out on a trail of adventures away from the daily drudgery of his earlier life as a potbellied, dull student. Up and out in the new world, he deeply appreciates the fine purpose to live for, the need of warm friendship, lessons of courage and unity and rare feeling of love and humility.

Need For Magic written by Joseph Swope and has been published by Swimming Kangaroo Books this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2009-10 with Fiction categories.
Joseph Swope's debut novel, Need for Magic explores the most powerful magic of all, peoples' needs. The beautiful Lilandra masterfully intuits the needs of everyone she meets and of the whole nation of Atani. By promising to meet those needs, she manipulates all she comes across. Even ancient wizards and a skilled Blademasters have needs. As a result, they too are played like puppets by her deft hand. By refusing to conform to the role the Goodfolk of his village assign him, Keven, a maligned bastard stable hand shows he has a deep understanding of his own needs. A travelling wizard who has had hope magically stolen from him sees a chance for hope in Keven. When the travelling duo of Keven and the wizard are violently separated, Keven is thrust into the cult-like nation of Atani. Can a man who has few needs resist someone who controls all needs? Need for Magic is also an academic examination of social psychology. By incorporating the concepts of cults, conformity and obedience, Joseph Swope shows how manipulation of individuals and groups is far too easy and far too dangerous. In fact, there has been no greater power in history than that shown by an individual who is willing to sacrifice for a group. Need for Magic contains a detailed index of the social psychology ideas used by Lilandra to bend a nation to her will.
