The Word is Flesh and Blood follows the movement of the mass. In 15 chapters, it explores the biblical sources and inspiration of this great sacramental action, after the pattern of 'assembly,' 'word,' 'eucharist' and mission. Here are reflections from an international team of scholars on the place of the Old Testament in Christian worship, on the Psalms, and on the New Testament, especially the gospels. You will also find discussion on the place of music in Scripture and liturgy, as well as the formation and use of creeds. Preaching is understood as sacrifical action, and thus uniting the service of the word with the service of the altar. We see the distinctive character of Christian prayer, notably in meditations on the invocation of the Holy Spirit and the remembrance of the Last Supper. A reflection on the Lord's Prayer follows, as well as one on the supper of the lamb, anticipated at the altar.

Most theologians believe that in the human life of Jesus of Nazareth, we encounter God. Yet how the divine and human come together in the life of Jesus still remains a question needing exploring. The Council of Chalcedon sought to answer the question by speaking of one and the same Son, our Lord Jesus Christ, the same perfect in divinity and also perfect in humanity, the same truly God and truly a human being. But ever since Chalcedon, the theological conversation on Christology has implicitly put Christs divinity and humanity in competition. While ancient (and not-so-ancient) Christologies from above focus on Christs divinity at the expense of his humanity, modern Christologies from below subsume his divinity into his humanity. What is needed, says Ian A. McFarland, is a Chalcedonianism without reserve, which not only affirms the humanity and divinity of Christ but also treats them as equal in theological significance. To do so, he draws on the ancient christological language that points to Christs nature, on the one hand, and his hypostasis, or personhood, on the other. And with this, McFarland begins one of the most creative and groundbreaking theological explorations into the mystery of the incarnation undertaken in recent memory.

The enemy of God, knows that the believers of Jesus Christ are his adversaries. His mission is to remove the position of victory we have in Christ, by causing us to fall into bondage and defeat. Praying, confessing and speaking God's Word allows the believer to pursue victory, rather than take the fall. As Believers in Jesus Christ, we are to speak the things that the Word of God declares as truth. If there are areas in your life that need correcting, your mouth can be used to make it happen. We must stop looking at our circumstances and start looking at the Word, for we can change things and shape our destiny by speaking God's Word over them. In 2007 Mary France completed and published "The River Of Life: Poetry From A Wilderness Experience." That book laid out the foundation of the prayer lifestyle, she is called to embrace. This book, "For We Wrestle Not Against Flesh And Blood; Praying, Confessing and Speaking God's Word," is the lifestyle. Mary founded Watchman On The Wall Ministries, USA in 1997 and is called, by our Lord and Savior, to pray and intercede for the United States of America. She has received many accolades from church and man, yet her life didn't take shape until she was called into a lifestyle of prayer. Mary and her husband Robert are ordained ministers with Revival Christian Center World Missions, in White Plains, New York; Christie and Linda Smith, Pastors.
