This book focuses mainly on strategic decision making at a global level, which is rarely considered in approaches to sustainability. This book makes a unique contribution as the work looks at global consequences of mineral exhaustion and steps that can be taken to alleviate the impending problems. This book highlights how sustainability has become one of the most important issues for businesses, governments and society at large. This book explores the topic of sustainability as one that is under much debate as to what it actually is and how it can be achieved, but it is completely evident that the resources of the planet are fixed in quantity, and once used, cannot be reused except through being reused in one form or another. This is particularly true of the mineral resources of the planet. These are finite in quantity, and once fully extracted, extra quantities are no longer available for future use. This book argues and presents evidence that the remaining mineral resources are diminishing significantly and heading towards exhaustion. Once mined and consumed, they are no longer available for future use other than what can be recycled and reused. This book demonstrates that future scarcity means that best use must be made of what exists, as sustainability depends upon this, and best use is defined as utility rather than economic value, which must be considered at a global level rather than a national level. Moreover, sustainability depends upon both availability in the present and in the future, so the use of resources requires attention to the future as well as to the present. This book investigates the alternative methods of achieving the global distribution of these mineral resources and proposes an optimum solution. This book adds to the discourse through the understanding of the importance of the depletion and finiteness of raw materials and their use for the present and the future, in order to achieve and maintain sustainability.

Sustainability is a topic of great interest to governments, businesses and individual members of society. There is a general consensus that sustainability is important and therefore, needs to be addressed. There is much less consensus, however, as to what this actually means and how it can be addressed. It appears to mean different things to different people and certainly everyone has their own priorities about what needs to be addressed. Consensus is difficult to find because of the complexity of what is involved in sustainability. This book addresses a number of these complexities by looking at different perspectives from experts from a wide range of different disciplines and from different parts of the world. The aim of the book ,therefore, is to stimulate discussion about what needs to be prioritised, as this forms an essential precursor to taking the necessary actions in order to achieve the essential sustainability for the planet. This book is indexed in Scopus.

Csr Governance And Value written by David Crowther and has been published by Springer Nature this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2024-08-10 with Business & Economics categories.

This book presents the changing face of social responsibility, showing how it has grown to encompass governance, becoming a vital part of various aspects of human endeavor. From businesses to politics to justice systems, Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) has expanded its reach, touching every sphere of human activity. What is particularly interesting is how governance failures have highlighted its importance in addressing the economic and social challenges that many organizations face today. This shift has led to a reevaluation of the traditional triple bottom line approach, with governance and supplier behavior emerging as critical components of CSR. Stakeholders, especially consumers, are now actively monitoring companies, influencing their decisions and ultimately impacting their bottom line. The book critically examines these transformations in business behavior through the lenses of governance and CSR, questioning the need for redefining key concepts in the field. Authored by scholars from diverse global backgrounds, it blends theoretical insights with practical considerations, offering a comprehensive exploration of the evolving landscape. Drawing from the tradition of the Social Responsibility Research Network, known for its inclusive approach and emphasis on interdisciplinary research, the book presents varied perspectives and solutions derived from shared best practices. Based on contributions from the Network's recent conference, this book showcases both the unity and diversity of ideas within the field. By examining both theory and practice, it aims to deepen our understanding of these evolving trends and their implications for defining key concepts in social responsibility and governance.

Contemporary Macroeconomics written by Vasilii Erokhin and has been published by Springer Nature this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2023-07-01 with Business & Economics categories.

This book covers a lot of ground in contemporary macroeconomics, from fundamental theories such as market structures and equilibrium to emerging concepts that reflect the most critical challenges of modern times, including economic slowdowns, the resilience of public health systems, digitalization, environmental footprints, and many more. The COVID-19 outbreak has aggravated the recurrent problems of poverty and income inequality between countries, food insecurity and hunger, unemployment, and social disorders that have resulted in the exacerbation of political, economic, and trade tensions between countries. In view of the damaging consequences of the pandemic for the entire global economy, the book examines how existing macroeconomic tools and policies could be adapted to the new normal to ensure sustainable post-pandemic development and growth. The main text is interspersed with real-life illustrations and cases that demonstrate practical implications of the concepts under study. This makes the reading relevant and active. Every chapter starts with learning objectives and ends with a series of questions and quizzes that enable easier reinforcement of the course content. This book is written mainly for students, but it would be much useful to the broader public audience, including postgraduates, researchers, and business people who will be able to learn all recent updates about macroeconomics and the post-pandemic perspectives of the global economy.
