Theory And Simulation Experimental Technology Of Oil Generation From Nonmarine Source Rocks In China written by Defan Guan and has been published by Springer Nature this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2025-07-18 with Science categories.
Guided by organic geochemical methodologies, this book conducts a comparative analysis of the characteristics of oil source rocks deposited across various geological eras within typical continental oil-bearing basins, revisits several issues concerning the oil generation theory of continental oil source rocks, and reshapes organic geochemical thinking methods and simulation experimental techniques, challenging the traditionally dominant "artificial petroleum" theory and experimental techniques. The book is divided into three parts: "Introduction," "Characteristics of Oil Source Rocks in Typical Continental Oil-Bearing Basins in China," and "Simulation Experiments on Oil Generation of Continental Oil Source Rocks," encompassing a total of 12 chapters and 143 figures. It delves into the petroleum geological evolution during the stages of continuous subsidence, overall uplift and denudation, and full shrinkage in major basins such as the Junggar, Ordos, Sichuan, Songliao, and Bohai Bay. The book analyzes the characteristics of the main oil source rocks, develops an oil generation simulation instrument for continental oil source rocks, establishes the experimental technology for low-temperature catalytic cracking of source rocks to simulate oil generation, and reveals the oil generation mechanism of the "geological molecular sieve" and favorable conditions for oil generation in source rocks. It offers new ideas and methods for the evaluation of petroleum resources in continental oil-bearing basins and can be a reference for researchers engaged in petroleum geological and geochemical research, as well as teachers and students working in related fields.

Advances In Geomechanics Research And Application For Deep Unconventional Reservoirs written by Peng Tan and has been published by Frontiers Media SA this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2024-11-11 with Technology & Engineering categories.
Deep unconventional oil and gas reservoirs (such as shale oil/gas, tight oil/gas, coalbed methane (CBM), oil shale, etc.) are commonly characterized by geological and structural complexity, increased formation temperature and pressure, and complex in-situ stress fields. Geomechanics research is helpful to understand the in-situ stress of complex structures, faults and natural fracture systems in deep blocks. Field practice shows that insufficient geomechanics understanding can easily result in low drilling efficiency, long construction period, frequent occurrence of complex situations, and unsatisfactory fracturing effects. In recent years, geomechanics applied to drilling, completion, hydraulic fracturing, and production in unconventional reservoirs has achieved great progress, producing various advanced experimental and numerical approaches and applications. However, as the buried depth increases, the complicated geology conditions make it more and more difficult for the engineering reconstructions, which poses a great threat to the efficient development of deep resources. New knowledge and understandings of geomechanics are urgently needed to guide the development of unconventional oil/gas reservoirs, and the related theory, experiment and simulation studies are rapidly developing.

Data Analytics For Drilling Engineering written by Qilong Xue and has been published by Springer Nature this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2019-12-30 with Science categories.
This book presents the signal processing and data mining challenges encountered in drilling engineering, and describes the methods used to overcome them. In drilling engineering, many signal processing technologies are required to solve practical problems, such as downhole information transmission, spatial attitude of drillstring, drillstring dynamics, seismic activity while drilling, among others. This title attempts to bridge the gap between the signal processing and data mining and oil and gas drilling engineering communities. There is an urgent need to summarize signal processing and data mining issues in drilling engineering so that practitioners in these fields can understand each other in order to enhance oil and gas drilling functions. In summary, this book shows the importance of signal processing and data mining to researchers and professional drilling engineers and open up a new area of application for signal processing and data mining scientists.

Working Guide To Drilling Equipment And Operations written by William Lyons and has been published by Gulf Professional Publishing this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2009-09-16 with Technology & Engineering categories.
Working Guide to Drilling Equipment and Operations offers a practical guide to drilling technologies and procedures. The book begins by introducing basic concepts such as the functions of drilling muds; types of drilling fluids; testing of drilling systems; and completion and workover fluids. This is followed by discussions of the composition of the drill string; air and gas drilling operations; and directional drilling. The book identifies the factors that should be considered for optimized drilling operations: health, safety, and environment; production capability; and drilling implementation. It explains how to control well pressure. It details the process of fishing, i.e. removal of a fish (part of the drill string that separates from the upper remaining portion of the drill string) or junk (small items of non-drillable metals) from the borehole. The remaining chapters cover the different types of casing and casing string design; well cementing; the proper design of tubing; and the environmental aspects of drilling. - Drilling and Production Hoisting Equipment - Hoisting Tool Inspection and Maintenance Procedures - Pump Performance Charts - Rotary Table and Bushings - Rig Maintenance of Drill Collars - Drilling Bits and Downhole Tools
