Mathematical Models And Numerical Simulation In Electromagnetism written by Alfredo Bermúdez de Castro and has been published by Springer this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2014-07-22 with Mathematics categories.

The book represents a basic support for a master course in electromagnetism oriented to numerical simulation. The main goal of the book is that the reader knows the boundary-value problems of partial differential equations that should be solved in order to perform computer simulation of electromagnetic processes. Moreover it includes a part devoted to electric circuit theory based on ordinary differential equations. The book is mainly oriented to electric engineering applications, going from the general to the specific, namely, from the full Maxwell’s equations to the particular cases of electrostatics, direct current, magnetostatics and eddy currents models. Apart from standard exercises related to analytical calculus, the book includes some others oriented to real-life applications solved with MaxFEM free simulation software.

Numerical Simulation Based Design written by Xu Han and has been published by this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2020 with Industrial design categories.

This book focuses on numerical simulation-based design theory and methods in mechanical engineering. The simulation-based design of mechanical equipment involves considerable scientific challenges including extremely complex systems, extreme working conditions, multi-source uncertainties, multi-physics coupling, and large-scale computation. In order to overcome these technical difficulties, this book systematically elaborates upon the advanced design methods, covering high-fidelity simulation modeling, rapid structural analysis, multi-objective design optimization, uncertainty analysis and optimization, which can effectively improve the design accuracy, efficiency, multi-functionality and reliability of complicated mechanical structures. This book is primarily intended for researchers, engineers and postgraduate students in mechanical engineering, especially in mechanical design, numerical simulation and engineering optimization.

Ready access to computers at an institutional and personal level has defined a new era in teaching and learning. The opportunity to extend the subject matter of traditional science and engineering disciplines into the realm of scientific computing has become not only desirable, but also necessary. Thanks to port ability and low overhead and operating costs, experimentation by numerical simulation has become a viable substitute, and occasionally the only alternative, to physical experiment at ion. The new environment has motivated the writing of texts and mono graphs with a modern perspective that incorporates numerical and com puter programming aspects as an integral part of the curriculum: meth ods, concepts, and ideas should be presented in a unified fashion that motivates and underlines the urgency of the new elements, but does not compromise the rigor of the classical approach and does not oversimplify. Interfacing fundamental concepts and practical methods of scientific computing can be done on different levels. In one approach, theory and implement at ion are kept complementary and presented in a sequential fashion. In a second approach, the coupling involves deriving compu tational methods and simulation algorithms, and translating equations into computer code instructions immediately following problem formu lations. The author of this book is a proponent of the second approach and advocates its adoption as a means of enhancing learning: interject ing methods of scientific computing into the traditional discourse offers a powerful venue for developing analytical skills and obtaining physical insight.

The articles in this volume summarize the research results obtained in the former SFB 359 "Reactive Flow, Diffusion and Transport" which has been supported by the DFG over the period 1993-2004. The main subjects are physical-chemical processes sharing the difficulty of interacting diffusion, transport and reaction which cannot be considered separately. The modeling and simulation within this book is accompanied by experiments.

Numerical Modeling of Masonry and Historical Structures: From Theory to Application provides detailed information on the theoretical background and practical guidelines for numerical modeling of unreinforced and reinforced (strengthened) masonry and historical structures. The book consists of four main sections, covering seismic vulnerability analysis of masonry and historical structures, numerical modeling of unreinforced masonry, numerical modeling of FRP-strengthened masonry, and numerical modeling of TRM-strengthened masonry. Each section reflects the theoretical background and current state-of-the art, providing practical guidelines for simulations and the use of input parameters.

No present-day research and development program is complete without the inclusion of a robust modeling and numerical simulation component. Models and model-based numerical simulations are extensively used to probe complex materials behavior and structure in order to obtain a deeper insight into the fundamentals of materials. Multi-physics models are becoming increasingly common, with advances in computational science, and are rapidly advancing the basic understanding of materials. The aim of this special collection: "Theory, modeling and numerical simulation of multi-physics behavior", with its 25 selected and peer-reviewed papers,.is to highlight the theories, models and numerical techniques that have permitted multi-physics simulations to become an integral part of research and development programs.

Born in 1915, Harold Guetzkow might have been a child of the "Roaring Twenties." But in fact Professor Guetzkow is much more a "child of the depression" (to use his own term). A complication of essays by scholars who took time and energy to pen their work in honor of Harold Guetzkow. The chapters that follow represent a real contribution to the study of international relations and document the influence of Harold Guetzkow in catalyzing that study over the last thirty years.

Numerical simulation is a technique of major importance in various technical and scientific fields. Used to understand diverse physical phenomena or to design everyday objects, it plays a major role in innovation in the industrial sector. Whilst engineering curricula now include training courses dedicated to it, numerical simulation is still not well-known in some economic sectors, and even less so among the general public. Simulation involves the mathematical modeling of the real world, coupled with the computing power offered by modern technology. Designed to perform virtual experiments, digital simulation can be considered as an "art of prediction". Embellished with a rich iconography and based on the testimony of researchers and engineers, this book shines a light on this little-known art. It is the first of two volumes and focuses on the principles, methods and industrial practice of numerical modeling.
