The Story of Stuart and Frank is a book written by the author, Paul Browning, with the intent of delivering to the reader instructions on how to get the results that they really want in their life. Factors such as the increasing cost of living, jobs under threat or cash flow pressures in business means we all concentrate on a lot of negativity in our lives. Consequently, such negativity can wear us down and affect our thoughts, feelings, attitudes and ultimately our results and achievements. You may have noticed this negativity filtering down to affect you at a personal level. You may have experienced this in the form of feedback from employers, teachers, even mothers and fathers whom despite having your best interests at heart can occasionally fail to encourage. Let s not forget, they too are under pressure. The Story of Stuart and Frank, outlines the lives of two fictional individuals who have the same opportunities as they embark on their lives. It depicts two very contrasting outcomes for them both despite their similar circumstances. Stuart does very well while Frank achieves modest results at best. Browning uses these two individuals to outline to us how our thoughts become feelings, the way feelings influence our actions, and our actions dictate the quality of our results. The book outlines the factors that can influence our thoughts and provides suggestions for success. The book contains two parts. Part One details the lives of Stuart and Frank and analyses how their lives change through the lifecycle of growing up to old age and, ultimately, death whilst concentrating on the internal and external factors that influence their thoughts and actions. Part Two outlines how the reader can get the results they really want in any aspect of their own life. It analyses how we all think, how we use our five physical senses to perceive the world we live in and finally what we can do to influence the way we think. Consequently, the reader can enjoy a happier and better quality of life from the results they achieve.

God Now written by C. Fred Alford and has been published by Wipf and Stock Publishers this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2019-11-07 with Religion categories.
In these short, accessible essays, Alford writes about the personal “Why I Pray,” as well as the political “Simone Weil and Donald Trump.” He makes some difficult theologians, such as Karl Barth and Søren Kierkegaard, accessible, while not hesitating to criticize them. Alford argues the genius of Christianity is in God making himself vulnerable so as to know what it is to be human; otherwise, God stands at a terrible distance from humanity. From this perspective, Christianity is about the teachings of Christ, and God’s willingness to suffer. The resurrection, so central to most Christians, becomes less important. Myriad religious thinkers are considered, including Albert Camus, Thomas Merton, Reinhold Niebuhr, Rudolf Bultmann, and Paul Tillich, among others, including Simone Weil. Also addressed is the relationship between religion and psychology, as well as the status of natural law. Notable is the author’s attitude, which combines respect for great thinkers and a willingness to call them out as wrong, confused, or misguided. Unafraid of atheism, Alford thinks many of the so-called new atheists judge religion as though it were a science, a confusion of categories. Once a philosopher of science, he knows the scope and limits of scientific explanation better than most.

Tenali Raman was a court jester, an intelligent advisor and one of the ashtadiggajas (elephants serving as pillars and taking care of all the eight sides) in the Bhuvana Vijayam (Royal Court) of the famed Emperor of Vijayanagar Empire (City of Joy) in Karnataka Sri Krishna Deva Raya (1509-1529), the model ruler par excellence to Ashoka, Samudra Gupta and Harsha Vardhana. Tenali Raman was an embodiment of acute wit and humour and an admirable poet of knowledge, shrewdness and ingenuity. In a short span, the legacy left behind by Tenali Raman attained eternity. All these qualities of Tenali Raman have been fully explored and displayed in this collection of vibrant fables and anecdotes. The book is a marvellous treasury of legends of Tenali Raman and Emperor Raya which evokes a long lost, never-never land: an enchanted world of alert wits and tricky gossips; crafty crooks with biting tongues, valiant brigands and an assorted cluster of uncommon common people. Narrated by the author and superbly illustrated, "Fix Your ProblemsThe Tenali Raman Way" is an engaging blend of earthly wisdom and sparkling humour which deal with concepts that have certain timelessness. Each story is followed by terse moral and incalculable snippets which are usually that little extra that brings the reader a little more closer to his goal on the way to realisation. Every story purveys a pithy folk wisdom that triumphs over all trials and tribulations. The moralistic traits sagaciously portrayed by these stories intend to develop a series of impacts that can reinforce certain key ideas by the rational mind of the readers in all facets of life and propel them to the top in every endeavour. The stories' various layers of meaning educates, informs, advises, enthuses, inspires and amuses and thus have a teaching effect which makes this book a must read for every aspiring individual who wants to race ahead in the world of opportunities and cusses. The book also exposes how richly endowed Bharata Khanda (India before invasions) had been in the east in the field of wisdom and knowledge down the ages of which the west is ignorant.

From a renowned surgeon, “a stunning survey of cardiology’s ‘Golden Age’ and the ‘misfits’ who made it so . . . a book of marvels” (Publishers Weekly, starred review). By the middle of the twentieth century, heart disease was killing millions and, as with the Black Death centuries before, physicians stood helpless. Visionaries, though, had begun to make strides decades earlier, daring to defy the medical wisdom of their day. On Sept. 7, 1895, Ludwig Rehn successfully sutured the heart of a living man with a knife wound to the chest for the first time. Once it was deemed possible to perform surgery on the heart, others followed. In 1929, Dr. Werner Forssman inserted a cardiac catheter in his own arm and forced the x-ray technician on duty to take a photo as he successfully threaded it down the vein into his own heart . . . and lived. On June 6, 1944—D-Day—another momentous event occurred far from the Normandy beaches: Dr. Dwight Harken sutured the shrapnel-injured heart of a young soldier, saving his life, and the term “cardiac surgeon” born. In The Heart Healers, world-renowned cardiac surgeon Dr. James Forrester tells the story of these rebels and the risks they took with their own lives and the lives of others to heal the most elemental of human organs. The result is a compelling chronicle of a disease and its cure, a disease that is still with us—but that is slowly being conquered by healers. “Forrester brings history to life and explains complex procedures for lay readers in this excellent book.” —Library Journal (starred review) “One of the great medical storytellers of our era.” —Eric Topol, cardiologist and author of Deep Medicine

This book draws parallels of our human lifespan to that of the weather seasons of spring, summer, autumn, and winter. The author assumes the useful years of our being to be eighty. He divides these years equally into the four seasons, being twenty years each. The spring season is viewed to be promissory, belonging to the parents or the system that nurtures the young into the confident and independent person of the latter years. Come summer, we become adults as we reach the peak of our physical growth and energy. Autumn in the life of plants is the fall of leaves. Likewise, humanly, red flags start showing up at this time, signaling the reality of our mortality. From the summer years until somewhere in the winter years, we are wired to be productive. But it is the winter season that calls for us to be collected and to pass on what we have gathered over the mileage of our lives to those in waiting. The author notes that while we all can survive spring, summer, and autumn, we surely go to sleep in winter. We never start the cycle all over again. At best, the winter can be long. In other words, we can live to around anything past eighty. However, he argues that past eighty, we live a preventative life pattern. The message of the book is that all seasons are beautiful and it is in our interest to take advantage of each season while it lasts.
