During the Renaissance, artists and illustrators developed the representation of truthful three-dimensional forms into a highly skilled art. As reliable illustrations of three-dimensional subjects became more prevalent, they also influenced the ways in which disciplines developed: architecture could be communicated much more clearly, mathematical concepts and astronomical observations could be quickly relayed, and observations of the natural world moved towards a more realistic method of depiction. Through essays on some of the world's greatest artists and thinkers--such as Leonardo da Vinci, Luca Pacioli, Andreas Vesalius, Johann Kepler, Galileo Galilei, William Hunter, and many more--this book tells the story of how of we learned to communicate three-dimensional forms on the two-dimensional page. It features some of Leonardo da Vinci's ground-breaking drawings now in the Royal Collections and British Library as well as extraordinary anatomical illustrations, early paper engineering such as volvelles and flaps, beautiful architectural plans, and even views of the moon. With in-depth analysis of more than forty manuscripts and books, Thinking 3D also reveals the impact that developing techniques had on artists and draftsmen throughout time and across space, culminating in the latest innovations in computer software and 3D printing.

Food Printing 3d Printing In Food Industry written by Kamalpreet Sandhu and has been published by Springer Nature this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2022-03-14 with Technology & Engineering categories.

This book provides a comprehensive overview of the technical notes, research designs, literature, and 3DP (three-dimensional printing) technology applications for effective food printing. It provides a multidisciplinary coverage of 3D food printing in different food sectors. Recent advancements in manufacturing processes have led food industries to create innovations to stay competitive in the market. 3D food printing incorporates 3DP digital gastronomy strategies to manufacture food products with consistency in shape, color, flavor, texture, and even nutrition. Thus, by controlling the number of materials and the quality of nutrients, food items can be manufactured and handled to fulfill their particular requirements. For food printing, both proprietary structures and self-developed frameworks are used from open sources. Similar frameworks are re-engineered to reformulate administration, content creation, and user interface. For example, three printing medium types, natural printable products, non-printable synthetic food products, and alternative ingredients as well as two recipe forms (i.e., element-based recipes and regular recipes) are used for customized food production. The authors address that open 3D technology for food printing and food processing technology are theoretically correlated with food printing. The book will help industrial designers, nutrition professionals, dieticians, manufacturing enterprises, and young researchers in food technology, material science, and mechanical engineering understand the latest advances in 3DP technology in food industries.

""3D Printing"" explores the revolutionary world of additive manufacturing, revealing how objects are created layer by layer from digital designs. This technology, also known as 3D printing, is transforming industries by shifting manufacturing from subtractive to additive processes, enabling unprecedented design freedom and customization. For example, 3D printing allows for the creation of complex geometries previously impossible to manufacture using traditional methods. The book begins with the historical context of 3D printing, tracing its evolution from early stereolithography to today's diverse techniques like FDM, SLA, SLS, and binder jetting. It then examines the various materials used in 3D printing, including polymers and metals, and their suitability for specific applications. Finally, the book investigates practical applications across sectors like aerospace, healthcare, and automotive, concluding with future trends and challenges, such as multi-material printing and the ethical considerations of customized medical implants.

Virtual Endoscopy And 3d Reconstruction In The Airways written by Nabil A. Shallik and has been published by Springer Nature this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2019-11-20 with Medical categories.

This book is unique in its approach, covering the impact of virtual endoscopy and 3D reconstruction on surgical modalities and perioperative airway options. Airway management is an essential skill that is practiced daily by almost all anesthetists across the world. Most of the anesthesia-related morbidities and mortalities in the perioperative period are associated with respiratory complications, either of airway or pulmonary problems. Thus, the prediction of airway complications in perioperative period has been an active research field for many decades and is a cornerstone of perioperative anesthesia assessment and management. Virtual endoscopy & 3D reconstruction is a novel, reliable and non-invasive airway assessment tool that is able to reconstruct simple CT images to provide a clear view of the airway down to the bronchial trees, and offers the highest possible sensitivity, comparable with fiberoptic endoscopic pictures. This revolutionary tool avoids the hazards of invasive airway assessment by fiber-optic bronchoscopy, like bleeding from airway masses, sedation induced airway collapse and other complications. This book is a valuable resource for anesthesiologists, intensivists, surgeons, radiologists, otolaryngologists, medical students as well as residents in training.

Doody Rating: 3 stars: Over the last decade impressive improvements in computer and ultrasound technology have promoted a wide use of ultrasound in clinical practice. With the advent of color and power Doppler ultrasound, and more recently three- (3D) and four-dimensional (4D) ultrasound, research expansion in the field of human reproduction, obstetrics and gynecologic oncology has occurred. Ultrasound has simplified guided techniques such as oocyte collection and breast biopsy, but has also become an important technique in the assessment of the follicular growth and endometrial development, as well as in evaluation of the uterine and ovarian perfusion. Significant studies have been made in the gynecological application of Doppler sonography and screening for ovarian and uterine malignancy. In obstetrics, Doppler sonography has allowed unprecedented insight in the pathophysiology of human fetal development. In a relatively short period of time, 3D and 4D ultrasound has proved to be a useful clinical tool in almost all sections of gynecology and obstetrics. In this book the authors explain the significance of each of the discussed subjects in an effective way, by integrating important and updated information and illustrative examples. The contributors of this edition have made significant improvements, included updated information and a few unique illustrations. Each chapter has been reviewed and revised to focus on the clinicians needs in ultrasound practice. The educational impact of the book is further enhanced by adding a manual for sonographers and physicians entitled Clinical Sonographic Pearls that was created for better organization of important clinical presentation-based information."
