For comments, questions, and speaking engagements, contact the author at [email protected]. Dr. Mary Ann Segal came upon warnings of a fuel crisis shortly after 9/11. She was reading the New York Times Magazine and saw the article entitled, "2011", by Niall Ferguson, in which there were predictions that by 2010, due to increasing demands upon peaking oil, there would be a world-wide shortage, and the "price would become out of reach." Then on February 24, 2004, another Times article said the largest amount of the world's increasing demand was upon Saudi wells which are becoming tired. She considers it very fortunate that her mind had turned to wind/solar electrolysis of water for a universally useful, renewable, absolutely clean fuel, that would put a halt to the widespread threat of freezing and starvation, when oil was selling for out of reach prices, with an inadequate supply of barrels. Hydrogen could save civilization as we know it if we jump in and make the infrastructure for hydrogen. It would certainly be a new frontier to do so, as hydrogen can replace all fossil and nuclear fuel. The warnings in the February 24, 2004 article suggested to her that within two or three years we would perhaps already be at the place that "20ll" put off till 2010. She began a manuscript to warn Americans to conserve fuel stringently, so that the supplies could be available for necessities, without over demanding the sources. One year passed without too much price pressure. But in 2005, the emergency emerged! Many people cannot afford the price of heating oil and natural gas and electric heat or even wood this year. Gasoline for cars is also high in price. Katrina and Rita complicated an already narrow margin. She expedited this manuscript with AuthorHouse, to get out an explanation of why we are in this shortage, and to offer suggestions and hope about what steps we could follow that could probably get us through this wilderness. She cares about every American and feels a profound need for unity amongst us to face this crisis with cooperation and dedication to one another, rich, just comfortable, and poor alike. We would be showing the world a new democratic example and new technical ecology. Her life experience prior to this most recent undertaking of hers is found on the last page of the book, "About the Author." www.hydrogenforlife.com

If Moses, Jesus, and the Prophet Muhammad were to meet, what would they tell one another about Judaism, Christianity, and Islam? Three of today’s leading scholars explore the topics such a conversation might entail in this comparative study of the three monotheistic faiths. In systematic, side-by-side descriptions, they detail the classical theologies of Judaism, Christianity, and Islam, and the authoritative writings that convey those theologies—Torah, Bible, and Qur’ān. They then compare and contrast the three faiths, which, though distinct and autonomous, address a common set of issues. While asserting that this book is by no means a background source for issues and conflicts among contemporary followers of Judaism, Christianity, and Islam, the authors nevertheless aspire to reveal among the three a common potential for mutual understanding. "A major challenge for people of faith is to resist the growing demonization of Islam, Christianity, and Judaism . . . I want to do something to build bridges between the three religions. I feel called to embody in my own life the healing, the reconciliation, the unity I long for between people of different religions." Art Gish became involved in the life and worship of all three religions; he considered himself a Christian, a Muslim, and a Jew, and worked at integrating those three perspectives into his life. Acknowledging that Judaism, Islam, and Christianity are all threatened by narrow-minded, violent extremists who put the particular interests of their own people above our common interests, he tells inspiring stories of open-minded Muslims, Jews, and Christians who struggle together for reconciliation and who confront injustices that spawn hostility. Gish looks not only at the disagreements but also at the unity of the three Abrahamic faiths. He writes, "When people cross boundaries, exciting things happen. Each time in Israel/Palestine that I experience Jews, Muslims, and Christians eating, working, laughing, and crying together, I sense a foretaste of the coming kingdom of God, a demonstration of how things could be, and one day will be."

This challenging work describes in detail the development and history of the three major monotheistic faiths—Judaism, Christianity, Islam—but also asks why they conflict with one other. Rather than uniting the believers, monotheism has played a crucial role in fostering a fractious society through the manifestation of three different, antagonistic religious systems—Judaism, Christianity and Islam—with each religion claiming to represent God's will and viewing spiritual peace as only possible through victory in a war against the others. Giving a historical explanation of these religions while relating them to contemporary conflicts, this text shows how monotheism can become a unifying force for humanity, posing arguments that will intrigue psychologists, theologians, and general readers alike.

Islam within Judaism and Christianity is a truth, truth that is clear and bright in the midst of a dark world that has lost its way through understanding that are guided by Satan. This book will remove the veil off of Gods concealed messages, and it will impact the twisted long life of preaching that was used for indecent political power and financial gains, causing billions of innocent lives lost throughout history. Through Islam within Judaism and Christianity I would like to introduce you to the messages of God from the holy Bible and The Quran so that you can discover that we are all followers of Moses, Jesus and Mohammed. We are one nation that belongs to the same one God, so we may consider changing our attention from striking one another to striking our one enemy, Satan! This is a book that assists you in better understanding one another in pursuit of making our world a better place and doing it together. Ahmed S. Yousef, PT. Ph.D.

This volume of the series "Key Concepts in Interreligious Discourses" investigates the roots of the concept of "soul" in Judaism, Christianity and Islam. The human soul fascinates not only believers in the three monotheistic faiths. Believing in an immortal entitiy, surpassing body, materia and their temporality and thus seeming to be closer to the creator that the mere body was and remains to be a vividly discussed theme in theological and practical debates. Even our secular, postreligious environment is unable to disengage from the key concept of the soul. Numerous proverbs, undefined concepts and hopes prove this fact. Asking for the soul means asking fundamental questions like life after death and therefor asking for one of the most fundamental and uniting hopes of human beings, be they secular or religious. The volume presents the concept of "soul" in its different aspects as anchored in the traditions of Judaism, Christianity and Islam. It unfolds commonalities and differences between the three monotheistic religions as well as the manifold discourses about peace within these three traditions. The book offers fundamental knowledge about the specific understanding of the soul in each one of these traditions, their interdependencies and their relationship to secular world views.
