Development Of A Modified Time Delay Spectrometry Technique For Underwater Acoustic Measurements In A Multipath Environment written by Bjoern Brekke and has been published by this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 1984 with Physics categories.
A measurement technique has been developed which makes possible the determination of the acoustic transmission loss for various paths between a source and a receiver at relatively short ranges in the ocean. The method is based upon a technique called Time Delay Spectrometry (TDS). The theory for utilizing TDS to perform measurements on an underwater test range with a homogeneous water column is presented. The experimental parameters concerning test geometry together with criteria for the source signal are discussed and the limitations are described. A computer program written in HP BASIC is the tool in a multipath measurement system where analog sound signals recorded on tape are processed by an HP 356A Dynamic Signal Analyzer under program control. Originator-supplied keywords include: Time Delay Spectrometry (TDS), Under water acoustic propagation, Dynamic signal analyzer, Linear frequency modified pulse (LFM pulse).

Photoacoustic Photothermal And Photochemical Processes At Surfaces And In Thin Films written by Peter Hess and has been published by Springer Science & Business Media this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2012-12-06 with Science categories.
Review articles by leading scientists in their fields are brought together in this volume to provide a comprehensive treatment of photoacoustic, photothermal and photochemical processes at surfaces and in thin films. The articles introduce the fields, review present knowledge and conclude with latest developments and future prospects. Topics covered include laser-induced desorption, ablation and surface damage; surface acoustic waves; photothermal and photoacoustic characterization of thin films and interfaces; depth profiling in the frequency and time domains; remote testing and nondestructive evaluation; materials characterization; and new theoretical approaches using fractals. The book will interest newcomers to photoacoustics, since it gives an overview of current research and details of experimental methods. It will also be a source of information for those already in the field due to its clear presentation of theory and experimental results. All relevant literature references in this rapidly expanding field are included.

Sound Systems Design And Optimization written by Bob McCarthy and has been published by CRC Press this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2012-11-12 with Technology & Engineering categories.
With this definitive guide to sound reinforcement design and optimization, Bob McCarthy shares his expert knowledge and effective methodology developed from decades of field and teaching experience. This book is written for the field professional as well as the consultant or student, in a clear and easy-to-read style and illustrated with color diagrams and screenshots throughout. McCarthy's unique guide reveals the proven techniques to ensure that your sound system design can be optimized for maximum uniformity over the space. The book follows the audio signal path from the mix console to the audience and provides comprehensive information as to how the sound is spread over the listening area. The complex nature of the physics of speaker interaction over a listening space is revealed in terms readily understandable to audio professionals. Complex speaker arrays are broken down systematically and the means to design systems that are capable of being fully optimized for maximum spatial uniformity is shown. The methods of alignment are shown, including measurement mic placement, and step-by-step recipes for equalization, delay setting, level setting, speaker positioning and acoustic treatment. These principles and techniques are applicable to the simplest and most complex systems alike, from the single speaker to the multi-element "line array.
