With the new millennia, there is an attitude that bigger is better, and more is better; such an attitude reeks of our pride. It is due to this attitude which has integrated into the church so well, it has allowed for the church take on the so many of the standards of the world, that it has become no more than a social club. We as the church have come to the point that we no longer look to God for what he can do for us, or the blessing he has in store for us. We now depend on the world for what it can do for us and what we can get from it. We are not supposed to blend in; or depend on the world. We are supposed to stand out, to be a city on a hill, and the salt of the earth. The church has spent too much of its time trying to be satisfied rather than to being sanctified. It's this kind of an attitude that has allowed for many Christians to take a Luke warm attitude towards God, not being fully devoted to him. In fact, most of the time, they will only look towards him when there is a need that can't be met by the world; it only then that they will go to God to get their needs met. If you would just take the time and look around you at today's church, you can see the lukewarm attitude almost everywhere. It is due to this lukewarm attitude, and in some cases, an outright open acceptance of sin. That has allowed for the church to fall into the state that it is. All anyone need do is take a moment to look around; if you truly open your eyes you can see the church has truly fallen from grace. This can easily be seen from the way its members act, they treat the church as if it were nothing more than a social club. The fact is in some cases it doesn't even look like a church at all. The very fact that sin is so commonly accepted, and there is nothing said, or done about it shows that we are lukewarm. It's time for us to take a spiritual examination of ourselves to see if we're producing Godly fruit, are we really living a life whereas the fruit of the Spirit would be manifested through us. We must renew our passion for being in the presence of Jesus. We must take up our cross and lay down our lives and follow Christ and be filled with the Holy Spirit. We must renew our minds daily in God's presence. We must study the life of Jesus and the Word of God and let it become part of us, inside and out. The Christian church needs to repent. We need to look at ourselves. We need to look at our churches. We need to look at one another and decide that we will stand on the essential doctrines of the faith so that we will be united in Christ. Now is the time for us to turn back to God, time for us to lay down our lives for Him and serve Him. Now more than ever it's time for revival and it will only begin when we repent of our sins to God. Turn back to Him and serve Him as we should. God is looking for people who are willing to take a stand for Him, willing to lay down their lives for Him.

This is a story that explains much. It will not give references to be checked because I want to present it not as a scholarly word of man but as a holy word of the Lord. However, you can check for yourself the truth of that which is stated as fact. Remember, we heard no more of Cain after God put him out of Eden; and remember, too, that science and the Bible both agree that Eden, the place of man's creation was in Africa. From the north of Africa to its southern tip, man was and is of darker hues. God sits high and sees all; and without repentance, the day of reckoning will fall mightily. It's time to awake from the dream you've been living and the nightmare that you have caused others to live because of your fear and your greed. These ramblings of hopeful insight presented here are simply intended to prick the hearts and minds of my brothers and sisters who claim Christ to turn things around in this country, our country, so that God doesn't have to send more drastic measures of His displeasure to us.

Wounds Not Healed By Time written by Solomon Schimmel and has been published by Oxford University Press this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2002-09-22 with Philosophy categories.

How should we respond to injuries done to us and to the hurts that we inflict on others? In this thoughtful book, Wounds Not Healed By Time, Solomon Schimmel guides us through the meanings of justice, forgiveness, repentance, and reconciliation. In doing so, he probes to the core of the human encounter with evil, drawing on religious traditions, psychology, philosophy, and the personal experiences of both perpetrators and of victims. Christianity, Judaism and Islam call for forgiveness and repentance in our relations with others. Yet, as Schimmel points out, there are significant differences between them as to when and whom to forgive. Is forgiving always more moral than refusing to forgive? Is it ever immoral to forgive? When is repentance a pre-condition for forgiveness, and what does repentance entail? Schimmel explores these questions in diverse contexts, ranging from conflicts in a marriage and personal slights we experience every day to enormous crimes such as the Holocaust. He applies insights on forgiveness and repentance to the Middle East, post-apartheid South Africa, inter-religious relationships, and the criminal justice system. In Wounds Not Healed By Time, Schimmel also provides practical strategies to help us forgive and repent, preparing the way for healing and reconciliation between individuals and groups. "It is my belief," Schimmel concludes, "that the best balm for the resentment, rage, guilt, and shame engendered by human evil lies in finding the proper balance between justice, repentance, and forgiveness."

All people have sinned and broken God's law. None of us are good (Rom. 3:10). And as a result of our sin, God commands us to repent. But what does repentance look like? In this booklet, Dr. R.C. Sproul looks at several people in the Bible and how they give us a model of repentance. Dr. Sproul explains that true repentance is not simply a religious ritual or the resolve to do better next time. Rather, it's a spiritual conversion in which we turn from our sin and to God in faith. The Crucial Questions booklet series by Dr. R.C. Sproul offers succinct answers to important questions often asked by Christians and thoughtful inquirers.

This fourth volume contains two treatises of biblical exposition. The first treatise is A Godly and Learned Exposition upon the Whole Epistle of Jude . Finding the purpose of Jude’s letter in verse 3, Perkins calls for all Christians to persevere in professing the gospel by taking heed of false teachers and deceivers, who seek to infiltrate the church. While many of his points of application reflect a context peculiar to the Elizabethan era, his insights into what it means to “contend for the faith” still prove applicable today. The second treatise is A Godly and Learned Exposition or Commentary upon the Three First Chapters of Revelation , giving careful consideration of the seven letters to the seven churches of Asia. Perkins highlights the person of Christ and His significance to the church, focuses on what Christ approves and rebukes about the condition of the church, and emphasizes Christ’s bounty and humanity’s duty. Troubled by the prevalence of those who accept empty profession as conversion and dead formality as godliness, Perkins urges his audience to move beyond mere intellectual assent to heartfelt dedication to Christ.

Israel And The Covenants In New Testament Times written by Peter Williams and has been published by Paragon Publishing this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on with Religion categories.

A Bible student reference A New Testament prophecy of a falling away from truth into apostasy and lawlessness, in the final generation before Jesus Christ returns in glory, is being fulfilled now and is shortly to end. Yet Christianity has overwhelmingly moved so far from its first century roots that it could not even recognise this – or that Christ’s return is therefore now almost upon us! How and why this is the case is here explained thoroughly and logically with many examples directly from the word of God. In God’s saving plan for the world, everyone must in time make a free will choice to become part of the ‘Israel of God’ in order to access eternal life in the kingdom of God. The route to take is the “strait and narrow” way (Mat 7:13-14) that very few have so far found, and it involves the biblical new and old covenants which both apply to this Israel. Embark on this voyage only if you are willing to: be challenged about some basic Christian preconceptions, be a serious open-minded Bible student, and trust what the Bible teaches - but remember that time is short. “What the Bible has taught me I see as both vital and urgent for our eternal salvation; yet I know of no church or individual theologian who teaches what this book deals with in any substantive way” “Be prepared for major challenges to your understanding just as God has challenged me.” “In the epistles, Paul refers to two Israels whom he calls Israel after the flesh (I Cor 10:18) and the Israel of God (Gal 6:16); I focus mainly on the latter (but I also explain an unexpected but critically important connection between them)” “Dependent on the teaching, nearly all Christian denominations either teach nothing at all on it or almost the opposite of what Scripture repeatedly showed me. Looking back, I find this absolutely staggering!” “Very few [Christians] understand that the new covenant also only applies to Israel (as I will clearly show).” “I no longer believe that the NT [New Testament] can be fully understood without this extra Israel dimension” “Had I felt I could deliver this in a more light-hearted way I would have done so, but its implications are too awesome and fundamental to our eternal life prospects for that”

Time To Repent written by Major Mcintyre and has been published by Createspace Independent Publishing Platform this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2017-04-20 with categories.

There is a spiritual crisis brewing in our nation and around the world in which the majority of people are ignorant to its consequences. Governments and their anti-religious forces are becoming an ironclad force to attempt to halt religious rights as they petition for less of God's influence on our culture. The anti-God rhetoric is at an all-time high along with legislation that seems to attack both the Church and Christians. We should be concerned about this matter because these are evil forces camouflaged as something well and good for our nation, but are actually the anti-Christ spirits of our day. Spiritual and moral accountability they abhor. In their schemes, semantics are use in the terms of words such as tolerance, diversity, political correctness, and gender neutrality, and are put in syntax form, so on the surface it seems harmless, yet they are being used to promote the agenda of the anti-God crowd. From the philosophy of these terms has risen what we will call "semantic insanity" and "gender confusion," which are leading to a type of extremism against common sense unprecedented in this modern era of civilization. No longer do we know who we are spiritually; no longer do we want to be male and female; man and woman, husbands and wives in the way that God designed humanity to operate anatomically. The human model, as inspired by God whom gave us our distinctiveness is being tampered with as the atheist, agnostics, narcissist, nihilist, humanist, modern day Pharisees, Sadducees, and scribes are challenging everything moral with a relativistic and existentialist view of life. In this modern era, God's creations are actually trying to reinvent not only themselves but also who God is.

Stop Asking Jesus Into Your Heart written by J. D. Greear and has been published by B&H Publishing Group this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2013-02-01 with Religion categories.

“If there were a Guinness Book of World Records entry for ‘amount of times having prayed the sinner’s prayer,’ I’m pretty sure I’d be a top contender,” says pastor and author J. D. Greear. He struggled for many years to gain an assurance of salvation and eventually learned he was not alone. “Lack of assurance” is epidemic among evangelical Christians. In Stop Asking Jesus Into Your Heart, J. D. shows that faulty ways of present- ing the gospel are a leading source of the confusion. Our presentations may not be heretical, but they are sometimes misleading. The idea of “asking Jesus into your heart” or “giving your life to Jesus” often gives false assurance to those who are not saved—and keeps those who genuinely are saved from fully embracing that reality. Greear unpacks the doctrine of assurance, showing that salvation is a posture we take to the promise of God in Christ, a posture that begins at a certain point and is maintained for the rest of our lives. He also answers the tough questions about assurance: What exactly is faith? What is repentance? Why are there so many warnings that seem to imply we can lose our salvation? Such issues are handled with respect to the theological rigors they require, but Greear never loses his pastoral sensitivity or a communication technique that makes this message teachable to a wide audience from teens to adults.
