Timed Arrays written by Randy L. Haupt and has been published by John Wiley & Sons this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2015-04-20 with Technology & Engineering categories.

Introduces timed arrays and design approaches to meet the new high performance standards The author concentrates on any aspect of an antenna array that must be viewed from a time perspective. The first chapters briefly introduce antenna arrays and explain the difference between phased and timed arrays. Since timed arrays are designed for realistic time-varying signals and scenarios, the book also reviews wideband signals, baseband and passband RF signals, polarization and signal bandwidth. Other topics covered include time domain, mutual coupling, wideband elements, and dispersion. The author also presents a number of analog and digital beamforming networks for creating and manipulating beams. The book concludes with an overview of the methods to integrate time delay into the array design and of several other adaptive arrays that prove useful in many different systems. Examines RF signal concepts such as polarization and signal bandwidth and their applications to timed antenna arrays Covers arrays of point source, elements in timed antenna arrays, active electronically scanned array technology, and time delay in corporate fed arrays Includes complete design examples for placing time delay in arrays Timed Arrays: Wideband and Time Varying Antenna Arrays is written for practicing engineers and scientists in wireless communication, radar, and remote sensing as well as graduate students and professors interested in advanced antenna topics.

Performance Modeling And Analysis Of Disk Arrays written by Edward Kihyen Lee and has been published by this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 1993 with Computer architecture categories.

As disk arrays become widely used, tools for modeling and analyzing the performance of disk arrays become increasingly important. In particular, accurate performance models and systematic analysis techn iques, combined with a thorough understanding of the expected workload, are invaluable in both configuring and designing disk arrays. Unfortunately, disk arrays, like many parallel systems, are difficult to model and analyze because of \fIqueueing\fR and \fIfork-join synchron ization\fR. In this dissertation, we present an analytic performance model for non- redundant disk arrays and a new technique based on \fIutilization profiles\fR for analyzing the performance of redundant disk arrays. In both cases, we provide applications of our work. We use the analytic model to derive an equation for the optimal size of data striping in disk arrays, and we apply utilization profiles to analyze the performance of RAID- II, our second disk array prototype. The results of the analysis are used to answer several performance related questions about RAID-II and to compare the performance of RAID-II to RAID-I, our first disk array prototype.

Software Engineering written by Doug Bell and has been published by this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 1992 with Computers categories.

This work offers an introduction to software engineering for students in undergraduate courses in computing at university or college level, defining it as the body of knowledge and practical techniques that can be brought to bear on the process of developing software. This includes all types of software - commercial applications, programs, scientific and engineering programs and systems software (for example, compilers, operating systems and database management systems). Design of the ACM curriculum and provides coverage of newer programming paradigms. It is also intended for the use of practising workers in the software industry. high-level language; a little knowledge of data structures; one or two years programming experience; and (preferably) involvement in at least one moderate-sized project. object-oriented design and parallel programming, as all of these have become increasingly important and, in the case of parallel programming, all-pervasive, in recent times and for the foreseeable future.
